Available for sale are three WWII Signal Corps tube testers. Two are model I-177. And the third one(painted red) is a I-177-B. These items came from the estate of a longtime radio technician. Who is in the process of reducing some of his inventory in anticipation of relocating to a small building. All three of these units are in decent cosmetic condition. All are untested, and I have not even attempted to power them on. This is a great lot for a technician who can spend a little time on each unit and give them a decent calibration service. These are being sold as-is. Here I will describe each unit as best I can: I-177(serial number 3621) Nicest unit. All knobs move smoothly. The power cord should be replaced as the pins are loose. Other needed repairs are unknown, if any. I-177(serial number 3783) The filament which is stiff. And will need ... morelubrication. Other needed repairs are unknown. If any. I-177-B(serial number unknown) no number plate on exterior. The"B" selector switch spins freely. Other needed repairs are unknown. If any. Thanks for looking. And let me know if you have any questions. Click any photo below to enlarge.

Please bid with the understanding this may be completely working or"may or may not" be completely working and therefore no returns accepted. ebay does cover buyer with"buyer protection" and this will ship insured against shipping damage to further protect your investment. Cosmetically, the metal case has some surface rust in a couple spots but overall very good integrity and latches work properly. Power cord also in very good condition. I-177-B Tube Tester by Daven looks GREAT under the lid! Appears to be all original and used very little. When I plugged it in it did not power up. All the panel screws are in place and not buggered up. I'm thinking the toggle power switch may be stuck internally and some contact cleaner may free it up- I'll report back. Also one knob is missing on the micro-mhos switch. The cover could be straightened but it closes easily and the latches work as-is. Note that I'm also listing the I-177-B's companion MX-949A/U Adaptor Box in a separate listing. Closing after the tube tester sells. 006.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk%600d72f%2B%3E006-14770084738-0x114-
Vintage Signal Corps Vacuum Tube Tester 1-177. When plugged in you can hear it humming inside and when you press some of the buttons the meter moves. No further testing was done. It is well worn and has rust on it.
This auction is for a vintage Signal Corps. 1-777 B Tube Tester from the U.S. Army. Complete with the original box, manuals and inserts(most of the inserts have duplicates) Original purchase slip says that it was purchased from the Army in 1960. The unit appears unused. But the rubber of the cables has been dry rotted with time. The power cable looks to be in the worst shape. It has not been tested, so I do not know if it functions, sold as is. Manuals are in crisp. Clean shape for their age. The box shows signs of wear and has some damage. The unit is heavy. So please understand the shipping costs. If you have questions or would like to see more photos. Both pieces are in Very nice condition. It line adjusts great and I tested a few tubes and compared closely to my calibrated TV-7. It did not come with a manual so I did not test the MX-949A/U tube socket adapter kit but the Gentleman I purchased them from said they both worked great and the tester does so I would guess the adapter kit does also and the full manual can be purchased here on EBAY for a good price. Both cases are in nice shape with no dents or major scratches and you can tell they were both taken care of very well and they actually look a lot better in person than the pictures show. So any questions please feel free to ask and thanks for looking and good luck.
