Vintage EICO Model 667 Dynamic Conductance Vacuum Tube and Transistor Tester
You are bidding on one Vintage EICO Model 667 Dynamic Conductance Vacuum Tube and Transistor Tester. Useful for testing and debugging vintage electronics. Including guitar amplifiers and antique radio equipment. Rolls turn. Mechanical switch interlocks and reset work. Some black electrical tape on one of the levers. I do not have equipment necessary to test calibration, but powers up and adjusts to line OK. Cosmetically some minor dust/dirt, but should clean up very well.

This panel is used for testing 5 and 7 pin Nuvistor. 12 pin Compactron, 10 pin Decal, 10 pin Min, Magnoval and Novar. The adaptor has a 9 pin connector. There is some cosmetic wear, surface rust and scratches on the top panel most notable at the right side. It is similar to an Eico 610A adaptor panel. This item is in used condition and untested. EICO 667 Tube Tester. Serviced, calibrated, tested and working as it should. All switches, controls, contacts and tube sockets have been cleaned, all components have been checked and defective components have been replaced. Two 1N4148 diodes have been added across the meter for protection, a type 47 lamp has been added to the Grid pot for protection and a new power cord installed for safety. The tester is very clean for it's age showing few scuff and scratch marks, no rust, internally the tester is very clean and ready for use, included is a copy of the instruction manual. The Coletronics 1975 tube chart can be downloaded for free at. It is not recommended to use the roll chart on the tester. These charts are notorious for errors. EICO 667 Dynamic Conductance Tube & Transistor Tester - UNTESTED SOLD AS IS
This Vintage Eico 667 Tester has been in storage for over 30 years. I don't have the ability to test it and don't know if it works, so I'm offering it in"AS IS" Untested condition. It is in good condition given it's age. Circa 1968) Other then the six black plastic lever tips that are missing. All the parts appear to be present(See Photos) The paper scroll moves correctly and all the levers. Push buttons, and rotary knobs seem to operate correctly. I included pictures of the inside so you can judge for yourself the condition of the parts. The case has some rust on the outside as well as around where the handle is attached. This tester can most likely be refurbished by some one who is skilled in vintage test technology.

Here's a nice. Very clean Eico model 667 tube and transistor tester. It's the model with the sockets for 7, 9 and 10 pin miniatures, 5,6, and 7 pin subminatures,octals, loctals, and Compactrons. The Eico 667 is the last and the best of the Eico tube testers. This is the one you want if you're working with vintage electronics. The Eico 667 tester is of the"Dynamic Conductance" type which was originally designed by Jackson as an improvement over simple emission testers without infringing on Hickok's patented"Dynamic Mutual Conductance" design. Eico licensed it from Jackson. And produced a very good tester of this type. The Eico version has an advantage over many, in that it actually measures leakage values on the tester meter instead of using a simple go/no-go"shorts" lamp. This is invaluable for ... morefinding leakage paths that simply don't show up using the less sensitive lamp method. Perhaps one of the nicest features of the Eico 667 tester is the use of precision wire-wound resistors in the measuring circuits- a feature usually found only in the most expensive equipment. As a result. They have held their values and are still well within tolerance. The Eico series of tube testers were intended for professional use. They were marketed mostly to radio and TV repairmen through the local electronic parts dealerships. And their construction shows it. The professional looking brushed aluminum panel was designed to inspire confidence in the customer who saw it, and the heavy steel case of this instrument was intended to protect it well. But the roll chart is hard to turn in areas and does not feel reliable. It would be a good idea to just use the tube data available free to download rather than mess with the chart. Here is a clean. Calibrated and tested EICO 667 Tube Tester. It works because I tested it and fixed what was broken. Testing revealed several problems including an intermittent tube socket which had to be replaced. The only thing I wasn't able to test was the 7 pin Nuvistor socket because I don't have any of those tubes. I checked the socket wiring and it looked OK, so that socket most likely works as it should. I checked the transistor test function with both PNP and NPN transistors. It worked just like new. Most people looking to buy a tube tester rarely consider the transistor function. But the EICO 667 has a pretty decent transistor tester built in. It checks both the Iceo(collector to emitter. Open base) leakage current and the Beta. This works especially well for signal transistors. The EICO 667 Dynamic Conductance Tester is ... morean excellent tube tester which provides much more reliable results than the typical emission tester. I have a weak EL34 tube in my parts box that tests good on almost all emission testers. This 667 correctly rejects this tube as bad. See picture. Overall this tester is in very good condition. It has minimal marks on the faceplate and meter lens. The switches and controls all work well and the tube sockets are nice and tight. The roll chart works well and the meter is smooth and repeatable. Take a look at the photos. They do a good job of describing the unit's overall condition. There are 10 sockets on this tester's panel and it can test many tubes that will fit in the sockets including 5& 7 pin Nuvistors. 7& 8 pin sub-miniatures, 7& 9 pin miniatures, 9+1(center) pin miniatures, Octals, Loctals, Compactrons, and some Novars(top-evacuated) The Novar socket is also used to test panel lamps. This is a nice vintage Eico model 667 Dynamic Conductance Tube& Transistor Tester. It is from an estate and is in very good clean condition with some normal light wear and scratches but overall clean and nice. The top of the plastic switch tip on the MERIT switch was evidently broken and it has had black tape wrapped around it(see photo) This is the black plastic switch tip only(not the actual metal switch) It is very minor and could be easily replaced but works fine just the way it is and will continue to do so(it's hardly noticeable) All other buttons and switch tips are intact and in good shape. Meter is clear and nice. Power cord is also nice with no deterioration. Built-in tube chart roll is intact and in good shape. This is a very nice tester in very nice shape. Calibrated EICO 667 Tube Tester Must See 6550 EL34 6L6 7868 KT88
This is a model 667 tube tester made by EICO. Tester was just calibrated per the manual. It measures Dynamic Conductance on tubes. I tested a few tubes and it works. Notice the 7868. KT88, and 6L6 tubes under a test. All filament voltages were also tested. This front panel is clean(only slight corrosion) and appears to have seen little use because the tube sockets are still tight. This will test octal loctal, 7, 9, 10 miniature, 5, 7 pin nuvistors, 9, 12 pin compactron and pilot lamps. I did not try to test any transistors on this. The case has some scratches, paint flakes, and some rust(nothing a little paint would fix) Meter works very smoothly as it should. The roll chart is missing but I can email the winning bidder a 29 page copy of the Instruction Manual and a 43 page Master Settings Book. This is for a very nice Eico 667 tube and transistor tester. Will test all modern tubes including both sides of amplifier tubes such as 12AX7 and more. Comes with a re printed operation manual including schematic and parts list. And a supplemental tube data manual. Tester powers up. Roll chart works well, all switches and knobs work well. Tried testing a tube and tester is either not functioning completely or I don't know how to test tubes on this unit correctly. When I try to test a tube for Merit I get an odd reading when I move the merit switch to test. So this is being sold as is as far as function goes. Steel case is in exceptional condition as well as overall cosmetic condition of this tester. Will be packed securely for shipment.
