And I'm sure that when it was ... morestashed away so many years ago"dad" was sure he'd need it again. It absolutly needs a new power cord before it could even be tested safely but, after noticing some screws missing on the cover I had to open it up to make sure it wasn't gutted. As you can see in the pictures aside from a coating of dust the interior looks surprisingly good with no evidence that anything but age has deteriorated the cord on the outside of the cover, even the paper roll looks quite good. This is a large heavy object so shipping will be quoted as parcel post. If you live between the mountains like me and won't get hit by the post office for a substantial upcharge for oversize packages or just want it fast I'll offer Priority Mail as an option. There may be nothing wrong with it, I just can't get it to work right. I put a tube in, follow the chart, and the meter doesn't read correctly. So, someone with a little more experience needs to get this and figure it out. Attic find. I'm sure that in the day this was state of the art but by today's standards it's a dinosaur. And I'm sure that when it was stashed away so many years ago"dad" was sure he'd need it again. It absolutly needs a new power cord before it could even be tested safely but, after noticing some screws missing on the cover I had to open it up to make sure it wasn't gutted. As you can see in the pictures aside from a coating of dust the interior looks surprisingly good with no evidence that anything but age has deteriorated the cord on the outside of the cover, even the paper roll looks quite good. Up for bids is a vintage Silvertone tube tester. When plugged in it does nothing. It has good paint and is solid. It has a wire without an end fitting coming up through the panel. It is missing one dial knob. The tube information scroll turns freely and the print is legible. The lens is clear. I tend to believe this might have been a store display as it has operating instructions printed on the front. I have no idea as to its age. It is 12"deep and 15" wide and weighs roughly 20 pounds. Up for auction is TV-7/U tube tester. Included is a tube data booklet. And the pin straighteners. This unit is being sold as-is. For parts or repair. The outer case is from a base TV-7/U unit. While the tag says it is a TV-7D/U, this is not correct, as the tester does not have the"F" scale which is unique to TV-7D/U units. I attempted to test a 12AX7 with this unit, and found that the filament would not fire. The line adjustment does work. I did not troubleshot the problem any further than this. Inside. It looks pretty clean and original(at least to my eye, which is no expert on TV-7 testers) This is a good parts unit or fixer-upper for a qualified technician. SENCORE M TUBE TESTER(FOR PARTS/REPAIR) Sold as parts/repair unit- no refunds. This was near the top of the line(if not THE top of the line) tube tester in the Sencore line. Produced in the 1960's I believe. When fully working, this model is capable of testing for dynamic mutual conductance, emissions, shorts, life test, and grid leakage. Good physical condition. With some signs of rust on metal/chrome band that goes around the case. Handle/latches work fine. Unit weighs about 22lbs by itself. Opened up the unit to take a picture of internals for potential buyers. Saw one resistor(upper left in photo) that appeared to have some signs of overheating. And one of the tubes(upper one in picture) appears to have some white residue inside(not sure if that's normal or sign of a bad tube) Shipping charge is set for cross-country charge. Hickok 538 for Parts or Repair. NO RESERVE There are two transformers in this model and they are both working. That is about the only part you cant replace in these old testers so thats important. Heater voltage OK Plate Voltage OK( above 150 but I didn't use a shunt resistor when checking on a digital meter- so seems like would be about 150) Screen voltage OK Bias changes with bias control( about-40 at max) Meter appears functional and moves when switch is in the VOM function. Meter does not move when P4 is pressed in tube mode. You can hear the tranny hum change sound a little when P4 is pressed so I believe the tube is under test conditions just not getting to the meter. Likely location is the mode switch but its pretty buried under the VOM section and I didn't want to damage it as Im not familiar with that portion of this Hickok. ... moreso Im passing this along to someone who may be better equipped to fix. case is in fair condition. Vintage Supreme Model 85 Tube Tester for Parts or Repair
I just picked up this Supreme model 85 at a public sale. It is missing lid, instructions and tube data. I got what I needed on internet to check it out. Testers meter adjusted to center as it should so I tried testing good 6A3 tube, I could not get a reading but bulb lit so its not burnt out. I tried a type 80 rectifier tube it seemed to test ok. Cosmetically its not bad, the top left and right corners are broke at screw holes, and a screw is missing to the right of leakage test bulb. It never started smoking or anything like that and the variac transformer that I used has a low amp fuse in it and it did not blow the fuse. And it did not damage the tube. I tested the tube after words on one of my Hickok testers and it was fine. I also noticed that there is some minor oxidation. Not bad but I wanted to point that out. PHILCO 7050 TUBE TESTER FOR REPAIR
For your consideration is this very old tube tester with tube data. I replaced the power cord because it was brittle. While the thing was apart I forgot to take pictures of the inside but it was clean looking. I cannot get it to work properly still. The pilot lamp works but whenever a short test is done the short lamp glows on the same settings with several tubes. That is all I can tell you about it's condition other than it looks much better on the backside than the front. It is grubby looking but should clean up. The meter face is not busted but is scuffed. TV-7B/U Hickok tube tester for parts or repair
For auction a TV-7B/U Hickok military tube tester. This tester has been cased in a TV-7D/U marked case. The cosmetics of this tube tester are excellent. New data book, all accessories are present. All original knobs. The tester is functioning, however there are some issues it needs to be calibrated, there is some erratic testing of some tube numbers, shown in one of the pictures I am testing a 6BM8 and it tests fairly accurate, the line test works correctly. This tester can be used as it is, however to perform correctly repair and calibration will be needed. I am offering this tester AS IS, due to the above work that needs to be done. Supreme 599 Vacuum Tube Tester - For Parts or Repair
Supreme 599 tester for parts. I did a little work on this replacing one of the leads to the battery and added a power cord. It needs more work though or may be better used for parts. Look closely at the image which includes a view of the transformer and it looks like one of the leads has perhaps broken away. I only noticed this when reviewing the photos. After re-assembling, so I did not notice whether it is hanging on by the wire. I suspect so since the wire seems to still remain close to where it belongs. It could be severed though. Another significant problem is the glass lens is missing from the meter. That might be a challenge to fix. The amazing thing I found was the that old battery. Used for ohm meter functions still had a charge on it. 1.43 volts was what I found. Not bad for a 60+ year old battery! It is stated as a 1.5 volt, so ... moreit might actually give you the juice you need for a little while! The numbers around toggle switches have rubbed off. The tube inside was if I recall correctly is a 71A and tested good on my Precision 10-12 tester. I am not even sure that is the right tube. So you might want to double check that detail before doing anything more. I did try to test one tube and the meter moved. to the left however. I am sure I put the leads on the meter back on the right posts. So I am not sure why the odd behavior. It was at this point I decided to give up and pass this on to someone with a bit more expertise on these nifty old relics! Thank you for buying this!

Vintage Hickok 6000 Tube Tester. I plugged this tester in and turned it to the on position. The meter moved up towards the? mark. I plugged a 6l6 tube in and it warmed up but when I pressed the test button the meter goes from? down to 0. Might be an easy fix I just don't have time to mess with it. This is a older tube tester made by RADIO CITY PRODUCTS. INC. MODEL 808AA. It appears complete except it is missing a filter capacitor underneath, other wise appears complete. The#4 lever is stuck. It includes the adapter to test 12 pin CRT picture tubes. The roll chart turns OK, and it tests an impressive list of tubes including up to and including 7 and 9 pin miniatures, as well as early 4,5 6&7 big pin tubes. Meter appears to be OK. Wooden case outside is in very poor condition, but solid with all hardward in OK operational condition. Has the lead for the tube cap. Sold as not working as as-is. Greeting Hickok test equipment Lovers and Collectors! Up for auction is a Hickok 510X vacuum tube tester/ vom meter. This is one of Hickok's earliest testers and was discontinued in 1935. The case is in rough condition and needs to be stripped of its covering and refurbished.The face plate on the tester is in good condition.A little cleaning will make it very presentable. The plug has been cut off of the cord and one of the knobs and three resistors were found under the electronics in the case. I know from experience that technicians often cut the plug and removed knobs to prevent anyone from trying to operate a piece of equipment they deemed to be non-functional. I believe that to be the case with this tester.
