For sale is a used vintage B&K Dyna Quik 500 Tube Tester. I bought it from the retired owner of an electronic shop. The tester looks very clean and nice overall. The original owner said the tester is good for Ham users. I know very little about the use of the tester. Please google for the specs and use. It powers up OK. As shown in one of the pictures I took. Otherwise I don't know what else to look for. Certainly, it has some scratches and dings but overall very good. Wood box is very solid with good hinges. Here is a nice early B&K Dyna Quik model 500 in good condition. This unit has been tested with a couple of tubes that were tested on a calibrated tester my friend owns and the tubes tested within 5% of his. The previous owner said he used this to test all his tubes and it worked very well. This tester has a 83 rectifier tube in it. And has a slight hum when powered up but everything seems to work as it should, it also comes with a 1B3GT adapter and the tube chart booklet plus there is a page on the back of the cover. I am also going to sell another B&K model 606 in another auction, check that one out. The case is in good condition with some worn spots and the latch has some rust. But all in all is in good condition. This unit will be wrapped like a mummy and shipped FedEx

This B K Model 500 tube tester works. I tested 6 tubes with it and got meaningful results. It has a lot of information inside the lid allowing one to test a variety of tubes, but it does not come with the little supplemental handbook. I have seen them sold on eBay for 9.99. It's old and the tolex is a little rough, the handle mounts are rusty and one of the rubber feet is missing, but it has four of the little octal adapters and a fifth one which is a duplicate of the 6BN6-98. Everything I tested worked(well one of my tubes was shot, but that's a different story) but it's used so it's sold as-is with the understanding that it's been around the block a few times. If I had enough different types of tubes I'd test all the sockets. I'll repeat, every tube I plugged into this lit up and tested. Ultra Rare 1935 Precision Apparatus Electronometer 500 Tube Tester w NE-31 Neon
If you collect early tube testers. Here's one that you can actually use today. It's a Precision Apparatus Co. model 500. I tested it with a 27 tube and you can see it working in the pictures. Since this is a directly heated tube, the number four switch(in shorts test mode) lights up the NE-31 neon bulb. The tube tests good, as you can see. This uses toggle switches exclusively which is really unusual. Please check the pictures for the cosmetics. The front panel shows it age as you can see. The case has veneer missing in a couple of places. Now for the extras- this comes with the main data sheet and also quick instructions. It also comes with a supplement from Precision dated 1942 which explains that they can't get the parts to"upgrade" older testers(like the 500) to handle new types of tubes. They discuss a couple of ... moreadapters that were available before WWII. And suggest people ask their dealer is they might still have one in stock somewhere. This document also contains settings for more tubes. It is very fragile and some sheets are torn as you can see. But that's not all with the extras. Remember those two adapters that couldn't be found in 1942? Well. They are here. One looks homebrew but the other one doesn't. Note the very low serial number on the nameplate. This has to be one of the earliest Precision products around.

I actually had a buyer back out of a deal because I happened to show something else in a pic and he expected to get everything that was pictured) so here goes. Item up for sale: I have on auction today a tested good meter for a B&K 500 tube tester meter for your consideration. This item is being sold AS IS with NO RETURN but guaranteed to be as described or your money back. This ... moremeter tests good(I have used it in working tester and it works as intended) It is in good shape& will no doubt clean up nicely. There is a slight crack in the top of the front face plastic which extends about 3/4 inch down the front face from the top(see close up pic#s 2& 3) and and the lens is slightly foggy there but although the meter is not perfect it is definitely usable these flaws should be visible in all pics of meter front. There are no sizable gouges or scrapes on the face, only a very few minor scratches on the front. On the rear the plastic is cracked on all corners but on 3 of them the cracks are very minor however, on the right top there isn't enough material left to hold the stud in place so it is missing(pics 4& 5) I will provide one and it can be glued in which will be undetectable once the meter is attached to the testers face plate.
