These were his personal testers and were in working order when they moved here to Florida in the late 1950's and they have been sitting in her garage ever since then. I do not know how to operate or test them so being sold as is and untested. Please ask questions and I will do my best to answer them. For your Bidding consideration in this Auction is a Vintage HICKOK MODEL 600-A Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester accompanied by a Hickok CRT-1 Adapter in the original Box. It Measures 17" X 11" X 8" Cosmetically. It appears in very nice condition, some light surface rust ina fw spots but no dings or damage. The case is complete and has normal age related wear. The Adapter aslo appears in good condition, the red electric cord has a small split causing the cloth around the wire inside to be exposed but not the wire itself. The Adapter Box is very fragile and was in pieces when I got it. As shown, I have taped it all back together and, while not cosmetically appealing, it is now functional. There is some paper work with the Adapter(see Photo) and a plastic Instruction Manual Card. There is also an original Instruction Manula for the 600-A Tester, a Guarnbatee Certicficate and a Tube Data Sheet. Shipping weight estimate is 21 pounds. Great tester but probably needs calibration. Comes as shown with book. All meters work fine and from what I can tell so do switches and controls. Sockets are tight. I don't think this has seen much use. I have had this for some time and just have not got to it. I was going to calibrate or have someone to calibrate the machine. Appears to be in great shape. No unusual smells or noises. Calibrate it yourself or send it to your tech.

VINTAGE HICKOK TUBE TESTER MODEL 600 - FIXER UPPER OR PARTS - POWERS UP, NO LID!
Up for auction is a vintage Hickok tube tester Model 600. This unit has a missing lid/cover. The 5Y3 and 83 tubes are in working order. But the 83 is probably on its last legs, just an FYI. The tubes are dated 0-43 and 0-50. The meter is in working order too. Some mounting screws are missing and the case has normal wear, scratches, and a few gouges. The scroll works and is dated 12-1-56. All knobs and switches are in tact and appear to be functional. I was able to power this unit up without any fuss as you can see in the pictures. I tested three different tubes.80. 6CG7, and 6F6G. After testing the three tubes, I found the readings a bit lower in comparison with my TV7 tester. The worst reading was the first side of the 6CG7 as this tube is in good condition(both sides) but came up with a false bad. I also had trouble with testing a 12AX7, ... morewhere neither side gave me a reading for whatever reason. I believe all this unit needs is a good cleaning and calibration and some TLC. Unfortunately. I have no know-how in performing these things. This would make for a good candidate as a fixer upper or you may be inclined to use it for parts. The choice is yours. This listing is for a Western Electric KS-15560-L1 Hickock 539 Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester. I bought this thinking it would make a nice upgrade over my rather beat up Hickock 539. I got it home. Looked it over and thought, this beautiful tester has a lot more important work to do than testing an occasional 6BA6 or 12AX7 in my basement shop. While this is nice enough to reside in a museum, it deserves to be used analyzing tubes as its capabilities are significantly better than I had imagined when I first bought it. As the label says. It was made by Hickock specifically for Western Electric. It was used in a laboratory at the Bell System. It was not trotted about very much, as the case is in very good condition. Electrically it is the same as my old 539 but has a separate meter for Grid Bias and a separate meter for the AC Line adjust. ... moreIn addition. It dispenses with the"English" pot, the"Good/Bad" Emission Test rating, and depends upon the user to understand the meaning of the Gm reading. Gm ranges are from 3.000 full scale to 60,000 full scale, with selection of high and low signal tube types. Filament voltage is selectable from 1.1 volts to 117 volts. Grid bias is fully adjustable in two ranges. 0 to 6 and 0 to 60 volts. There is also an option for testing in self-bias mode. This tester also allows you to plug in a headphone to the"Noise Test" pin jacks and listen to the tube. Either in static operation for random noise or in a test wherein you tap the tube and listen for microphonics(a very important test) Unlike most Hickock testers. With this model allows you to lock the P4 test position by pressing"P4 Lock" This allows you to watch tube operation over time without needing to hold the P4 button. Heathkit IT-21 Tube Tester - Checker from an Estate - No Reserve
This Heathkit IT-21 Tube Tester- Checker is from an estate so we don't know about its history. But appears to be in pretty good condition. It really only needs to be cleaned up a bit, but we will leave that to the new owner. The knobs all turn freely and the levers all move securely into their three detent positions. Regardless of it they have a knob or not. The thumb-wheel on the right moves the tube selector drum. But we don't know what the thumb-wheel on the left is supposed to do. The area in front of the tube selector drum is open. But we don't know if is supposed to be open or not. We powered it up and the panel lights illuminate. And as seen in the photo, the meter needle centers on the scale for Line Test. We have no tubes to test it with, so it is being sold as is, untested. This is a very nice tube tester. As you can see inside it's in great shape. And outside there is only minimal wear. The roll chart is dated 1974. It comes with the instruction manual, european tube type data book, obsolete tube data book, operating data for the CA-4, the CA-4 adapter, vibrator testor, and grid/plate cap wires. It is in perfect working order. It has just been calibrated according to Daniel Schoo's instruction. This is the grand-daddy of all Military Electron Tube Test Sets. Very complex and very large with 6 meters. There is very little this amazing piece cannot do. It is in excellent cosmetic and working condition. Faceplate and lettering are super clean as shown. Seems to work fine but I don't know much about them. I tested a bunch of tubes and so I think it's fine but I have to sell it as-is since I don't know how to test all the functions. There's one cable that I showed in the second picture that is clipped off. I have no idea what it's for. TV-2A/2 Tube Tester. 1957, Low Hours, Serviced, Working. Cabinet has some wear- faceplate and tube testing operation is fine. This example was manufactured by Federal Television in Philadelphia. Faceplate has date stamp May 6. 1957. The TV-2 is the highest quality US military tester. Faceplate is in fine condition with no wear. I cannot find any indication anywhere on the faceplate this example was used for many hours. Definately a low hours example. As shown in the photos, the chassis was removed from case and circuit quality and voltages measure fine. When shorted tubes are measured in the TV-2, resistors to the selector switches take a beating and will break down and fail. Not a problem with this TV-2. Up for bids is a United States military Type I-177-B Dynamic Mutual Conductance tube tester. The I-177-B tube tester was designed by and licensed to Hickok. This version was manufactured by The Triplett Co. Using Hickok's technology. It appears to be completely original. The line cord and cap line plug ins are very brittle and should probably be replaced somewhere down the line. All controls operate and function as they should. The meter movement is smooth and surrounded by a great looking panel. The tip of the meter pointer is slightly turned to the right. The original manual is dated 11 June 1951. The tube tester is working but it reads 15-20% higher than it should. This is based on ... morecomparison tests using my calibrated TV-7/U tube tester. Here's a very nice Heathkit TC-2 tube tester in full-working condition. The light-up data roller is very cool. The unit has been tested with new-old tubes and found to read within manufacturer specs. This is an emissions-type tester. So it doesn't test for mutual conductance. It comes with the original users manual(not pictured) and tube-data update booklets. The plate-clip lead wire has some brittle insulation that can be taped or replaced. Please make sure the item is suitable for your needs. Up for your consideration is a Stark 9-66 tube tester. I had this tester serviced and it worked fine. But I must have done something as it no longer deflects when I insert a tube and press the test button. I can however adjust line voltage. It heats up the tube but no reading can be obtained. The service tech had this guy working within a few minutes, perhaps I blew one of the tubes by an improper setting. HICKOK 752 Mutual Conductance Tube Tester VG Condition/ Works/ Great for Audio Very nice Hickok model 752. These are the famous FAA type tube testers. Clean inside and out. Excellent panel and working roll chart. There is some normal wear around the roll chart thumb wheel and short switch otherwise looks great. The outer black fabric case is in much better shape than normally found. Please see the pictures for condition. Clean. Original chassis. Tested fine with several typical audio tubes. The 752 has some special features not found on most Hickok tube tester. One of these features is the ability to check double section tubes(like 12AX7) without resetting the selector switches to test the second triode. You simply push the"Plate 2" button and the quality of the second tube section is automatically registered on the meter. This ... moremakes this tester an ideal one for the audiophile market as audio equipment is typically loaded with double triodes. Hickock replaced the 539 with the 752. These still used the basic Hickok GM two tube circuit and the 752 was considered a laboratory tester and had additional functions such as the second grid setting and capability to test multistage tubes without reconfiguration. While this tester is working fine. it is highly recommended that the switches and contacts be cleaned and it be checked out by a qualified technician. Here is a Vintage Military Tube Tester model I-177B in very good cosmetic condition for its age. It does work and was tested using a few old tubes I had as shown.Tube socket A was used using a 5Z3 tested good. Radio/TV Model 205 Tube Tester by Electronic Measurements Corporation. New York This Tube Tester is in a wooden case that measures 13" x 11" x 4-1/2" When you raise the lid. There is a blast tube chart, a white paper on the inside lid(see photo) The Tube Tester has a knob for shunt control, a circuit selector, and L.V. control selector, and a filament selector. It has a chart that gives you information about the tubes(see photo) It has a thing that you rotate in a circle with your thumb to read the chart. It has a large gauge in the middle that says"Reject, Weak, or Good" see photo) There's a black cord with some type of clip on it(see photo) not sure what it is for. It also has a brown electrical cord you plug into the wall to run the machine. All of the wires on the machine appear to be original. I've never ... moreplugged in this machine. Vintage Chicago Tube And Set Tester Model 532
I'm not real for sure of the capabilities or the features of this model. I have plugged it in and tested some AA and AAA batteries and that feature does work correctly. The paper scroll does scroll smoothly. Made by Chicago model 532. The case measures shut 15 1/2" by 12 1/2" by 8 1/2" The lid opens and has a mirror attached to it. Overall the operating board and case are in good shape. I have no way of testing the complete capabilities of this unit because I don't have the tubes or the knowledge. Money back if not satisfied. Simpson 1000 Plate Conductance Tube Tester Calibrated and fully operational
Simpson 1000 Tube Tester. The tube tester is a Plate Conductance type of tube tester. Much better than your simple emissions testers. This tester is nearly identical to the Eico 666 tube tester. Other than the lever knobs are reversed. The question arises. Did Simpson design the tester and Eico copied it? Or did Eico design it and Simpson copy it? My guess is that Simpson designed the circuitry and Eico being a"Kit Operation" slightly modified it so they could sell kits of this excellent tube tester. As to how the tester setup is made. The first 9 lever knobs correspond to Tube Pin Numbers 1 through 9 they are labeled A-I the knob J the 10th one is the Grid Cap lever. K then sets the plate and screen grid voltages and L sets the shunt resistor value across the meter. You also will set the Bias and Range knobs as per needed for each ... moretube setup. Hickok calls these Bias and English knobs. The positions of the first 9 lever knobs is. 0 = ground. 1 = Filament, 2 = Screen Grid, 3 = plate, 4 = control grid bias, 5 = open no connection. Once you learn to operate this tube tester its reasonably easy to devise tests for tubes that aren't listed in any of the books or obsolete tube lists. I have been through this tester and done capacitor replacement. Resistor checking and calibration. I have had this tester for several years. I just have too many tube testers so this one needs to find a nice loving home. The case on the tube tester has some rough spots on the covering. Mostly on the corners. See all Photo's for case condition. The original Manual is included with the tube tester. Also included is a photocopied listing of Obsolete Tube settings. I also have the obsolete listings in PDF form and can be supplied after the auction is completed. Lastly along with the tube tester is also a"Home Brew" I think adapter box to test Compactron Tubes 9 and 12 pin. I have never used this adapter so not a clue about it other than it has two tube sockets on top for 9 and 12 pin compactrons and the plug on the

Hickok 6000 Tube Tester is Calibrated & All Within Specs 55 Tubes & 6L6 Included
Hickok 6000 Tube Tester Calibrated& All Within Specs 50 Tubes& 6L6 Included Hickok 6000 Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester Information including the manual. Calibration procedures, and updated tube data are readily available at no charge at Bama and elsewhere. All the specs were checked and the tester calibrated and the line voltage with a 6L6 in the socket is at 6.2 volts that will help ensure accurate Gm test results. The two tubes in the tester are both RCA, 83 and 5Y3, were new in 10/2013 and both tested and balanced. This tester did not come with this case and is held down with only four screws although in the original case all ten were used. The plate on the case goes to this tester and the cases and plates were swapped with another tester. We did not plan on selling this tester and the appearance of the case was unimportant ... moreas long as the tester functioned properly. All the specs were checked and the tester calibrated in 10/2013 and has been used little since. Notes during the calibration were recorded on a blank page in the manual. We use an outside source for the calibration tube and the tester is reading 5400 for Gm and the tube calls for 5475. This could be easily corrected. And according to the calibration procedures, the shunt dial would be tagged about one number or so lower to show 5475, but that has not been done and will be left up to the new owner. The calibration tube's Gm reading is from a 533A and from a very reputable and trusted source. The Hickok 6000 series is fairly simple to calibrate and instructions on calibration. The manual, and updated foreign and domestic tube data is readily available at no charge. The calibration can be done using a DMM as long as shunts are used and this tester was calibrated using both an analog and DMM. This tester has a pot to set the line voltage and with a 6L6 in the socket the line is at 6.2 volts which is where it needs to be.
