It applies individual voltages to all elements and sends a varying ac signal to the grid of the tube under test. Its actual amplification factor is measured as a Gm value on the meter. Its the only way to truly match tubes in amplifiers. This tester will handle: 4.5,6,7,8 pin large base tubes; 8 pin octals; 7& 9 pin miniatures; 8 pin micros; 8 pin in line tubes. It measures Gm. Shorts and leakage/gas. Of special interest is the ability of this tester to measure the very oldest of tube such as the two digit numbered ones like 40, 80 etc. Three socket savers are already installed. The"English" scale can be used two ways: as a simple good/bad reading, and as a calibrated Gm scale 0-3000/6000-15000. Working VGC 1959 Model FC-2 Century Fast - Check Tube Tester with Booklets
Up for sale is a Century model FC-2 fast test tube tester made by Mercury in Mineola. NY, USA in 1959. As you can see in the picture, I tested a 5U4 and the meter registered all the way into the green. I also tested several 12AX7s and some 6V6s. All tested as they should. The unit has all the original booklets and I am including a Radioshack tube substitution book that came with the tester. Besides working properly, the outside oak case is near immaculate and still has its little rubber feet on the back side. This is a very clean unit. The tester also has the picture tube tester. Which is the extra cable laying on the metal plate. I did not have a CRT to test, but I assume it works fine. The settings for CRTs are in the back of the tube chart.

B& K Dyna Jet Tube Tester- Model#606 Working vintage 1970's tube tester. Good condition with a few flaws- please read description. This is in pretty good shape for it's age. The plastic rim around the top cap is broken- it will still plug on and make connection fine. There is some damage where the electrical cord(that plugs into the wall) comes out of the testing unit, the rubbery coating around that is loose. This unit measures 11" x 8.5" and is 4.5" deep(when all closed up) The case shows wear. The snap closure works perfect and keeps the unit secure. The hinges on the back are in great shape as well as the 4 metal feet on the back of the case. The setup chart manual is 50 pages, it is very worn, the cover and back have seperated. Up for auction is this great Hickok 600A Dynamic Mutual Conductance tube tester. It is overall in great condition with only light scratching on the top cover as shown. The front face with the controls is in great condition. All of the knobs are in place and the roll chart works good too. As for the working condition. I am not sure but it plugged it in and could get a reading with the line adjustment although the meter movement sticks some. Precision Model 912 Tube Tester This is an old Tube Tester that I believe was first manufactured in the late 1940’s by the Precision Apparatus Co. Elmhurst. New York. The case is in good physical condition with just the normal scuffs and scrapes for a 60 year old unit. When the unit is powered on. The meter moves from the red zone to the yellow zone(See pictures) but that is all I can tell about the working condition of the unit. Heathkit IT-21 Tube Tester- Nice! Accurate! HAM Here's a nice. Clean Heathkit model IT-21 tube tester. It has all the sockets you've been looking for to test the tubes in your vintage radios. It'll test those older 4-pin, 5-pin, 6-pin, and even 7-pin tubes, as well as the later 8-pin Octal, 8-pin Loctal and the 7-pin and 9-pin miniatures. It also has sockets for both 5-pin and 7-pin Nuvistors, 9-pin Novar tubes and 12-pin Compactrons. The 9-pin miniature socket has an additional center pin to also accept 10-pin miniature tubes. The test circuit of the IT-21 is identical to Heath's later models IT-17 and IT-3117, and the earlier"TC" models, and the test data for these testers is also usable with the IT-21. To ensure accuracy of a newly built kit. Heath didn't provide any calibration adjustments for this model ... moretester, relying instead on the inherent accuracy provided by using close tolerance components in the measuring circuits. SquareTrade © AP6.0 1960 vintage U-Test-Em model 1901 stationary tube tester. 58 1/2" tall x 21" wide x 20" front to back. Sheet metal cabinet has locking door on the bottom with slide out tray shelves. There are 5 tray slots but only 2 trays. Cabinet is in fair cosmetic condition but equipment appears to be good working. Glass insert on the cabinet base door is cracked. Glass panel with advertising is missing from the overhead light section. Some minor surface rust and wear and on the cabinet. For testing Efficiency. Plug the tube into the correct socket and allow 30 seconds to warm up. Meter should read at the chart indicated value or higher. I tested several tubes and the values appear reasonable. I have a brand new 6U7 tube which shows a value of 50 on the cabinet chart and the meter tests at 55. I have a used 6K7 ... morewhich should test at 50 but only registers 40. Shorts or gas leaks should light up on the panel but none of the tubes I tested appear to be faulty in that respect. There is a toggle power switch mounted on the panel, however, the only way to turn off the overhead light is to unplug the unit. Pretty neat and usable unit. For local pick up here in York, PA 17406. Bought from a working shop, I've plugged it in, tested as I could, here it is telling me the tube out of my TransOceanic is leaking and dead, but everything seems to be working properly, lights light, dials dial or click, toggles toggle, no damage, cord is clean and supple, no cracks, ready to be put to work. Serial number is 4199, mails at 9.5 pounds. BTW, I know this tester came out in a field model with a cover for the front and snaps, this was a desk model, complete as sold, not a tester missing the cover. Vintage B& K Dyna-Quik Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester. Model# 650. This tester works great and has been calibrated. Comes with tube test set-up manual and a copy of the instruction manual. Test sockets for 8 pin octal and loctal tubes and 7,9 pin miniature tubes. All controls, sockets and switches have been cleaned. All capacitors, diodes and some resistors were replaced. New power cord. It is great for testing amplifier, audio, hi/fi, stereo, radio and tv tubes. This tester shows its age and the case is in poor condition. However, this is a solid tester that has been calibrated and works great. Very useful with a lot of great features. Meter face looks good and is easy to read. 1920's (?) Readrite TUBE TESTER from estate.
I purchased this out of a rural upstate NY estate. I am NOT a radio person so know nothing about it. I did plug it in(I was afraid to but the house survived) but it appears not to work. Or maybe the tube is no good. The plug wire is in bad shape so that may also be the problem. I found an antique catalog image& description of this on the internet but the image capture would not load onto my listing. This is sold as-is, as-found, so assume it does not work. B& K 650 Tube Tester with 610 Panel. Everything works as it should. The Tester is in very good condition. Comes with a copy of the Tube Chart. Also has the Instruction manual. It's for B& K 500 but the Set up is nearly the same. The Meter is shown in operation with the tube lite up. The 610 panel socket plugs into socket 41. The case does have wear. As can be seen in the outside case photos. As always tubes need to have the Short Test done before moving on to the next test. If a tube is shorted and you proceed with testing it may harm the Tube Tester and Meter. The Tester is in original condition. But not rebuilt. Buyer pays shipping and handling. Sold as is.
