Unbuilt vacuum tube tester kit - Knight 600 tube checker
You are bidding on a very rare find. This is a Knight 600 tube tester. Which was purchased, but never built. This tester is a time capsule of times gone by. The condition is excellent. There are some imperfections in the paint of the main tester panel. Which I believe are from the factory. If you are really picky you will see some fine rub marks on the main tester panel, probably from the cardboard it was packed in. The main panel will be packed in bubble wrap to prevent further rubbing. Please check the pictures carefully. Everything shown in the pictures is included in this sale(tester case. George Kaye Audio Labs Small signal tube checker Extremely rare audiophile grade small signal tube tester. This is a really cool unit that not only allows you to match preamp tubes for gain and output. But also to audio test them for microphonics using headphones or the built in speaker; even a scope output to see the tube's actual wave! You can even hook up a signal generator or music source to the input and listen to/see the tube's response. It is in good cosmetic shape considering the age of the unit. Some scratches. This tester does preform all the tests. And functions in all positions. I have noticed the high gain microphonic test to be very sensitive. Some tubes that would work in most amp positions seem exhibit some microphonic tendencies in this circuit. It could need some adjustment. Or it might be perfectly fine. Maybe that's ... morewhat makes this tester such a good mousetrap for tube screening! I am listing and selling it for use as is. With no reserve and no returns since I don't have any way of ensuring that it is 100% calibrated after all these years though all the basic functions do seem to work. I just can't justify having it around at this point. Any ... moreelectronics for that matter. I purchased it in a lot at auction. I can tell you I plugged it in. The lights came on under the chart(picture 2) and the needle went to center. Well, almost center, in the yellow anyway, as shown in picture 9. The chart is a little off kilter. And when you roll it, it's not always even and dips and rises as you're turning it, and seems loose inside. Maybe there's an adjustment underneath to take up the slack? There is a cut/ splitting in the casing of the red wire in more than one spot. So that will need to be changed. There is a pretty good patina build up on some spots. It surely needs a good cleaning. There is also some cracking at the top of the clear"window" covering the needle as shown in picture 9. Nothing horrible. The case is pretty crappy. The covering is peeling all over and one corner is coming apart or has come apart and barely hanging together. Also. It's clearly been stored in a basement, so has that musty basement smell. It comes with the manual which is hallway decent shape. Certainly useable, and a"Tube Test Data" booklet for Heath Model TC-1& TC-2 for use with roll chart 1-1-66, which this

Vintage Heath Co. Heathkit Vacuum Tube Tester Checker Model TC-2 With Manual This is a nice vintage Heathkit TC-2 tube tester. It has only been tested to power up. It does power up with no issues. The light behind the tube list comes on and the needle on the meter goes to the yellow area when powered up. No further testing has been done. Overall this does have wear but looks good for its age. Outside case is original and has general surface wear. Corners are beat up and one is especially torn. Looks like someone added tape all the way around or it was put there by the company(looks decorative) Overall size is 14 1/2" x 12" x 6 1/2" The lid inside has a place where it is gaping but still sealed from outside. see last pic) A bit musty smelling.No burning smell hisses or noise.
