This is one of the first tube testers that I ever bought and I purchased the all inclusive complete manual after I bought the tester. I think I paid about $30 just for the manual) I just went completely through this unit again: It received a Complete Cleaning Inside and Out. I Polished the Exterior Plastic Cabinet Body( got most all defects! I Cleaned the Front Face and Polished with Anti-Static Polish, I even Cleaned and Preserved the Power Cord.etc. etc. etc. I just tested this with a 12AX7 and a 6SN7(pictured)both dual filament tubes. Everything about this vintage tester works as it should! The 9 pin tube socket is starting to get loose. As is typical. It will need replacement soon or one of those fix-a-sockets. All other sockets are fine. I use an extension test socket on my Sencore for a tighter fit on the 9 pin and it works fine. All the other sockets on this tester are really tight.in fact they feel new. I do not know anything about this instrument. Except that it is a tube and transister tester. From what I can see on the outside, it looks like it's all there. It is screwed into the carrying case. The case has a few spots on it, but there are no tears or breaks. It measures 7 1/2" x 9" x 3 1/4" The handle, hinges and latch are in good shape. It is being sold in"AS IS" condition. EMC 215 Tube Tester KT88 6SN7 EL34 7868
This is an EMC 215 tube tester. I tested a 6SN7. 7868, and KT88 tube and it worked. This tester will test 7, 9, and 10 pin miniature, octal, loctal, and 9, 12 pin compactron, and nuvistor tubes. There is a chunk missing from the Bakelite case on the bottom right corner. Also part of the plate cap plastic is broken. The battery holder is missing from the inside of the case. Batteries are not required to test tubes. If you ever want to test transistors you will have to add a dual“C” size battery holder. The wires are in there(one black and one red) and could be easily be connected to the battery holder. I doubt anyone would want to test transistors with this device.
