VINTAGE SUPREME 89 DELUXE TUBE TESTER 1936 LAB Model Portable Orig Wood Case
This is a 1936 tube tester made by Supreme. This is the deluxe lab portable model. It not only tests tubes but also has a voltmeter. Ohmmeter, and performs leakage tests on capacitors.It's in the origi nal wooden case with handle. Tester is 5 1/2 x 11 1/4 x 12 3/8 and weighs 13 pounds. When adequately packed it will way approximately 17 pounds. It turns o n when p lu gged in. But that is all the testing we have done. It was working when my dad shut down his radio/TV repair business. We aren't familiar with these units. The tester itself looks to be in good vintage condit ion. Here for sale is a Radio Servicemen of America by Supreme. It is a model 503 and comes in a wonderful solid oak case. You can see from my photos that the case has no cracks or chips. It does have quite a bit of wear and the leather handle is missing(In the past I have gotten a good old belt from Good Will to replace handles like this) The electrical cord(also known as the line cord) is dry and brittle. Vintage Supreme Model 85 Tube Tester for Parts or Repair
I just picked up this Supreme model 85 at a public sale. It is missing lid, instructions and tube data. I got what I needed on internet to check it out. Testers meter adjusted to center as it should so I tried testing good 6A3 tube, I could not get a reading but bulb lit so its not burnt out. I tried a type 80 rectifier tube it seemed to test ok. Cosmetically its not bad, the top left and right corners are broke at screw holes, and a screw is missing to the right of leakage test bulb. I took as many angle pictures as I could to help you because what you see is what you get. Any questions please ask.

WE COMBINE SHIPPING DESCRIPTION: This item is being sold AS-IS. No return(unless not as described) Vintage Supreme 89 Deluxe tube tester with paperwork, as shown. AC cord was disintegrating, not safe to plug in to test so we cut off the old cord and considered putting a new one in but then found two wires with connectors that weren't attached to anything(two last photos) and stopped there. Interior looks pretty good(see photos) no apparent water intrusion. Missing two hold-down screws for the main panel. Paper is interesting, a Supreme Manual"A" tube list for models 89-S, 89-D, 385 and 89-C, plus what we think is the original set of instructions(front in paper photo) Wood case looks like it has had a covering removed and some of the veneer is missing, will need re-casing or at least re-finishing. Vintage Supreme Model 85 Tube Tester with Chart and Accessory Adapters - WORKING
You are bidding on a vintage Supreme model 85 vacuum tube tester for antique radios. Very nice looking vintage 1935 Supreme 85 tube tester. This is the early version. With the round meter instead of the fan-shaped meters Supreme used on later testers. It uses a large NE-1 neon bulb for shorts testing(top of photo 2) Set-up and testing are easy, using the chart inside the lid(photo 4) The model 85 tests all tubes commonly in use in 1935 without adapters. In addition, the original owner of this tester purchased 8 socket adapters(bottom of photo 4) that allow many later octal type tubes to be tested, He added directions for testing these at the top of the original Supreme chart(photo 4) This model 85 is in very clean condition with an excellent oak case(see photos) The cord has been replaced for safety. But everything else is original. I tried ... morethis tester on an 01A tube with borderline emission, and got the correct result(photo 3) The shorts neon indicator also worked correctly. If you plan to use this regularly. It should be checked and possibly re-calibrated. These are simple testers, but the capacitors are probably leaky after 80 years. I also noticed that button number 2 on the bottom sticks, so should be cleaned and lubricated. Supreme(located in Greenwood. Mississippi) was one of the most widely sold kinds of radio test equipment. Their products were functional and within the budget of most radio repairmen. Today they make great collectibles, especially clean working ones like this. This 85 is a duplicate of other Supreme test equipment in my collection. Supreme 502 tube tester. It does not work. I plugged it in and it does nothing. So thats as far as I took it as I do not need it. It comes with a bunch of paperwork, including the schematic, RCA Radiotron price list from 1941, Warranty registration card, Aceesories parts list, tube lists, Base connections finder, full instruction guide, Radio recieving tubes price list, etc. Wooden box that it is mounted in is in ok condition.
