It was surplus from a company that set up their own repair department for the service of their fleet of tube type UHF and VHF radios in the 1960s. Soon after they did this they converted to the more modern transistor type of radios. As such this item has had almost no use. They just recently had an auction to reduce some of their surplus tools and stock. I have used it to check some tubes and it appears to work properly and has similar readings to a B&K tube tester. Eico 666 Tube Tester. I plugged it in and nothing happened. I have no way to test the unit. The fuse looks to be good. I can't tell if the bulb is good. Or not. Everything is complete except for the rubber ring that protects the power cord. I did retape the paper to the rollers and that works fine, now. The case has rust, scrapes, and scratches. PRECISION MODEL 10-60 TUBE AND TRANSISTOR TESTER WORKS CLEAN FOR RADIO AMP MUSIC
This offering is for a PRECISION MODEL 10-60 TUBE AND TRANSISTOR TESTER IN WORKING CONDITION. THE CASE SHOWS WEAR. BUT IT IS SOLID AND PRESENTABLE. The hardware is all good, the handle, the hinges, the latches all super. Best of all, the case has done it's assigned duty of keeping the tester clean and protected. I compared this pRECISION'S test results to my 2 calibrated Hickok TV7- testers, a"good but barely" tube on my TV7-D also show good on the Precision- but not very strong. The meter operates smoothly and properly. It is true however that testers of this age generally should be calibrated, as most have not been calibrated in decades. I did not test the transistor portion, as I have no knowledge in that area. I'm a tube guy. Please note the roll chart has two windows, the top window is for transistor test data and ... morethe bottom window shows the test data for tubes. The roll chart rolls nicely, with no difficulties. No missing parts, has both the grid and plate test leads, a tube data booklet, and misc paperwork. I am always happy to answer questions, so please feel free to ask. This is from a silent key who used it very little and it shows as there is very minimal wear(if any) and all of the sockets are very tight. It is from an estate and is in very good clean condition with some normal light wear and scratches but overall clean and nice. The top of the plastic switch tip on the MERIT switch was evidently broken and it has had black tape wrapped around it(see photo) This is the black plastic switch tip only(not the actual metal switch) It is very minor and could be easily replaced but works fine just the way it is and will continue to do so(it's hardly noticeable) All other buttons and switch tips are intact and in good shape. Up for sale is a vintage Hickok Model 850 Transistor Analyzer. The piece is dated 1958 and was purchased by the federal government for the civil defense program. I do not know if it is in working condition. The unit has one red test lead and a box that plugs into all of them at the same time. The case has some scrapes and dust.
