This Vintage Eico 667 Tester has been in storage for over 30 years. I don't have the ability to test it and don't know if it works, so I'm offering it in"AS IS" Untested condition. It is in good condition given it's age. Circa 1968) Other then the six black plastic lever tips that are missing. All the parts appear to be present(See Photos) The paper scroll moves correctly and all the levers. Push buttons, and rotary knobs seem to operate correctly. I included pictures of the inside so you can judge for yourself the condition of the parts. The case has some rust on the outside as well as around where the handle is attached. This tester can most likely be refurbished by some one who is skilled in vintage test technology.

It looks as though it has been recently painted silver. though this looks ok I am not so sure it is original as the handle is blue. Also the hinges on the back either have been moved or they are not the original ones as the are off center and I can see where hinges used to be. Looking at it I thing the old hinges broke and these were put on. The cards, are old on the edges and do fall out the holder quite easy. So please look at the pictures for cosmetic condition. It now works PERFECTLY. It looks Excellent outside(but few marks) There's an Eico tape on the bottom of the case w/ their# 667 51026 0044 OVERHAUL: The tester was operational. But I wanted to but to bring it to proper Calibration standards. Per Manual- it needed extra long servicing- THE RIGHT WAY: Changed Plate potentiometer w/ a Wire Wound MALLORY Industrial Grade type. Changed Leakage& Line resistors. Matched within 2% resistance- ... morebetter than the originals- the Manual says they've to be of equal value. Installed 2 New diodes& a New Electrolytic capacitor. I painted& installed a NEW Pilot Light. Took apart the meter& straightened its pointer. Installed missing screw/nut for Push Buttons assembly. This was very important. As some PB's weren't holding! Removed residue of old tape(you still see it inside the cover. Picture 1) Cleaning throughout. CALIBRATION: Per attached Instruction Manual. TESTING on the Mutual Conductance scale 0- 140; Note that what you see in the pictures are very resembling to the results on my Upgraded Stark 8-77(~= Hickok 6000/A) Mutual Conductance tester: 1. Russian Army 6P6 = 6L6. No leaks 2. A Leaking tube. 3. 5U4GB. P 1 = 94 = Mid Good, P 2 = 94 = Mid Good( make sure you switch the Grid pot OFF = 0. Per instructions) No picture. 4. 6CW4 Nuvistor- 94. Mercury 2000 Mutual Conductance & Emission Tube & Transistor Tester NICE
Here's a very nice Mercury 2000 mutual conductance and emission type tube tester that also does transistor testing. It's been lightly used and stored most of the time for many years. You can see the tester itself is beautiful, although the case has a few scuffs in it. Also the front two feet are missing- I actually removed them years ago so it would tilt ever so slightly toward me in the shop to avoid a light reflection. I always thought I'd save them and put them back on sometime, but that obviously didn't work. near as I can tell this is still working perfectly, I tested a couple known good tubes and got the results I was expecting. However since there are nearly an infinite amount of settings and combinations it's hard to say with 100% accuracy that it's perfect. And you probably know that for serious, hard core ... morework, these really need to be restored to bring them up to 100% spec. But for the typical hobbyist these are really good machines, and I believe share a circuit with a Hickock model, I can't remember exactly but someone did tell me that. Precision Apparatus 10-60 Tube and transistor Tester
This is a Precision Apparatus 10-60 tube and transistor tester. I tried it on 3 tubes. A 6L6, a 5Y3 and a 12AX7. It worked and gave reasonable results, but calibration is not guaranteed. I did not try testing any transistors. It is one of the last, and most complete testers that Precision made and covers many tube types. This is the one to have if you're looking for a high end emmisions tester. The case is a little beat up( see pictures) but solid and there are some wear marks and scratches on the face of the tester. Here is a nice and fully working Lafayette Tube and Transistor Tester. I repaired and calibrated this unit. Then I used it to test some tubes and transistors. It is fully working. Even the bipolar transistor test function works great. All the switches and controls work well and the sockets are good. This tester comes complete with a copy of the manual and test charts so you will be able to use this unit to test your tubes and transistors. This emission tube checker will test a large number of tube types. Here is a short list of rock tubes people need to test nowadays: 6CA7(EL34) 6L6, 6BQ5(EL84) all the 12A_7 family(12AX7, 12AT7, 12AU7, etc. ECC8_ just like the 12A_7) and many, many others. This checker has the following sockets: Large base tubes: 8-pin octal& loctal. Miniatures: 7. 9, 9+1, 10(Not many testers can handle the 9+1 or 10-pin ... moretubes. Novars(bigger 9-pin tubes) Compactrons(bigger 12-pin tubes) I tested all of the above tubes with this tester except the Decal and the 9+1 10-pin miniatures because I don't have those tubes. I checked the socket wiring for these tubes and it looks good so I think they will work as well. The manual has a lot of tubes in the charts and good instructions for testing them. But nothing about how to use the transistor testor. I added a page to the manual that gives instructions on how to test transistors. Also in the manual is the schematic which will help you maintain the proper operation and accuracy of this tester. This tube tester is a newer compact. Counter top style instrument. It's light and small so you can easily get it down from the shelf when you need to test some tubes. As you can see from the pictures, this unit is in good condition. I found two chips in the case that are shown in the pictures. Other than that, the case is made out of Bakelite so unless you manage to crack it or chip it, it's almost indestructible. This is from a silent key who used it very little and it shows as there is very minimal wear(if any) and all of the sockets are very tight. It was not used in a shop for daily use and the outside case has usual shelf wear. These are the ones you want to find! It comes with all factory papers, instruction manual, supplementary tube data, 9 pin tube extension adapter and update lists for tubes as of about 1968. Here is a clean. Calibrated and tested EICO 667 Tube Tester. It works because I tested it and fixed what was broken. Testing revealed several problems including an intermittent tube socket which had to be replaced. The only thing I wasn't able to test was the 7 pin Nuvistor socket because I don't have any of those tubes. I checked the socket wiring and it looked OK, so that socket most likely works as it should. I checked the transistor test function with both PNP and NPN transistors. It worked just like new. Most people looking to buy a tube tester rarely consider the transistor function. But the EICO 667 has a pretty decent transistor tester built in. It checks both the Iceo(collector to emitter. Open base) leakage current and the Beta. This works especially well for signal transistors. The EICO 667 Dynamic Conductance Tester is ... morean excellent tube tester which provides much more reliable results than the typical emission tester. I have a weak EL34 tube in my parts box that tests good on almost all emission testers. This 667 correctly rejects this tube as bad. See picture. Overall this tester is in very good condition. It has minimal marks on the faceplate and meter lens. The switches and controls all work well and the tube sockets are nice and tight. The roll chart works well and the meter is smooth and repeatable. Take a look at the photos. They do a good job of describing the unit's overall condition. This is a nice vintage Eico model 667 Dynamic Conductance Tube& Transistor Tester. It is from an estate and is in very good clean condition with some normal light wear and scratches but overall clean and nice. The top of the plastic switch tip on the MERIT switch was evidently broken and it has had black tape wrapped around it(see photo) This is the black plastic switch tip only(not the actual metal switch) It is very minor and could be easily replaced but works fine just the way it is and will continue to do so(it's hardly noticeable) All other buttons and switch tips are intact and in good shape. Meter is clear and nice. Power cord is also nice with no deterioration. Built-in tube chart roll is intact and in good shape. This is a very nice tester in very nice shape.
