Like the Eico 625 and 628, and the Heathkit TC-1, TC-2, TC-3, IT-21, IT-17 and IT-3117 all used the Triplett designed circuit made famous in their model 3413 tube tester. In fact, the test data for all these tube testers is generally interchangeable. This makes for a good sanity test if you think your tube data setting may be wrong(which it occasionally is) Just look up the setting for one of the other testers and use it for comparison testing! The Knight KG-600 series of testers was a bit unique. However. By using separate filament and high voltage secondary windings on the power transformer, instead of a single winding as in other testers, Knight was able to add a gas test, and was able to do so without adding any extra components. This gas test feature is unique to the Knight KG-600 series. None of the other manufacturers of similar testers had it. As these testers were intended to be constructed by persons who may not have access to calibration equipment. Allied Radio included a calibration control for the Line Adjust function only, but made no provision for calibrating the measuring circuits, relying instead on the inherent accuracy provided by using close tolerance components. Proper calibration of these testers requires checking all the components in the measuring circuits, including the meter, and ensuring they are within tolerance. This has been done. Out of tolerance components have been replaced with modern, more stable ones, and this instrument is working properly on all ranges. I've owned many tube testers of most all makes and types. But I keep a Knight 600 handy because it is quick and easy to use, even for a beginner, and it gives accurate results. It is shown in the second photo testing a new 6L6GC tube. With sockets added to test the newer tubes that were becoming available. In addition to the usual octal, loctal, 7& 9-pin miniature sockets, Eico added 5& 7-pin nuvistor sockets, novar and compactron sockets, plus 7& 9-pin pin straighteners. The 9-pin socket is actually a combination 9& 10-pin miniature socket. The 628 also has a vastly improved roll chart. The old 4. 5, 6& 7-pin sockets are gone to make room for the new ones. But the older tubes can still be tested. In fact, the data is still on the roll chart and in the tube data manual(included) All it takes is a simple adapter you can make for yourself from an old 8-pin tube base and the socket of your choice. The EICO series of test instruments were intended for professional use. And were marketed mostly to radio and TV repairmen through the local electronic parts dealerships, and their construction shows it. The professional looking brushed aluminum panel was designed to inspire confidence in the customer who saw it, and the heavy steel case of this instrument was intended to protect it well. The circuit was licensed from Triplett and is the same as the Triplett 3413. Heath and Knight also licensed the circuit and produced it as the Heathkit models TC-x and IT-xx. Knight testers are known as the KG-600 series. The test data for all of these tube testers is generally interchangeable. This tester appears to be in good working condition- it powers up but I have not tested any tubes with it(do not possess any) As the photos show. The unit powers up and the face of the tester is clean with clear lettering and original knobs. The original manual includes the tube data charts. The oak case is still in good condition as well with a nice patina, the handle is in good condition and the latches and hinges all work. Heathkit TC-1 Vintage Tube Tester w/ Carry Case
This may be Heathkit's first tube tester. And a fair amount of thought was included with the design. An additional hole is provided for future socket addition, and it checks for emission, short, opens and fil continuity. It is also provided with quality components for the time. A 6SN7 test is shown in one pic. However the short lamp is generally on too. This may or may not be normal, the manual isn't arranged to address dumb questions- like mine. Roll chart is the requisite 1-1-66. An update booklet to 1-1-69 is included. Chart works freely, a tad tight near the end. The tester has turned off twice(line adjust reading went to zero) momentarily then returned to normal, no attempt to determine cause. Wiring is neat and clean, some of the sockets are not oriented as the manual shows but the pins are wired neatly and correctly. Meter ... moreface is clear, has one short tight age crack at the zero adjustment. Switches and controls were cleaned. Original owner(and seller) had inserted the TC-1 into a carry case padded to provide proper fit. This has protected the unit from the effects of long-term exposure reasonably well. Up for Auction ONE Hickok Roll Chart For models 532-533-534& 534A Tube testers. Will also fit some other later models but lack some of the data. This auction is for the roll chart only and not the tube tester underneath it. The pictures do not show the entire chart but only a few areas from start to finish. Date: 4-1-1948 Condition is very good. There are no brittle or rotted areas on the paper and seems strong. There is some light yellowing in a few various areas. I will ship this in a 10x10x4" box and not in any sort of flat cardboard envelope for better protection. I was going to treat it with"Map Life" paper preservative but decided not to and leave it original. I would suggest you apply this or similar preservative when you receive it.

This Hickok 800 Mutual Conductance checker is in great working condition. R ecent calibration done per mfg. specs, calibration data/ settings sheet i s included. Line cord has been professionally replace d with modern 3 prong cord for safety- front panel is now always grounded- but o riginal line cord will be included in sale. Photos show various tubes being checked. Includ ing a 6L6. A 12AT7, and an 811. Checks for shorts and leakage. Also checks diodes and discrete transistors. Missing only the red plate cap lea d. The black lead can be used for tubes with plate caps. For tubes with both grid and plate caps an additional lead will be needed; you can make one or they are available on eBay. This vintage tube tester is in great cond. It is a Model 700 made by Precision Apparatus Co. Brooklyn NY USA. All knobs and dials and roller work smoothly. I have powered this tester up and it does power up. The needle on the gauge moves. It is not broken or stuck. The wooden box has dovetail corners and is in great cond. Box has a Sylvania decal.Handle hinges and closures are all great. It has a leather handle. The power cord has hardened and the outer coating is cracking off however it does work.This is a really nice tube tester in a really nice box. As with all electrical items I sell I cannot guarantee it works only that it does power up. There is an instructional booklet and it says Operating Instructions for Series 700. TWO KNIGHT KG-600 SERIES TUBE TESTERS. NON-WORKING CONDITION FOR PARTS One is complete with the case and the other is without a case for robbing parts when needed. Here’s the story… The one that is in the case was working fine and calibrated. Then one day I was wiping the meter off and the needle started moving erratically and I could never figure out what had happened so I just bought another tester. I think the tester just needs another meter. The other tester’s meter is open so I didn’t swap it. Both transformers are good and the one in the case has a good roll chart as well as other parts and I feel it could be put back in good working condition. Model 707 Dyna-Jet BK Tube tester. I don't have the book but the sockets have tube numbers on them so it seems easy to use. a manual would be helpful I am sure you can download one from the net. With out the manual I cannot guarantee that everything works so as is.

Used Hickok brand 83 mercury vapor rectifier, tested, very nicely balanced
Here is a very nice Hickok branded 83 tube that was removed from a working Hickok 539C. Tube is tested and is very nicely balanced as you can see from the meter reading on my Triplett 3444. tube has reasonably good marking. Particularly the Hickok logo and tube lot number of 63-35 274 marked on the bottom. 274 is RCA's EIAA code. tube will be double boxed for protection, so I am showing a shipping weight of. 2 pounds, which will allow for really good packaging. good luck bidding!

Excellent Working Precision Model 10-12 Tube Tester w/ Tube Test Data & Extras
Offered for auction is a nice vintage Precision Tube Tester Model number10-12 serial number 8205 made by the Precision Apparatus Company in the U.S.A. The tester comes with two original Precision Books including a Supplementary Tube Data for tubes that are not included on the built in roll chart and and the other is Tube Test Data which mainly mirrors the roll chart but has lots of other information for tubes not on the chart such as Novars and Compactrons and some later tubes. The tester is in excellent working condition and the front operators panel is actually in very nice original condition showing very minimal wear however the wood case does show obvious wear from years of reliable use. I have used this tester personally in the past and it has always been very accurate with readings consistantly in concert with my Hickok 539C. The tester ... morecomes complete with all accessories that are pictured which includes; one model A-15 socket adapter used for testing 10 pin tubes. Nuvistors, both 5& pin styles, Novars and Compactrons and the books with the data needed to use this accessory.
