So I put a piece of masking tape on it for now. The innards show you that the guts are TV-7D/U. The meter also says TV-7D/U. It has one extra"F" range not found in non-D TV-7 testers. Made in 1965. It passes line test. I have two more images showing the tube tester testing a 12AX7 and an EF86(12AX7 and EF86 not included) Last calibrated about 12 years ago so I cannot guarantee the accuracy anymore. TV-2A/U MILITARY TUBE TESTER. Hickok FEDERALTELEVISION TESTS 300B TUBES
This tube tester works great but does need a tuneup I've enjoyed having it. But don't use it much do I'm selling it and will be listing all my tubes in the next week too. It powers up and works great but could use a tuneup. The power cord is starting to Frey and the big porcelain tube socket is cracked and the small cord input could be replaced. The tube chart is a little tight and could use to be reset too. And there are dings in the case. But it still works great I've tested and sold tubes with it on Ebay and never had a complaint. All the meters function and are in great condition with out any cracks. And you can download a manual and updated tube charts on the internet. Please ask all questions prior to bidding. There is one stencil marking on the case that says"TV-7A/U" but the other stencil ID's and the manufacturing plate say"TV-7D/U. The tester is being sold'AS-IS' because I do not know the working condition or calibration. It has an old style 2-prong plug which I did not try to plug in. U.S. Army Signal Corps Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester Here is a great vintage tube tester for checking out those old tubes. Made for the U.S. Army Signal Corp by the Daven Corp. Model I-177-B made in the 1950's. Serial Number 1511. I don't know a thing about this tester. My brother was a big collector of military items and this was in his collection. It looks to be in good condition. Not all beaten up. Can't say if it works or not. It has the original w prong power wire plug still intact. The Department of the Army Technical Bulletin TB 11-2627-2 is still in place and in good condition. The case.It is in, looks to be factory painted"Navy Gray" over"Army Olive Drab" that can be seen through a few scratchs on the case. I replaced it with a shorter but larger in diameter resister of close to the same specifications as the original. (Hickok) Military TV-2C Tube tester, Excellent operating cond. Cal checked NR
This is a nice Military TV-2c(the lastest version) in excellent operating condition. And good cosmetic condition. This is considered by some to be one of the best testers based on the Hickok Gm circuit. I've gone through the complete cal check(there are a few errors in the procedure) and added a few checks of my own. Everything checks out fine and I've tested a bunch of tubes(see the list iin the c/o sheet(last 3 pictures) This includes spare tubes(83 and 6X4) The screen supply rectifier's(6X4) heater is on a winding of the plate/ screen transformer. This causes screen voltage drift as a result of changing the plate fine adjust. This issue is nicely resolved by changing the screen rectifier to diodes, I made a 7 pin plug-in adapter for this. Every switch, pot and meter operate fine. The case has the usual dents and scrapes and ... moreif you're fussy it could use a paint job. The interior and front panel. Including the knobs and meters, are in excellent condition. The roll chart in the lid works very smoothly with no binding. The original manual is in good condition. There are a number of manuals(operating and test) manuals available on the BAMA site: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 and Shipping will be by UPS for 56 lbs from 91784. The dimensional weight rules(UPS and USPS) for the box are what determines this shipping weight. This will require a 24 x 24 x 16in. box for safe shipping. The fuse lamp glows dimly when the line adjust it turned up. Please look at all my photographs for the condition. Mounting screws from chassis to case were missing. Received it from an old time radio guy but that's about all I know about it. Chassis looks to be all original except the line cord may have been replaced some time ago. Hickok TV-7/U Military Tube Tester (FOR PARTS OR REPAIR)
Up for auction is TV-7/U tube tester. Included is a tube data booklet. And the pin straighteners. This unit is being sold as-is. For parts or repair. The outer case is from a base TV-7/U unit. While the tag says it is a TV-7D/U, this is not correct, as the tester does not have the"F" scale which is unique to TV-7D/U units. I attempted to test a 12AX7 with this unit, and found that the filament would not fire. The line adjustment does work. I did not troubleshot the problem any further than this. Inside. It looks pretty clean and original(at least to my eye, which is no expert on TV-7 testers) This is a good parts unit or fixer-upper for a qualified technician. Vintage Hickok Military TV 2 C/U Tube Tester
This is a vintage TV 2 tube tester made by LaPointe Industries in good condition. Serial number is# 200. If you know this tube tester it can test many types of tubes with adjustments of many tube variables. I tested a few tubes with this recently after bringing it up slowly on a Variac. It seems to work as described in an online manual I found. But as with any vintage electronics it may need some refurbishment for good operation. This is also not calibrated. One small issue is a hairline crack in the glass on the signal meter. It's very difficult to see, but I wanted to disclose at least everything that I observed. Tube selection roll rotates freely and is in good condition. This is considered a portable tube tester of the dynamic mutual conductance type, but it does weigh almost 40 lbs. It is used to test and to measure performance capabilities ... moreand to determine rejection limit for electron tubes used in receivers, low-powered transmitters, and other electronic equipment. TV-2/U tube tester/ checker in very good used condition. As far as I know. All functions work properly and seem to be in good calibration. I've tested many tubes on this tester and never had any problem. All meters, switches and controls work properly and accurately. This tester will test many Western Electric tubes including 300B type. I've mainly used it for 6L6 type power tube matching. I have been selling off much of my collection since I have retired. Here are just a very few examples of tubes this tester can test: WE 274A/B, 300B, WE 310A, WE 350A, 12AX7, 801A, 807, 5691, 5692, 5693, 6146, 00A, 01A and 0Z4 as well as most loctal tubes and early double digit tubes. It will also check many ballast tubes. This tester can closely match tubes because of its ability to individually control plate, screen and grid voltages. There is a roll chart mounted inside the case on the lid that covers most common electron tubes. There are a few dings(a small dent on the bottom of the case near one of the feet) and paint chips due to normal age and use. Overall. It is very presentable for your workbench. There are also two things I would like to note with this tester: 1) As can be seen by the photos, the grey paint has flaked off especially on the left side and some on the right side as well as the bottom near the pushbutton switches. Up for bids is an early version of the United States military Type I-177 Dynamic Mutual Conductance tube tester. The I-177 tube tester and later versions were designed by and licensed to Hickok using their technology and appears to be completely original. It was probably manufactured in late 1944 and"MFP'd" moisture and fungi proofed) in January 1945 judging by the date stamp. The manual is dated 7 April 1949 24pp. All controls operate and function as they should. The meter movement is smooth and surrounded by a great looking panel. The tube tester is operational but reads much lower than it should. This auction is for a Hickok TV-7 Tube Tester. The TV-7 series of testers was well known for their reliability. Durability and ruggedness. These military grade testers were made by several sub-contractors, but Hickok was the original designer. The tester offered in this auction is the original model TV-7 and it was a back-up to a duplicate that I use in my repair/restoration business. This unit was thoroughly checked for proper operation and accuracy, all switches were cleaned and checked for proper operation and a calibration was performed to check for correct plate, screen, and bias voltages. All tube sockets were cleaned. I tested a variety of 7, 9, 8 pin octal and some vintage 4 and 5 pin tubes of known quality. The tester is performing correctly and accurately. The picture of the case shows this as an"A" model, but it is actually a straight TV-7 and all pictures of the front panel and chassis are of a straight TV-7. The case was probably switched out at some repair depot some years ago. Exterior condition is very clean, minor scratches as is typical, all knobs move with positive detents, there is no wear around the knobs on the front panel which shows this unit was used very little. The tester comes with a new tube spec book and one plate/grid test lead. The unit has been thoroughly run and will give many years of good service. Unit is packed very securely in a foam lined box. Military TV-7A/U that is in Excellent working condition and nice cosmetic condition compared to most other than it is missing the clasps that hold the tube data setting book shown in the photos. You will see in the photos it line adjusts perfectly and also is shown testing my 6L6 calibration tube which is rated at 40 and showing a reading of 40 on the meter so it is very accurate and I have tested and sold several tubes here on ebay with this very tester and nothing but great feedback. I 177-B Military Tube Tester- Hickok& Triplett Parts Calibrated& Works Great I-177-B Military Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester Calibrated and Ready to Use This I-177-B tube tester has a Hickok meter and a Triplett 350v transformer and and has been upgraded with precision resistors and new capacitors. This I-177-B was calibrated by the professional who made the upgrades and it is calibrated. The tester comes with a manual and other useful information about this tester and a three ring binder with all the tube data that is printed on thick quality paper. The line with a 6L6 in the socket is 6.16 volts on a DMM and a 6L6 that has a Gm of 5300 can be seen being tested with the same results on the 6000 scale as well as the 15000 scale. The 83 was tested on a 752 and the results were 1000/950 and 650 is the min. so it is a good tube ... morethat should last. The 5y3 was tested almost new. Please look at the pictures and you will see some chipping on a couple of sockets that in no way effect anything. TV-2A/2 Tube Tester. 1957, Low Hours, Serviced, Working. Cabinet has some wear- faceplate and tube testing operation is fine. This example was manufactured by Federal Television in Philadelphia. Faceplate has date stamp May 6. 1957. The TV-2 is the highest quality US military tester. Faceplate is in fine condition with no wear. I cannot find any indication anywhere on the faceplate this example was used for many hours. Definately a low hours example. As shown in the photos, the chassis was removed from case and circuit quality and voltages measure fine. When shorted tubes are measured in the TV-2, resistors to the selector switches take a beating and will break down and fail. Not a problem with this TV-2. Hospital grade plug installed at end of AC cord. No problems with the chart, Chart is installed correctly- no binding, no chart sag. Up for bids is a United States military Type I-177-B Dynamic Mutual Conductance tube tester. The I-177-B tube tester was designed by and licensed to Hickok. This version was manufactured by The Triplett Co. Using Hickok's technology. It appears to be completely original. The line cord and cap line plug ins are very brittle and should probably be replaced somewhere down the line. All controls operate and function as they should. The meter movement is smooth and surrounded by a great looking panel. The tip of the meter pointer is slightly turned to the right. The original manual is dated 11 June 1951. The tools and testers were in nice condition and he seemed to take good care of them. This is one of the last items we have from the estate. We know nothing about this or how to test it. Here is a Vintage Military Tube Tester model I-177B in very good cosmetic condition for its age. It does work and was tested using a few old tubes I had as shown.Tube socket A was used using a 5Z3 tested good. Socket E 6L6 tested ok and socket L using a 9002 tube tested ok.I have not checked all the sockets only the 3 as shown.The fuse bulb along with the short bulb light up.The AC cable is frayed and needs to be replaced.I also will include a brand new AC cable if you want to replace it.The tube tester overall for its age is in pretty nice shape and works.I'm not sure when it was last calibrated.Because its about 55 years old there is no warranty or returns.It will not be DOA.I had 2 of them and just sold one about a month ago and you will see in my feedback the buyer was satisfied with the purchase of the first.So if you have any questions ... moreplease email me before you bid.This will be shipped using FedEx only and payment to be made no later than 48 hours after the close of the auction. USN Military HICKOK TV-3B/U Tube Tester. In very good cosmetic condition. This acquired from the estate of a radio repairman. Conditions were not the best for some of these pieces. This one seemed to fare well as far as oxidation goes. though there was a bit of sandy dust I've cleaned from the interior. Changed the 100uf& 1 caps after noticing meter would not deflect under slow power up. Can not get meter to work even after changing rectifiers. Suspect meter is shot, but could be something else? NAVSHIPS manual is readily available online free to troubleshoot further. Included is what I believe to be all the extraneous odd tube socket and VOM connectors. These will be pulled from side of unit and shipped inside power cord storage compartment for safety. Roll chart works well with some nudging. Hickok TV-7/U Military Tube Tester Working& Very Nice Conditon all Within SPECS Hiclok TV-7/U Military Tube Tester Works very good and installed new JAN 83 and 5y3GT rectifiers. Would normally say it was calibrated. But according to the manual, it was only tested& adjusted. Bias voltages all within specs, 22, 50, 75, and 100. The plate voltage was checked according to the manual, with a 375k resistor parallel from the cathode to the plate, pin 6& 3, and it is right at 150 volts and specs call for 150 volts. The high screen voltage used the same resistor on pins 6& 4 and was at 129 volts and specs call for 130 + or– 3 volts. The low screen voltage was checked and at 56 and specs call for 56 volts. Also, checked the line voltage with a 6L6 in the socket and it is at 6.1 volts. This was all in the manual and all the manuals and ... moreupdated tube data can be found here: Tested a 6L6 and there are pictures of that test below and the data says the minimum for a 6L6 is 25 and this one tests at 35. The meter reads on a 0– 120 scale and I am sure there is a way to convert to Gm. But that info was not included in any of the manuals. One side of steel cabinet must have made contact with something like a wet carboard carton. The other cabinet surfaces are fine with not much wear and almost no oxidation. Faceplate is fine with no sign of finger tip wear- controls have the feel of a new tester. Initial tube measurement showed a low reading. I have tested a number of tubes including 6L6 and many audio tubes and I am getting the readings I would expect comparing them to my Hickok and Triplett testers. The case has a dent or two but the paint is very nice and the inside is clean and all sockets are tight. Has a socket saver in the octal socket. The tube chard book is nice and I am including a copy of the military manual and supplemental ... moredata and voltage alignment data. I do not see any tube socket adaptors that may have been with it but it certainly tests the bulk of the tubes you will test and if you are looking at this listing you know the value of a very nice TV-7-U. I fully guarantee it and if you find the alignment is off to any degree I will work with you to have this rectified but I feel it is good to go. Powered by

Military TV-2C/U Tube Tester TV-2 300B KT88 6L6 EL34 Must See
This is a very nice Military TV-2C/U tube tester made by Elion Instruments Inc. This is the cleanest TV-2C/U I have seen. And I have seen a lot. It is partially restored as noted below. It has not seen much use judging from the excellent condition. The TV-2C/U is the more modern of the TV-2 series and is built like a tank. Switches and controls are tight, snap into place, and are not worn out. It was purchased direct from the Military. Serial number is 91. I tested this set and it is working as seen from the photos. Notice the 6L6G, KT88, and 6L6 reference tube under a test. All meters are working and are not sticking. The bias, plate, screen, filament, etc, can be adjusted. The 6L6 reference was purchased from Daniel Nelson and tested 42 or 5250 uMohs. Notice the 6L6 reference tube tested 87% This is about 5220 uMohs(6000 x.87) This tester ... moreincludes spare fuses, a spare lamp, a spare 83 tube, and a spare 6X4W tube. The roll chart works very well. The TV-2C/U uses 2 transformers. One, for the filaments, and one for the plate, screen, etc. Actually this tester is not hard to use, once you get familiar with all the settings and meters. This will test 4, 5, 6, 7 prong, 7 pin, 9 pin, octal, loctal, acorn, sub min 7, sub min 8, sub min 8 long pin, and transmitting 7 pin tubes. I can email pdf files of the manual and tube settings if desired to the winning bidder. I can also email an excel spreadsheet with over 2400 tube settings. This will test the 300B, KT88 tubes, and thousands more. All filter capacitors have been replaced with new stock. All old carbon resistors were replaced with new and modern resistors. The plate and grid lead wires were replaced. I never drill holes and like to keep the chassis looking original. Tester may need some more checking out, adjusting, etc, due to age. Hickok 547A Military Tube Tester- Calibrated- All Within Specs- Upgraded Hickok 547A Military Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester In a heavy-duty metal case. NOS Tung Sol JAN 5Y3GT, and as good as new RCA JAN 83 mercury rectifier. Has and upgraded three-prong power cord, and some new capacitors and new resistors. The tube data chart is dated 1954 and is in great condition and moves freely. Plate voltage is 152, signal voltage is 5 VAC, and 1 VAC on low. Bias voltage is 40.2@ 100, 26.3@ 75, 13.6 on 50, and 3.0@ 22. Screen voltage is 134 VDC. Filament voltage with 6l6 in the socket is 6.3, and checked Gm with calibration tube of 5900 Gm and this 547A tested the tube with the exact Gm right on the original red dot on the dial. This is a Navy Department 1960's TV- 10/U Test Set. Electron Tube. The label states this tester is made for the Navy Dept. Bureau of Ships. The tester was made by the Forway Industries. I picked up this tester when I bought a collection of radio tubes. I plugged in the tester and it lit up so I presumed it works. I purchased this straight from the original owner a year or two ago. It is in amazing un-molested condition with the original documentation. I have printed an additional chart for tube test settings. The roller chart is intact and works. This unit is very easy to use once you get the hang of it. You just dial in the settings according to the different columns. The meters all respond and appear to be accurate. I have not performed a calibration as the unit appeared not to need one since I received it. The manual details the process of how to do this if ever necessary. You will notice that the meter reads percent quality instead of Gm. There is an easy to use formula to convert and information regarding this ... moreonline. The condition is overall really great. One of the rubber coverings for the red test lead is coming off. I would advise just putting two new in. I never needed to use this so I left it alone. As you can see in two of the pictures I was able to test some tubes for you. Vintage Military Army Electron Tube Tester TV-11-6625-274-12/1 set. 1962 This tester looks to be complete. I plugged it in and turned it on and a red light goes on and the meter goes to the middle(60) when bottom button is pushed. This unit has not been fully tested as I am not knowledgeable in the area. The case has a dent on the corner and looks like it has been repainted sometime in the past as it is a clean paint job. The handle and lasps are complete and work good with no breakage. This tester was recently purchased at an ex army officers estate sale. This tester will be sold in as is condition. No returns. Will only ship within the lower 48 States only.
