nice and working Sylvania tube tester Model 140. Super clean with NO corrosion or rust, tube sockets best I have ever seen on a tube tester! I have gone thru the tester and replaced all out of spec resistors and tested for proper operation, while I do not have a manual for this, I do have an online file I can email, the tester noted as a dynamic tester. The roll chart lists 9-pin tubes, however there is no 9-pin socket on it, there is a space for a socket so that a 9-pin can be wired in, although I do not have instructions for doing so, probably can be found online. This Sylvania 220 tube tester is in operating condition. The inside works is in excellent condition including the roller data chart. This one of the classic tube testers of the tube era which seems to be coming back. The metal case has some rust on the latches and a couple paint drips on the cover.

Tube Tester, Sylvania 96 Socket, NoN Working/Parts
Very Clean unit for the late 70s. Model CM16549 Chart is in perfect working order 96 socket faceplate is clean and all sockets look pretty good, pulled faceplate and as you can see the wiring is in perfect shape, unmolested other than the power cord inside bypassed to eliminate the back light. Cord needs replacing and have not the time to look into the repair of this unit, priorities have changed in retirement. So here is how I bought it and I will pass along the same deal, i will list at $285 and shipping is on me. Lower 48 sale only, local pick up is fine also, it will likely cost me the better part of a hundred to ship this but if your looking for a tester in better condition you will be paying a lot more.

This is a Mercury Tube Tester with Sylvania advertising. Guessing late 1950's or 1960's. Could not find any dates nor could I find any info on this particular model, you collector's and electronic's wizards will know what this is. The Serial Number is 3270042. It powers up. Red light on panel comes on as well as others, top advertising sign lights as it should. When I put tube in and press check button, needle moves as it should to check tube, see picture) It is important that you realize I know nothing about this item, or if it works correctly. The meter setting knob does not move the needle as instructions state when turned, and its knob is loose. When looking from bottom inside up to underside of control panel it appears all wiring is original and intact, but there is one red wire hanging loose, am guessing it the meter ... moresetting knob power. Also the bottom door has no key so it swings open or closed on its own. My opinion is that this item is all intact and most likely will work perfectly with a bit of help from someone to service it. I took 2 photos from inside bottom up so you could see wiring. This item is 62 inches high. Not that heavy, probably 60 pounds or so, it will break down into 2 pieces, the sign at top will come off. PICK UP PREFERRED, if you want me to ship it you will have to pay all costs, I will take it to local Pak-Mail, they will crate and or pack and ship via UPS. This is a neat old piece of history. The fine item you are considering is an Antique Vintage Sylvania Vacuum Tube Tester Weston Model 678. I have lots of photos below. So be sure to scroll down to the bottom of this page to take a better look. This neat vintage tube tester has a great plaque on the front which reads“Sylvania Tester“ and there‘s also a sheet of old paper tacked on the back which would seem to indicate that it‘s a Weston Model 678. The tester, which measures approximately 17” by 15 ½” looks to me to date to the 1920’s or 1930’s, with a large center meter and an all wood case. The tester is in pretty remarkable, very well cared for, overall condition, but it does have a few issues, these being that one corner of the plastic front tube panel is chipped off(see photos) and the power plug is very old and a bit smashed. Sylvania Tube Tester Roll Chart(only) for Models 139& 140- The only other identification I see on it is: Pc. 15845-J-2-54" This is at one of the ends and is shown in one of the photos. I'm guessing(and that's all it is) that the"54" might indicate the year"1954" I think that's the vintage of these models. This chart was inside a model 140 tester that I bought years ago and eventually resold. I never used it since the machine already had a roll chart installed. Also included in the auction is what appears to be the original mailing tube from Sylvania in Williamsport. PA mailing to an address also in PA. For whatever the reason.
