Here's a very nice Mercury 2000 mutual conductance and emission type tube tester that also does transistor testing. It's been lightly used and stored most of the time for many years. You can see the tester itself is beautiful, although the case has a few scuffs in it. Also the front two feet are missing- I actually removed them years ago so it would tilt ever so slightly toward me in the shop to avoid a light reflection. I always thought I'd save them and put them back on sometime, but that obviously didn't work. near as I can tell this is still working perfectly, I tested a couple known good tubes and got the results I was expecting. However since there are nearly an infinite amount of settings and combinations it's hard to say with 100% accuracy that it's perfect. And you probably know that for serious, hard core ... morework, these really need to be restored to bring them up to 100% spec. But for the typical hobbyist these are really good machines, and I believe share a circuit with a Hickock model, I can't remember exactly but someone did tell me that. As pictured. Up for auction is this Vintage Mercury Model 1100 Portable Tube Tester. Used for Diagnostic testing of vacuum tubes from old Radios. TV's, Amp's. Came out of the estate of an old electrician who also moonlighted as a TV repair guy. First and foremeost, I know virtually nothing about vacuum tubes from vintage devices, let alone testing them. There is no manual included with tester. I only had one old radio in the house. So I removed the tube, plugged it into a tube port that fit the pin profile. turned the unit on, and flipped a couple dials til I got it to light. So, there is functionality. very possibly fully functional, but there's no way for me to demonstrate that, or warrant it. I attached a YouTube Video so you can see the unit in action. This is a Mercury Tube Tester with Sylvania advertising. Guessing late 1950's or 1960's. Could not find any dates nor could I find any info on this particular model, you collector's and electronic's wizards will know what this is. The Serial Number is 3270042. It powers up. Red light on panel comes on as well as others, top advertising sign lights as it should. When I put tube in and press check button, needle moves as it should to check tube, see picture) It is important that you realize I know nothing about this item, or if it works correctly. The meter setting knob does not move the needle as instructions state when turned, and its knob is loose. When looking from bottom inside up to underside of control panel it appears all wiring is original and intact, but there is one red wire hanging loose, am guessing it the meter ... moresetting knob power. Also the bottom door has no key so it swings open or closed on its own. My opinion is that this item is all intact and most likely will work perfectly with a bit of help from someone to service it. I took 2 photos from inside bottom up so you could see wiring. This item is 62 inches high. Not that heavy, probably 60 pounds or so, it will break down into 2 pieces, the sign at top will come off. Mercury Model 1000 Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester - not working properly
This is a great Mercury 1000 dynamic mutual conductance tube tester. I have replaced the electrolytic caps. The diode rectifier, and the lamps. It used to work perfectly, but then suddenly the needle starting pulling backwards with octal tubes. I know this is an easy fix for the right person, but I don't have the desire to chase the problem down when I already have other working testers. Snag this one that has already been re-capped. Find the bad resistor(most likely) and you'll have a great tester for much less than a working one. Comes with the original tube chart and a photocopy of the manual. Complete with schematic.

MERCURY 204 DRUG STORE TUBE TESTER - model 204 - works !
purchased at a estate sale. I know nothing of these types of machines but I plugged it in and the lights turn on and the meter moves. From doing some research there is a bottom cabinet that came with this that I obviously don't have but does come with the black sheet metal base( see picture) Also comes with the top part( which usually is missing) and the tube chart. I can ship this but it will be a large package and heavy and I will need to take the top off so you will need to reassemble. Unit weighs almost 40 pounds and with box and packing material it will hit 50 pounds easy. Chart/Testing Instructions assembly is complete and readable. But appears to have been exposed to moisture. Inserts(card stocks) on which data is printed, show warping(do not lay absolutely flat on metal plates) and discoloration. Metal plates and hinges show some rust. Please see above photos which indicate the general condition of the Chart/Testing Instructions assembly. Chart/Testing Instructions assembly is composed of 5 grey metal plates connected by hinges and 1-9 Chart/Test Instruction inserts. Inserts 1-8 reference U.S. Standard Tube Numbers 0A3 through 421A. Inserts 8 and 9 reference U.S. Industrial Tube Numbers 884 through CK5726. Insert 9 references Foreign Tube Numbers ... moreDAF96 through YF184. SquareTrade © AP6.0 This is a Vintage MERCURY 990 Radio Tube Tester with Setup Manual(probably an older photocopy but nice and clear and complete) that fits under a convenient metal clip on the back for storage! Tube tester is clean looking complete with plastic handle on top. Very compact in size with heavy plastic body, I don't think this model ever had a lid, if it did there is no lid with it now. I tried it with numerous tubes and it tested them all accurately. I don't know when it was last calibrated so probably has been too long and it should be checked over/ tuned up if you are going to use it regularly. The test switch is a little touchy and sometimes you need to play around with it a little. But the tester DOES work. Nice.
