Hickok 533 Vacuum Tube Tester W/ Crt Adapter
I do not know how well this tester is calibrated etc. However. It turns on, and the one 12ay7 tube I had to test it with that i knew was good showed as such.Needle moves when button is pushed. The reel with all the tube names and properties Is completely legible and rolls properly. Main and"Short" Fuses appear to work, was unable to figure out how to test the bias fuse, but it isnt obviously blown. The 9 pin socket I tested the 12ay7 appears to be worn, as the tube only lights up when not entirely seated on the socket and feels loose when put in. I am unable to test the other sockets. Cosmetically, In my opinion it appears to be in pretty great shape, but my vintage electronics knowledge base is layman at best. I have 2 HICKOK TESTERS I will be listing tonight. I acquired these from a lady whose father had been a Radio/ TV Repairman in Ohio back in the 1940's& 50's. These were his personal testers and were in working order when they moved here to Florida in the late 1950's and they have been sitting in her garage ever since then. For your Bidding consideration in this Auction is a Vintage HICKOK MODEL 600-A Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester accompanied by a Hickok CRT-1 Adapter in the original Box. It Measures 17" X 11" X 8" Cosmetically. It appears in very nice condition, some light surface rust ina fw spots but no dings or damage. The case is complete and has normal age related ... morewear. The Adapter aslo appears in good condition, the red electric cord has a small split causing the cloth around the wire inside to be exposed but not the wire itself. The Adapter Box is very fragile and was in pieces when I got it. As shown, I have taped it all back together and, while not cosmetically appealing, it is now functional. There is some paper work with the Adapter(see Photo) and a plastic Instruction Manual Card. There is also an original Instruction Manula for the 600-A Tester, a Guarnbatee Certicficate and a Tube Data Sheet. Shipping weight estimate is 21 pounds. This is a CRT(cathode ray tube(TV) tester and does NOT test audio tubes. You just don't find them this nice! B&K model 465 for color or b/w televisions/arcade monitors Untested except for power up and I checked the voltage and it is well within range(see pic) Unable to test further but it looks barely used. Has a small scuff and stain on top cover(see pics) and some light surface rust on hinges and latch that will probably come off easily. Comes with 3 adapters. Sencore BIG MACK CR-168 Universal CRT Tube Tester
Here's one more Tube Tester that use to belong to my Uncle who worked on all kinds of Radio's. TV's, and other electronic devices. This is the Sencore BIG MACK CR-168 Universal CRT Tube Tester. According to the units Setup Booklet, the tester was made in 1986 by Sencore INC, Sioux Falls, SD, in USA. I don't know anything about this tester or how to operate it other than I did plug it in and turned the on-off switch to the"on" position and the needle under the plastic dial jumped up a little, then dropped back down. So, I assume the unit does still work. But, I do not know how to operate it nor do I have a tube to try to test it verifying its working condition. It appears to have been hardly used and is in very nice condition. It looks like a more advanced tube tester. It still has all of the numbered plug adapter's ... moreand it looks like you can test a variety of different size tubes. The case is in real good condition. See Photo's) Along with the Setup Booklet, comes the original 12-page guarantee pamphlet also. Hard to believe this paperwork was still inside it, so someone must have taken real good care of the tube tester over all these years. Nice condition, overall, with the case showing moderate wear, including staining, scratches, and a little dust. The inner components appear to have seen little use, and only show light wear. We have no way to test this vintage item, and are unsure if it is complete, or if it comes in working condition. Since it can't be tested on our end, we are selling it AS IS!
