Vintage Allied Knight Tube Tester Triplett Meter Old Radio TV Octal Big Pin USA. SOLD AS-IS. This is an old Knight tube tester as sold by Allied Radio. It was made in the USA and while I am not sure of the date I would guess it to be late 1950s. There is no model number on it. Though it appears very similiar to 600 series units I have seen. This vintage unit tests 4, 5, 6 and 7"big pin" tubes as well as octal, loktal, 7& 9 pin miniatures. It is not setup for subminiatures, compactrons or nuvistors. The case measures approximately 14"x10"x6" The unit shows some normal wear and tear, the worst damage being a slight bend to the pointer on the meter(see photos. I checked a few tubes with it and found that some seemed to work fine but others did not show any reading at all. 1955 Allied Knight-Kit Tube Tester-83YX142/3 This is a nice Vintage tube tester from 1955. It is by Allied Radio of Chicago. It has the how to build and trouble shoot manual included. It also instructs how to test tubes. I use to restore and repair old radios and I used it quite a bit years ago. I wanted to make sure it still worked. So I found an old radio stored downstairs and pulled a few tubes out of it to test this evening and a really old tube from a TRF radio I have sitting in my family room. The results are as follows. Which tells me the Tube Tester still works, which is a good thing! 6SK7- Tested good and no shorts or gas problems. 6F6- Had a short from the get go. 80(very old tube) Tested weak but good. I included some pictures of the meter during some of the testing. Just to show it working as well as the lighted filaments, the ... morelighted meter and Roll Chart. Even the power cord is in nice condition. There is a small cigarette burn on the outside by the handle. Remember the days when people smoked anywhere and everywhere? Up for auction is a vintage Knight tube tester It is a model KG 600 b. It is in good as found condition. Purchased from a recent garage sale. The previous owner told me it works. I have turned it on and it does work in that respect. I have not run tests on it. I know nothing at all about old electronics and I know even less about vacuum tubes. Also I have no tubes to test. The exterior or the case is dirty and dusty, but the inside is pretty clean. The lid/top of the case has the previous owners initial painted on. The case is good and solid, there is no breaks or repairs. There is some surface rust on the hinges and closing clasps. there is some spots of the faux leather cover coming loose. The tube being tested in the photos is a 6C6, testing strong on the upper range of the good scale. Hickok readings for the same tube fall in the middle range of the good scale. Not sure whats going on, may need calibration. All controls function correctly including short test& line adjust. Back lighted roll chart works fine. Here is a nice vintage Knight Kit KG-600C Tube Tester. Made by Allied Radio Corp of Chicago Illinois USA made back in 1969. The Tester was found with the original assembly manual and tube chart, is in used very good condition with some wear as pictured, and 1 of the knobs does not tightened up on the shaft and the rubber on the clip for the connecting the top metal of the tube has dried out. The tube tester was plugged in and lights up, meter adjusts, all controls appear to work, the tube chart spins properly and I tested a few tubes and the tester appears to work, but may need to be adjusted. The Case shows some wear with the handle is broken as pictured, is missing 2 feet, but both latches work properly. Up for auction is our vintage Knight KG-600B tube tested with manual and tube spec charts/scrolls for testing. This is my last tube tester since almost all of the tubes from our store have gone to new owners. As-is. As-pictured. Worn/well-used and 100% fully functional, reliable and dependable. Cosmetically, the handle is missing on the case and the outside trim is detaching.this tube tester is worn and well-used so please don't expect mint new condition. The test panel is in great shape and the tester itself works 100% fine. Over this last year I tested many many vintage tubes with this Knight KG-600B and never had a problem or issue with readings or accuracy. I used the KG-600B especially to test the older 4. 5, 6, and 7-pin tubes. Selling my last tester because I am moving out of the radio/tv tube business. Case size is approx L 14 ... more1/2 in x W 10 in x H 6 3/4in. and it is portable(missing handle) Weight of the unit itself is approx 10 lbs 4 oz = 13 pounds or so with manuals and packing box. All manuals. Spec sheets, and an extra tube spec scroll is included and provides settings for many tube types that fit the Knight KG-600B test sockets, including the older 4,5,6 and 7-pins. Please see the pics. Note: I had to repair the internal built-in scroll tube spec chart on this tester because the 65-in scroll paper was ripped. The scroll works now. Here's a vintage Knight Allied Radio tube tester. If you like to work on antique radios this would be a good tester. As it goes back to the vintage 4, 5, and 6 pin tubes, as well as modern octal and sub mini 7 and 9 pin, etc. This has been on my shop shelf for many many years and was quite dusty. I brushed off the dust and tested a couple of handy, known good 6 volt filament tubes and got the results I expected. Due to the fact that this has been sitting, certainly a complete cleaning of the switched and tube sockets will be necessary for good reliable use. The roll chart rolls smoothly. There is no indication as to what model this is, I suspect a 600-A, it's certainly in the 600 series anyway. Knight KG600B tube tester in great condition for age. I bought this out of the same house as the other electronics I've been selling such as the Yaesu ham radio I sold last week. I was told by the widow that her husband used this right up until his recent death which leads me to believe it does work however I do not have any tubes to test it myself. I did plug it in and it lights up with the hand moving back near the center position of the scale. The light on the bottom also lit up. In the pictures you will see the hand is off of zero mark however after I plugged it in the hand has moved to the zero position. Really clean looking unit for age. All knobs turn as they should. The crinkle finish metal case is in good condition with just a couple of scuffs on the two top corners as shown. Both cords are supple.
