This tester has the 2.5V calibration control as well as a meter bridge calibration(set to 58.25mv) control moved to the front making quick calibrations or checks easy without opening the unit up. The original 2.5v control inside is still present just not hooked up. The unit has a solid state 83 tube replacement in it and has been calibrated to that. Hickok 6000a Tube Tester. The diode test ports have been modified to test power tube current using a standard DMM for power tube matching. I will send instructions on how to use to the winning bidder if you are not familiar with this function which is commonly used on the 539 serie s. The 83 tube has been replaced with a regulated SS device providing proper voltage drop. Als o included are manuals and test data on CD. I spent a lot of time on this unit and have went through just about every component. Meter reads full scale at 100uA. Bridge Balanced and also checked. Repaired, or replaced other resistors, capacitors, switches, etc. Calibration voltages now read- Plate Voltage = 150.4(150 +/ 3v) Screen Voltage = 133(135/3v) Reduced Screen Voltage = 56.9(56 +/2V) Max Bias = 42(40 +/2V) Everything is looks pretty good however the tester still ... morereads slightly high. Still within what is expected for a field tester but not as close as my main 800A units. So I'm starting the bidding low. Hickok 6000A Tube Tester Calibrated& Excellent Condition& All Specs Perfect* Hickok 6000A Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester Excellent Condition Information including the manual. Calibration procedures, and updated tube data are readily available at no charge at Bama and elsewhere. All the specs were checked and the tester calibrated and the line voltage with a 6L6 in the socket is at 6.2 volts that will help ensure accurate Gm test results. The two tubes in the tester are both believed to be original to the tester, Hickok 83 and Hickok 5Y3GT, and test as good as new and are balanced. All the specs were checked and the tester calibrated and appears to have hardly been used. The only adjustment made was the signal voltage which was a little low@ 2 vac so it was increased to 2.5 vac which increased the plate voltage to 152 vdc. ... moreAll the bias voltages@ 100. 75, 50, and 22 are right on as well as the high screen voltage@ 135 vdc, and the low screen at 56 vdc. We use an outside source for the calibration tube and the tester is reading 5475 for Gm and the tube calls for 5475. The shunt dial was lightly tagged about one number higher for the 6k range to show 5475, and the 3k range is 2 numbers higher and double checked with a 6ax7 calibration tube. The 15k range was right on the money and two small black dots were added to the shunt dial. After calibrating the tester the 3k was checked with a 6ax7 calibration tube and the spot marked on the shunt dial was perfectly in line with the new mark. The marks may have changed due to increasing the signal voltage to 2.5 vac, but they are right on the money now. The Hickok 6000A series is fairly simple to calibrate and instructions on calibration. The manual, and updated foreign and domestic tube data is readily available at no charge. The calibration can be done using a DMM as long as shunts are used and this tester was calibrated using both an analog and DMM. This tester has a pot to set the signal& plate voltage and with a 6L6 in the socket the filament voltage

This is a Hickok 6000a tube tester that is in great working condition. I no longer will have a use for it. It functions great and allows you to test a wide variety of tubes. The roll chart rolls very easy and the outer casing has some rubs. The power cord shows wear, tears etc.

Hickok 6000A Tube Tester/Checker Works Well and Nice
This is a working Hickok 6000A Tube tester. It's in pretty nice condition overall. Outside has the usual scrapes and tears, inside has far less blemishes. The meter lens is cracked as seen in pics but does not interfere with operation and looks worse in the pic than in person, the grid cap lead has a chip out of the side but works as it should. The handle was broken but repaired with a super strong aircraft glue and is holding solid, at the same time I reinforced the inside of the box with aircraft glue and it is nice and solid. The corners have loose fabric that will probably glue down nicely but I don't have glue to suit that purpose. I did check the calibration and everything is within factory specs according to sources online. I do not have a manual for this tube tester but it can be downloaded for free on the web. I do have a ... moreprinted copy of the updated tube chart that are not listed on the roll. The roll chart works well but does get tight near the ends. If you are not familiar with these tube testers I highly recommend that you download a free copy online; this tester will probably do far more testing than you think. This is a mutual conductance tube tester. But will also function as a simple emissions tester, diode tester and transistor tester. This item will be double boxed for shipping and fully insured. This is for a Hickok model 6000A micromha tube tester. This tester looks to be in very good condition. I know nothing about these so ill describe the best I can. The only fault I see is a little wear on the red outside of the case. I did not plug the tester in because I would not know what happens anyway. I can not imagine it not working as clean as it is. I don't know if this would be anything that you vintage tube guys would be interested in. Im retiring a tube tester. This is the original cord. It says"Hickok" on the plug and it is a 2 conductor non polarized type. Honesty. I wouldn't hesitate to use this cord on any of my stuff. Its not cracked and it is very soft the flexible. The cord is right around 7 feet long. It may be the finishing touch to that super expensive Hickok tester that has a replacement cord that just doesn't look correct. Last but not least is this nice looking faceplate to the 6000A Hickok. I have left a few trinket items on it as you can see. The plate is very nice. All the writing is in excellent shape. Even at the top where is says"Shunt" and"Bias" those are bold too but the flash makes it look like they are missing. Edges look nice. No pry marks or bends. Here is a very nice looking tube tester. It has not been calibrated but it is working. We used a Calibration tube that is rated at 5125 and it read 4825 so it is within 10% but reading low. Which is better than reading high I guess. Overall I would say this is a nice unit and can be used right now to test tubes. Also this has the tube socket adapter that will test the 4 pin tubes which is nice. It also comes with the obsolete tube data book. So thanks for looking and enjoy the day. Hickok 6000A Mutual Conductance Tube Tester- Calibrated- Late Model& Manuals Hickok 6000A Mutual Conductance Tube Tester Calibrated and in Excellent Working Condition All Voltages Within SPECS that can be seen in the pictures below. All tests were done with the correct shunt resistor to duplicate 1.000 Ohms/Volt Meter. Picture 3 shows the AC signal voltage 2.50 SPEC is 2.5 +- 2 Picture 4 is the plate voltage of 152.5 SPEC is 150 +- 5 Picture 5 is the screen voltage of 135.3 SPEC is 135 +- 2 Picture 6 is the low screen voltage of 56.4 SPEC is 56+- 2 Picture 7 is bias voltage at 100 which is-39.1 SPEC is-40 +- 2 Picture 8 is bias at 22 which is 3.33 SPEC is 3.3 +- 2 Picture 9 shows the filament voltage with the tube in the socket at 6.14 which there is no SPEC for. But critical to get accurate test results. Many Hickok testers can be calibrated, ... morebut the heater voltage drops below 6 volts when a tube is in the socket causing in accurate test results. Picture 9. 10, and 11 show a 6L6 calibration tube with Gm of 5475 being tested with the same results of 5475. The needle is between 5 4 50 and 550 0 on the tester. Please look at the pictures and ask any questions. The tolex is not in great shape but the case is solid. The shorts test is automatic and works. The 83 and 5y3GT are as good as new and balanced. This tester. With the tube plate currently on it, cannot test older tubes such as the 4 pin. Please be sure you know if this tester will work for your needs. If you can find a tube plate for a 6000, you will be able to test the older tubes with this tester as well. This is a later version of the 6000A that came with a newer style meter. An adjustable pot on the meter, that has never been adjusted, an adjustable pot, R17, for the signal and plate voltage, which makes it a lot easier to calibrate than earlier models. Just upgraded and calibrated by Bob W Electronics(The Tube Meister. Bob's EZ Shop) 5Y3 tube removed and replaced with solid state circuit. 83 tube left in place. Tester is very clean but missing top. Has the"new tube" adapter for testing 8 pin octal, 9 pin novar and 12 pin compactron tubes, plus 4 other sockets. Nice spiral bound manual and calibration notes by Bob himself are included.
