My brother tested a new tube and it tested good. All of the dials/switches are present and working as they should. This has been tested and works fine as a few of the pictures show. This unit was purchased on January 12-1967 according to the guarantee. The unit measures 10 1/2 inches long, 8 3/4 inches wide and is 3 1/2 inches tall. Sold"as-is" and was working when I took these photos. The tube is not included. Up for bid is an antique Weston Electrical Instrument Corp. tube tester/analyzer. Model 547 No. 24949. I found this tester at an estate sale and it had previously been owned by a collector. I believe the tester is from the late 1920's. I cannot check exactly how the tester is supposed to work. Because it did not come with any sort of manual. However, I have checked each of the gauges individually, and each of them works properly. All of the internal electrical parts look to be original to me. Though one of the push buttons seems to have been replaced at some point. The tube tester requires a 3 volt battery, and I don't know if the battery holder is original, but it looks to be. The switches and knobs all move freely and the cord looks to be in good shape considering how old it is. Overall. It is in great condition for it's age. ... moreThe tester comes in a black bakelite case. The case is slightly chipped and scratched(see the pictures) The case has a leather handle. Which is very sturdy, though it seems to have been repaired at some point. The clasps on the case are all solid and close tightly. The case is missing one of it's legs though. The tester is 12.5" by 9.25" by 4" I've described the item to the best of my ability and have taken a lot of pictures of it. The pictures are an important part of the description. And everything is as it appears in the pictures. The item is being sold as is( for parts or repair) because of it's age and no returns will be accepted.

Acurate Instrument Co. Inc. Model 257 tube tester
This tube tester is in rough condition. But appears to work. I tried a 7 pin and a couple of 9 pin tubes(not included) on it, and got good indications for a couple of them, and a"shorts" indication on the other. There are some handy pin straighteners in the top row, and one of the sockets is for Nuvistor tubes, which are kind of rare. I have listed it in the"for parts or not working" category. Mostly over concerns that some of the switches and sockets might need cleaning. All of the metal is rusty, and the material covering the wood enclosure is coming off. You can see this in the pictures. The manual is coming apart, but looks like it has all of the pages except for the front and back cover. It has a date of 1/68 on the first page. Please look at all of the pictures carefully for the condition. There is nothing included ... morebeyond what you see here. This is from the estate of a local ham radio operator. You are bidding on a Tube tester#151 by Accurate Instrument Co. with instruction manual in very good condition. 1960 model I think. The lid comes off to allow you to better use the instrument. This deal comes with 3 other manuals. RCA receiving tub manual from 1954 in fair to good condition. Also Tube substitution handbook numbers 14 and 17 from 1971 and 1974. These two books are in very good condition. You will also receive about 20 tubes of different sizes. The tester did work on a few of these but I do not know much about testing them so I don't know if they are good. Some did light up however.
