It powers up, the light works on the scrolling tube chart as shown in pictures 1 and 2 and the line set knob moves the meter pointer. This was obviously in a hobbyists house and not in a repair shop where they get beat to shit from daily use and obviously since its a desk unit and not a mobile unit it once again has been saved from abuse. This is obvious when you look at the pictures. I doesn’t have the signs of wear from hard use and the sockets are nice and tight. All of the lights work. The detents on all of the switches are crisp and most importantly of all it tests tubes properly. Honestly I have never seen one in this nice of condition. I hope you dig it! Up for bid is this nice looking clean Heathkit TC-2 tube checker. This is going to sell as is because I have no way to fully test this. The light comes on when you turn it on and the needle moves when you turn the Set Line Knob and that's as far I can test this. The red wire coating is cracked and the plastic cover over the needle is scuffed and cracked. Other than that this looks good. There are some instruction papers that are chewed up, there is a Brochure book for 1958 Heathkits. There are three fold out papers with diagrams on them. Any ... moreelectronics for that matter. I purchased it in a lot at auction. I can tell you I plugged it in. The lights came on under the chart(picture 2) and the needle went to center. Well, almost center, in the yellow anyway, as shown in picture 9. The chart is a little off kilter. And when you roll it, it's not always even and dips and rises as you're turning it, and seems loose inside. Maybe there's an adjustment underneath to take up the slack? There is a cut/ splitting in the casing of the red wire in more than one spot. So that will need to be changed. There is a pretty good patina build up on some spots. It surely needs a good cleaning. There is also some cracking at the top of the clear"window" covering the needle as shown in picture 9. Nothing horrible. The case is pretty crappy. The covering is peeling all over and one corner is coming apart or has come apart and barely hanging together. Also. It's clearly been stored in a basement, so has that musty basement smell. It comes with the manual which is hallway decent shape. Certainly useable, and a"Tube Test Data" booklet for Heath Model TC-1& TC-2 for use with roll chart 1-1-66, which this

No reserve auction. Photos of actual item. Sold as-is with no warranty. Replaced any out-of-spec resistors with original value 1% tolerance metal film resistors. Replaced leaky Astron 600 volt cap with new Sprague orange drop 5% tolerance 600 volt cap. Cleaned switches and lubed pots. Replaced cracking. Crumbling rubber grommets. Replaced cracking, crumbling grid clip test lead with new silicone high voltage wire. Replaced old, thin clear plastic roll chart cover with premium quality clear acrylic cover. Vintage Heath Co. Heathkit Vacuum Tube Tester Checker Model TC-2 With Manual This is a nice vintage Heathkit TC-2 tube tester. It has only been tested to power up. It does power up with no issues. The light behind the tube list comes on and the needle on the meter goes to the yellow area when powered up. No further testing has been done. Overall this does have wear but looks good for its age. Outside case is original and has general surface wear. Corners are beat up and one is especially torn. Looks like someone added tape all the way around or it was put there by the company(looks decorative) Overall size is 14 1/2" x 12" x 6 1/2" The lid inside has a place where it is gaping but still sealed from outside. see last pic) A bit musty smelling.No burning smell hisses or noise.
