It will test 2A3. 45, 5AR4, 5U4, 5Z3, 6L6, 6V6, 6SN7, 6SL7, 6BQ5, 6CA4, 6CA7 EL34, 6DJ8, 12AT7, 12AU7, 12AX7, 5751, 6922, and KT-88/6550 along with many other audio and radio tubes. Cosmetically the tester is in nice condition. The roll chart rolls freely. I cleaned all the switches and put a new power cord on this tube tester. The electronics inside are very clean. This tester will test almost any tube. This unit will test 4 pin. 5 pin, 6 pin, 7 pin, octal, loctal, 7 pin miniature, 9 pin, and many other tubes. This unit is missing the cover. This unit works great and readings are comparable to readings on my Hickok 539A and my TV-7/B. I tested the following tubes and had good results: 5Y3. 6L6, 6V6, 6SN7, 6DJ8 and 12AX7. These were known good tubes that had been tested on my Hickok 539C and TV-7/B tube testers. Includes the original manual and a photocopy of the supplemental settings chart. Up for auction is this great Hickok 600A Dynamic Mutual Conductance tube tester. It is overall in great condition with only light scratching on the top cover as shown. The front face with the controls is in great condition. All of the knobs are in place and the roll chart works good too. As for the working condition. I am not sure but it plugged it in and could get a reading with the line adjustment although the meter movement sticks some. I did not attempt to test any tubes but I'm sure with some TLC this could be made into a great tester for you. It comes with the original operating manual which has the schematic and even has the original warranty guarantee certificate. I have 2 HICKOK TESTERS I will be listing tonight. I acquired these from a lady whose father had been a Radio/ TV Repairman in Ohio back in the 1940's& 50's. These were his personal testers and were in working order when they moved here to Florida in the late 1950's and they have been sitting in her garage ever since then. Vintage Hickok dynamic mutual conductance model 532 tube tester
Hello. Up for sale is a Vintage Hickok Model 532 Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester. This unit does not come with a case. It has been panel mounted in my shop until I recently moved. This listing is For Parts not Working. However. The only flaw I am aware of is that it cannot power the heaters of any 12.6V tubes, like 12ax7's etc. This unit does test 6.3v tubes and I use it regularly to test 6l6's, el34's, and other common octal power pentode's. If you look at the last picture. You will see a switch that I think is the culprit of why the 12.6V heater circuit is not working. Maybe you have one: I think this price is fair. Unlike simple emission testers which do not much more than show that the tube glows. This unit will measure: 4. 5, 6, 7 pin large base tubes; 8 pin octals; 8 pin micros; 8 pin in-line; and 7& 9 pin miniatures. It will measure Gm, leakage and test for shorts. Hickok Model 600A Micromho Dynamic Mutual Conductance Vacuum Tube Tester
If you are looking for a tester with a nice case. This is not the one. The case is in terrible condition. It is intact enough to safely house the tester, it just doesn't look nice. I don't know if all functions are working. I am capable of; finding a tube number in the scroll. Plug the tube in, make the listed settings, push the listed button, and read the meter, good or replace. Other then setting the line adjust, this is all that I have the knowledge to do. I do not know how accurate it is, as I don't have a tube of a known condition or another tester to compare to. The face of the tester in in pretty good condition. It has definitely had some use. As you can see wear marks around the switches wear fingers have rubbed on it. There is a lens missing over the bias fuse, and the power cord is pretty cracked up and should be replaced ... moreas well as the short test lead. The metal name plate that is supposed to be glued under the lid has come off. The tube sockets seemed to work fine on the two I tried, but all look like they have light corrosion on the contacts. The scroll is complete and works well, it gets a little harder to roll as you approach the ends. There is some writing in pencil on the back of the face. I will wrap up the two tubes underneath to be sure they are not damaged during shipping. BE SURE TO OPEN AND REMOVE THE PACKAGING MATERIAL BEFORE USE! Vintage HICKOK Model 540 Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester Radio Amp Stereo
Here's an interesting early HICKOK tube tester model 540. It tests early 4 pin tubes through those of the octal era. I have not done exhaustive testing nor did I evaluate all test settings but the instrument did power on and I was able to test a few tubes. Pictured is a 6F6 under test. The resulting meter deflection appears reasonable but the tube tester has not been recently calibrated. The test meter is contained within a carrying case. The handle is tattered but functional and the tolex-like covering is worn in spots but overall not bad. It measures 14 1/2" x 15 3/4" x 7" not including the handle. It seems to work as it should, tested a new 5V3 tube and it tested it as new. I'm not a tech, so it was not checed for calibration. Most likely it will need control pots cleaned and calibration to bring it to new specs. Some wear is seen on the face and case. Extra bulbs included. Allows testing of 12AX7 tubes both sections without resetting the machine. This is vintage audio gear. It has not been refurbish or restored in anyway. The testing involves plugging it in, hooking up speakers and an input source if needed then describing as accurately as possible what I see. I bought this at a recent estate sale.The previous owner had several testers.This one was in a box and was very dirty.I gave is a cursory wipe down,checked to see if it had tubes,put a fuse bulb in it and tried to power it up. Nothing. The 83 tube doesn't look too good and I don't have another one so that's the only testing that was done to it. I don't have time for another project so I'm passing it along. A few things I noticed: First off.This tester does not power up! The meter needle seems to move freely and when the adjustment screw is turned it does move. HICKOK 600A DYNAMIC MUTUAL CONDUCTANCE TUBE TESTER AMP HI-FI TESTED AGAINST 539C
DESCRIPTION* Here's a decent Hickok 600A tube tester I have used for several years testing only some simple guitar-amp tubes: 6L6. 12AX7, 12AU7's. etc. I'm only selling it because I recently bought a calibrated 539C tester. It would continue to serve it purpose well as a"service tester" determining if tubes are shorted, and a general good vs bad idea if a tube is usable or not. I would not rely on it for matching tubes or for selling tubes based on a specific Gm output. I would question it's accuracy. It could probably be calibrated though to achieve more accurate results(it's never been calibrated to my knowledge) In fact. Just to see how it compared. I tested 2 of the same tubes both on this tester and my recently calibrated Hickok 539C. The tubes I checked were a 12AU7 and a 6L6. Here's how they compared: ... more6L6- on this 600A = 4.300 Gm 6L6- on 539C = 5.750 Gm(where 539C says Min. for 6L6 is 3.300) 12AU7- on this 600A = 1.900/ 2,000 12AU7- on 539C = 2.600/ 2,700(where 539C says Min. for 12AU7 is 1.950/1,950) So based on these readings it looks like you have a conservative margin for error to your advantage on this 600A(assuming the 539C is accurate) Both of these tubes read well into the Green"Good" range on the 600A at that. Also. A new power cord has been installed recently. It has a grounded-plug but the ground wire for some reason is not attached. So, I imagine it could still be attached and grounded if so desired. The tube-data chart does not roll properly when installed in the tester- it binds. If you remove it from the tester you can get it to reach both ends of it's chart though with no problem. For the time I used it, I just kept it out of the tester for that reason. This tester will ship completely assembled though as seen in the first 3 photos. One more thing, the plastic lens that goes in the window for the tube chart is missing. The photos are of the actual tester you are buying, let them speak for themselves. It appears to have been made for the US military as it has military looking stamps on its wooden case. This tube tester has been stored away unused for 30 years and appears to be in fairly good physical condition for its age. It shows some signs of use and age. Its roller tube chart appears to be in good condition. I have not applied power to it to test it in any way since after being stored away unused for decades it may require service before use. Stark 9-66A dynamic mutual conductance tube tester in great working condition. Tube compliment are 5Y3 tube and 83 tube. I’ve used this unit to this day, it’s one of four of the same model that are going to auction. The 9-66A is licensed under the Hickok patent to be made in Canada. The 9-66A pretty closely resembles the same unit as the Hickok 533-A and the Hickok 750, seems the only difference is the face plates have different punch out patterns for the layout of the control knobs. the serial# is 5471. shipping weight is 22 lbs and come with photocopied manual and original‘additional tube data’ booklet. The tube data scroll works very well. The tube tester case in in great condition with no dings or abuse, very clean unit in a non-smoking environment. More pics available if requested. Hickok 800K Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester- Calibrated All Within Specs Hickok 800K Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester Very Nice Condition. Calibrated, and All Voltages Within Specifications. The RCA 83 and 5Y3GT are as good as new and balanced. Plate Voltage is 150 and SPEC is 150 +- 2 Signal Voltage is 2.5 and SPEC is 2.5 +- 2 High Screen is 129.5 and SPEC is 130 +- 2 Grid Bias Voltage@ 100 is 40.2 and SPEC is 40 +- 2@ 22 is 2.99 and SPEC is 3 +- 2 Low Screen Voltage is 57 and SPEC is 56 +- 2 Short tests works. All filament voltages are good and with a 6L6 in the socket the voltage was 6 volts which is critical to get accurate results. A lot of Hickok testers can be calibrated, but when a tube is in the socket, the voltage drops too low for accurate test results. It does not appear that the tester was used a lot and the tube ... morechart works from end to end. A 6L6 Calibration tube was very close and measured 5550 and the calibration tube calls for 5475. Very close for a calibration tube measured on a 533A. The plastic caps for the shorts and Bias lamps are there, which is always nice to have, and the adjustable POT seen in the pictures is to adjust the sensitivity for shorts. There is an abundance if information for the manual, calibration, and tube data available at no charge on-line, including calibration info from Danial Shoo. Many of you who are real tube aficionados will instantly recognize the brand-name Hickok. The big Hickok"laboratory" models. The 752 series and the 539 series(along with the military version of same, the TV-7 model) are widely considered the most durable and accurate testers ever sold to the general public. They were also sold to the US Government by the thousands, to be used in critical applications, such as planes, tracking equipment, etc. so you know they had to be built to work, and keep working. There are many stories out there, some apocryphal, I'm sure, about these testers surviving floods, mud-slides, extreme rust, extreme heat, you name it, then being plugged in- only to find out they still ... moreworked. Oh, make no mistake, they do and did break down- but it usually took a lot of use and/or abuse to cause that. This tester has some very nice features. Including a test for(relative) remaining tube-life, the ability to test dual-triodes without changing settings, the ability to set exactly accurate plate-voltage that the tube was designed for, the ability to measure the tube's reading in micromhos, test and measures shorts and leakage in the tubes, and much more. One thing it will not do: it will NOT cook your dinner for you(you need a significant other for that) well, maybe it would cook your dinner ONCE- but then, you'd need a new tester.Seriously, though, this really is considered a professional unit. This unit was sent to the well-known Roger Kennedy of All Tube Testers dot com. Who inspected, cleaned and calibrated it in May of 2014. It is in relatively decent condition cosmetically for an instrument which is more than 50 years old. HICKOK 800A DYNAMIC MUTUAL CONDUCTANCE TUBE TESTER RECENTLY CALIBRATED
This is a very nice Hickok 800A. Which is the later and more desirable of the 800 series. The case is very presentable, though has some normal wear. The tester deck is quite nice and crisp detailing as you can see in the pictures. The electrical condition is excellent and has been recently calibrated and tests very close to my Dan Nelson calibrated TV7’s. In the pictures. You’ll see line voltage being set and then testing a 6L6(tube not included) T he roll chart moves well from end to end with the typical Hickok tightness at the either end. You’ll have to look long and hard to find another 800A in this nice condition and surely have to would pay much more. The 800A was purchased as a backup and since I don’t normally use it.
