Clean, and accurate EICO model 628 tube tester with the attractive brushed aluminum ... morepanel from my collection. The EICO 628 was the successor to the very popular model 625. With sockets added to test the newer tubes that were becoming available. In addition to the usual octal, loctal, 7& 9-pin miniature sockets, Eico added 5& 7-pin nuvistor sockets, novar and compactron sockets, plus 7& 9-pin pin straighteners. The 9-pin socket is actually a combination 9& 10-pin miniature socket. The 628 also has a vastly improved roll chart. The old 4. 5, 6& 7-pin sockets are gone to make room for the new ones. But the older tubes can still be tested. In fact, the data is still on the roll chart and in the tube data manual(included) All it takes is a simple adapter you can make for yourself from an old 8-pin tube base and the socket of your choice. The EICO series of test instruments were intended for professional use. And were marketed mostly to radio and TV repairmen through the local electronic parts dealerships, and their construction shows it. The professional looking brushed aluminum panel was designed to inspire confidence in the customer who saw it, and the heavy steel case of this instrument was intended to protect it well. The circuit was licensed from Triplett and is the same as the Triplett 3413. Heath and Knight also licensed the circuit and produced it as the Heathkit models TC-x and IT-xx. The AC cord is dried out and should be replaced. The"line adjust" control and knob are missing, the 2 wires that were attached to it inside are taped off. The cabinet had 2 sets of 4 rubber feet originally. The four when sitting horizontally are all removed. There is one of the four missing for vertical position. It looks like there was a metal label on the outside gone as well. I don't see why someone with a little electronics savvy wouldn't be able to fix this with little effort.

Vintage Supreme Model 85 Tube Tester with Chart and Accessory Adapters - WORKING
You are bidding on a vintage Supreme model 85 vacuum tube tester for antique radios. Very nice looking vintage 1935 Supreme 85 tube tester. This is the early version. With the round meter instead of the fan-shaped meters Supreme used on later testers. It uses a large NE-1 neon bulb for shorts testing(top of photo 2) Set-up and testing are easy, using the chart inside the lid(photo 4) The model 85 tests all tubes commonly in use in 1935 without adapters. In addition, the original owner of this tester purchased 8 socket adapters(bottom of photo 4) that allow many later octal type tubes to be tested, He added directions for testing these at the top of the original Supreme chart(photo 4) This model 85 is in very clean condition with an excellent oak case(see photos) The cord has been replaced for safety. But everything else is original. I tried ... morethis tester on an 01A tube with borderline emission, and got the correct result(photo 3) The shorts neon indicator also worked correctly.
