EMC-205 Vacuum Tube Tester. Manufactured By The Electronic Measurements Corporation. New York, NY, USA, one owner, tested, seems to be in very good operating condition. But may need a final calibration. The mostly solid oak case will restore very nicely(one or two wood filler blemishes) The built-in tube list scroll works as intended. New feet have been installed on the bottom and hinge panels with Phillips screws. The original slot screws were also replaced on the hinges. Handle and console panel with Phillips screws. This is a fine unit both operationally and cosmetically. I have another good tube tester. But I am still not happy about letting this one go. My loss is your gain. EMC vintage tube tester measures 8.5 x7.25 x 3 inches. This is one of four vintage tube testers I found in an old house I recently purchased. I had a successful auction of a non working tester last week. I have little knowledge about electronics and was reluctant to use a liquid cleaner on tester. I'm sure it can look a little better. The only physical defect I can see is what I call the top of tube tester. One end has a chip. see photos 10 and 11) I checked 4 tubes from a vintage working Motorola radio and followed the manual instructions very carefully. you can download complete manual from internet. just search EMC tester manual) One tube was questionable on the shorts test. I tested some tubes that I had tested on my Western Electric and use those as a standard to see if the tester I'm trying out is accurate. The tester showed that it works fine. And this one comes with a rare complete set of original assembly instructions and drawings, as well as the original Operator’s Manual and Tube Data Manual. The tester is in very nice shape except it is missing the Nuvistor socket. I did not plug it in to try it. Comes with the original box. EMC 215 Tube Tester KT88 6SN7 EL34 7868
This is an EMC 215 tube tester. I tested a 6SN7. 7868, and KT88 tube and it worked. This tester will test 7, 9, and 10 pin miniature, octal, loctal, and 9, 12 pin compactron, and nuvistor tubes. There is a chunk missing from the Bakelite case on the bottom right corner. Also part of the plate cap plastic is broken. The battery holder is missing from the inside of the case. Batteries are not required to test tubes. If you ever want to test transistors you will have to add a dual“C” size battery holder. The wires are in there(one black and one red) and could be easily be connected to the battery holder. I doubt anyone would want to test transistors with this device. +++ EMC Model 211 Micro TUBE TESTER - WORKS +++ NY, USA
Another rare bird here, a miniature tube tester by Electronic Measurements Corp. NYC, USA(New York City! She fired up(has no pilot lamp nor on switch) and with switches in position according to manual the tube under test lit. I tried the shorts test and neon bulb does come on when certain switches are pushed up in the"P" position. Pics show a 6V6 and a 6BQ5 I had lying around being tested for quality. Octal socket activated and worked fine when 6V6 was pulled up a smidge from the tube pushed down completely position. It must have had the most use. The 9 pin mini socket acted like new. Bakelite(I'm guessing) case has no cracks nor chips. 2 screws are securing the face plate to the case. Under the face plate are the tranny. 2 caps(50uF to the meter looks newer Japan, one hooked to shorts lamp needs changing(02 at 400V) and a potentiometer ... morethat does radically increase or decrease the meter readings. Has grid cap dual ended connector on very flexible wire. Orig power cord has 70% flexibility left. The tester could use a nice detailed cleaning. Meter will zero out(and go much above or below) with the zeroing screw. I will email a pdf attachment to the winner with a scan of the original 26 page manual with tube setup chart. Chart supplement, and schematic. A neat collectable as it is less than 5.5" x 7" and is just 2.25 lbs!

Cosmetically the tube and transistor tester is in near mint condition and looks like it has been hardly used. The box is in fair condition with some wear. Both manuals are in good condition. The needle did not move in either direction. thus it does not appear to be in functioning order I don't have any transistors to test 2"C" batteries are required to test transistors(batteries not included) sold as-is for repair or parts the light bulb on the unit does net appear to be original(looks like a Christmas light bulb) this was a kit and includes all the corresponding paperwork: Operating manual for EMC Model 213-215 that lists all settings for each particular tube National Schools Kit manual schematics instruction sheet how to test transistors
