US Navy Improved TV-7 Hickok Design -- TV-10 A/U Tube Tester VG Cond & Working
US Navy Improved TV-7 Hickok Design- TV-10 A/U Tube Tester VG Cond& Working Reads out Mutual Conductance Directly in Micromhos. Top of the line. Military Quality. TV-10A/U Tube Tester. The TV-7/ 10 series of military tube testers are considered some of the best testers ever made. The TV-10 is a larger variant of the TV-7 and has a major advantage in that it reads out directly in micromhos and has a built in roll chart. The design is supremely rugged and compact. It tests a great many types quickly and easily and enjoys wide support. If you want a tube tester that gives great results with a direct readout than this is the one! The TV-10 is not a very well known tube tester. There just weren't very many of them made and they are hard to find. It is basically an up-scale version of the ever popular TV-7. Like most other US military tube ... moretesters. The TV-10 is a mutual transconductance tester designed by Hickok. This TV-10A/U is a pretty nice example. The outer case has its share of superficial dings and scratches but inside it is in great condition. Very clean panel and immaculate interior. The roll chart works smoothly and the tube tester works just fine as well. The only flaws worth mentioning is a crack or two in the plastic instruction sheet mounted in the lid and the power cord is getting a little stiff. I compared the readings with a friends TV-7 and this set was close but slightly higher on the tubes we checked[12AX7. 6V6, 6L6, 6BQ5] It has a Navy calibration sticker from 1968, so it's somewhat overdue for a calibration[several guys on the web will do calibrations reasonably] It measures approx 18" X 7" X 10" and very well packed[double boxed] shipping weight will be 26.5 pounds from zip code 24012. Hickok TV-7/U Military Tube Tester (FOR PARTS OR REPAIR)
Up for auction is TV-7/U tube tester. Included is a tube data booklet. And the pin straighteners. This unit is being sold as-is. For parts or repair. The outer case is from a base TV-7/U unit. While the tag says it is a TV-7D/U, this is not correct, as the tester does not have the"F" scale which is unique to TV-7D/U units. I attempted to test a 12AX7 with this unit, and found that the filament would not fire. The line adjustment does work. I did not troubleshot the problem any further than this. Inside. It looks pretty clean and original(at least to my eye, which is no expert on TV-7 testers) This is a good parts unit or fixer-upper for a qualified technician. Hickok TV-7/U Tube Tester in Great Condition - Calibrated all Within SPECS
Hickok TV-7/U Military Tube Tester Working& Very Nice Conditon all Within SPECS Hiclok TV-7/U Military Tube Tester Works very good and installed new JAN 83 and 5y3GT rectifiers. Would normally say it was calibrated. But according to the manual, it was only tested& adjusted. Bias voltages all within specs, 22, 50, 75, and 100. The plate voltage was checked according to the manual, with a 375k resistor parallel from the cathode to the plate, pin 6& 3, and it is right at 150 volts and specs call for 150 volts. The high screen voltage used the same resistor on pins 6& 4 and was at 129 volts and specs call for 130 + or– 3 volts. The low screen voltage was checked and at 56 and specs call for 56 volts. Also, checked the line voltage with a 6L6 in the socket and it is at 6.1 volts. This was all in the manual and all the manuals and ... moreupdated tube data can be found here: Tested a 6L6 and there are pictures of that test below and the data says the minimum for a 6L6 is 25 and this one tests at 35. The meter reads on a 0– 120 scale and I am sure there is a way to convert to Gm. But that info was not included in any of the manuals. This is an original Hickok English(Shunt) pot from a 533A tube tester. It should work on other tube testers that were a Hickok design. Including some Military testers. This pot is a dual design 150/150 ohm. This pot is in excellent condition and tests good with a Fluke 289 DMM. It is tight and not loose or worn when rotated. It is in good overall condition and looks to be complete and all of the dials and buttons seem to work. I was told it was made by Hickok. You will also receive the three adapters that are pictured. I do not have the equipment or knowledge of how to fully test this item but it does turn on when plugged in. Hickok TV-7 D/U Military Tube Tester. I purchased this in March 2013 from C.G. Industries. C.G. Industries had calibrated the unit 12/28/2012. The unit has a small sticker above the meter with their contact information. I have used this tested to test hundreds of tubes I have sold to customers and it's done a great job and served me well. I have decided to sell this unit as I recently purchased a 539c. The tester is calibrated and in great working condition. It includes the original 7.8, and 9 pin socket savers, extra 9 pin and 8 pin adapters, one test lead, and two factory adapters that I honestly have never had to use.

Up for sale one of the best tube tester ever made. HICKOK TV-10 A/U. The TV-10 is not a very well known tube tester. There just wern't very many of them made. It is basically an upscale version of the ever popular TV-7. Like most other US military tube testers. The TV-10 is a mutual transconductance tester designed by Hickok. This unit is in excellent conditions. The case has been oversprayed, it has been tested and is OK working conditions, it is wired to 115 volts, copy of instruction manual is included. Features Uses the mutual transconductance method of measuring tube quality. This is the most reliable method known for assessing tube quality. The TV-10 reads the mutual transconductance directly on the meter in micromhos while the TV-7 only reads a relative number on it's meter. You are bidding on a Hickok TV-7/U electron tube test set. Includes the manual from Departments of the Army and the Air Force dated September 1953. Unit serial no: 468. Check the pictures. Unit appears in very good condition. I cannot attest to its operational accuracy or calibration because I never used it. I'm a Marshall amp junkie. And bought this thinking I could check my amp tubes with it. Then I realized I'm a far better bass player than an electronics tech, so it's better to let those who know how to do that do it and just pay them. I have plugged in and powered up this tester. It comes up to line. It tests a known good 6l6 quite a bit lower lower than my calibrated 539C.
