Nice Hickok 800 Tube tester. Clean with excellent viewable meter. This unit has been calibrated to factory specs. The 83 tube has been replaced with a regulated SS adapter. The posts just under the meter that normally would read voltage drop across a solid state diode(which now days can be done with any digital multimeter) have been modified to allow current readings without circuit interruption so its possible to match tubes like power tubes for guitar amps with this unit. Manual and tube data included on CD as well. Unit is very clean and nice looking please see photos. Conar 223 Tube Tester. Several tubes have been tested and this appears to be in good working condition, shown testing a type 41 tube, a 12AU7 and a 5U4 all known good tubes. Includes the Assembly and User manual, the 221-223-C Supplementary chart, a Coletronics 5-2-67 New Tube Releases chart and several other papers that most likely came with it when it was new. This is a very versatile tester that test tubes from the old 4& 5 pin types to the newer Compactron and Decal types. The first socket accommodates the early 4, 5& 6 pin types, the second socket is a small 7 pin for 6B7 type tubes but will not accommodate the large 7 pin types like 53 or 59, while these types are listed in the tube chart one would need to make an adapter to test these tubes or replace the socket, the tester also has the more common mini 7& 9 pin sockets ... moreas well as the Octal, Magnavol and Loctal sockets, the roll chart is good and easily turns. Vintage PRECISION APPARATUS CO Series 920 Electronamic Tube and Set Tester
For your consideration is one vintage Precision Apparatus Company series 920 Electronamic Tube and Set Tester. It weighs almost 15 lbs. unpacked. The case laying down is 12 3/4" wide x 13 3/4" deep x 6" tall. The wood case has scratches from use and one tiny chip. Shown in the pictures, but is intact. The AC cord is dried out and should be replaced. The"line adjust" control and knob are missing, the 2 wires that were attached to it inside are taped off. The cabinet had 2 sets of 4 rubber feet originally. The four when sitting horizontally are all removed. There is one of the four missing for vertical position. It looks like there was a metal label on the outside gone as well. I don't see why someone with a little electronics savvy wouldn't be able to fix this with little effort.

Hickok 533AS Tube Tester
I have recently found a Heathkit TT-1 which works better for me. So I'm selling this 533AS. I have refurbished this tester a little about 2 years ago. I replaced the power cord with a grounding cord and cleaned/lubed the switches and mechanisms. The unit shows some wear on top but is in overall very good condition. The paper roll works great and the chassis is very clean inside. I just tested the 5Y3GT and Type 80 tubes in it on my TT-1 and they both test very good. The tester has three gm ranges: 3000, 6000 and 15000 micromhos, and also a pass/fail(English) selection. I have used it very little testing some tubes for old shortwave receivers I occasionally work on. Included are an eleven page copy of the Operator Manual and a two page copy of the Calibration procedure. I have never calibrated the unit but it seems to test ok. Vintage Superior Model TV-11 Tube Tester. Tester powers up and meter moves to center of dial. I followed the instructions carefully to test for a short. But first tube glowed for a second and then went dark. 2nd attempt had the same results. I removed tester from it's case and found inside a part in terrible condition. see photo 7 with arrow) I am not into circuitry, but it could be a voltage regulator. I could not find any other visible defects or burn sites in the wiring, but again I have no knowledge in this area. I do know if tester cannot be repaired. it is full of useful parts, and the cabinet is very solid. Photo 5 shows one missing rubber foot. And photo 6 shows 2 missing rubber feet. Look carefully at photo 3 and you can see 2 tiny screws are missing from edge of top. Photo 8 is just some parts I found in cabinet.have no idea ... moreif they are good. Older tubes& European tubes set up Manuals. Transistor manual The tester looks excellent inside. But it needed extra long servicing to bring it to proper Calibration standards. Per manual. It now works PERFECTLY. It looks Excellent outside(but few marks) There's an Eico tape on the bottom of the case w/ their# 667 51026 0044 OVERHAUL: The tester was operational. But I wanted to but to bring it to proper Calibration standards. Per Manual- it needed extra long servicing- THE RIGHT WAY: Changed Plate potentiometer w/ a Wire Wound MALLORY Industrial Grade type. Changed Leakage& Line resistors. Matched within 2% resistance- ... morebetter than the originals- the Manual says they've to be of equal value. Installed 2 New diodes& a New Electrolytic capacitor. I painted& installed a NEW Pilot Light. Took apart the meter& straightened its pointer. Installed missing screw/nut for Push Buttons assembly. This was very important. As some PB's weren't holding! Removed residue of old tape(you still see it inside the cover. Picture 1) Cleaning throughout. CALIBRATION: Per attached Instruction Manual. TESTING on the Mutual Conductance scale 0- 140; Note that what you see in the pictures are very resembling to the results on my Upgraded Stark 8-77(~= Hickok 6000/A) Mutual Conductance tester: 1. Russian Army 6P6 = 6L6. No leaks 2. A Leaking tube. 3. 5U4GB. P 1 = 94 = Mid Good, P 2 = 94 = Mid Good( make sure you switch the Grid pot OFF = 0. Per instructions) No picture. 4. 6CW4 Nuvistor- 94. Simpson 1000 Tube Tester. Several tubes have been tested and this appears to be working just fine but it may have a problem, the line adjust control gets hot, this may be normal for this tester or it may be foretelling of an imminent failure. Other known problems are the 9 pin mini socket will need replaced as it makes intermittent contact though it feels tight and the roll chart has been taped in a couple of areas and has a few other bad spots, only a couple of areas are un-readable, the chart is also off line and crocked through the window. Shown testing a type 55 tube, a 12AU7 and a 5Z3 all known good tubes, includes the User manual which is in good condition, the manual has the circuit diagram in the back should one need it. Here is the link to the manual and master tube data: This is a very well built tester in a battleship-gray metal case. The meter is exceptionally clean and works great. The tester works. But the roll chart is hard to turn in areas and does not feel reliable. It would be a good idea to just use the tube data available free to download rather than mess with the chart. The case looks rough, but is solid and clean where it counts. The number 5 button got stuck down and I had to pull it up(probably just needs some Deoxit for lubrication) I checked a couple of tubes and there are ... morepictures of a used 6L6 being tested that had the same test results as the other Eico 667 that we also have listed and the two were from the same owner. The previous owner said he had calibrated the tester and it is very simple and directions are available for download. There are two potentiometers that are pictured, one is to calibrate the leakage and the other is to calibrate the line. We are not very familiar with Eico 667 tube testers and we were surprised to read in the manual that this tester does indeed test mutual conductance or Gm. According to the manual. it has an emission test for diodes and rectifiers, and a Dynamic Conductance( combined plate conductance. Mutual conductance, and emission) reading for triodes. This I-177-B was calibrated by the professional who made the upgrades and it is calibrated. The tester comes with a manual and other useful information about this tester and a three ring binder with all the tube data that is printed on thick quality paper. The line with a 6L6 in the socket is 6.16 volts on a DMM and a 6L6 that has a Gm of 5300 can be seen being tested with the same results on the 6000 scale as well as the 15000 scale. The 83 was tested on a 752 and the results were 1000/950 and 650 is the min. so it is a good tube ... morethat should last. The 5y3 was tested almost new. Please look at the pictures and you will see some chipping on a couple of sockets that in no way effect anything. They are not loose, they do not feel loose, and have no effect on testing tubes are still solidly in the tester. The pictures should help with the description. hickok model 15750-L1 tube tester made for the Western Electric Co. very nice!!
Up for bid is a Hickok built KS-15750-L1 tube tester. This machine is similar to the Hickok 539-c and was built for the Western Electric Company by Hickok and includes testing data for Western Electric tubes such as the 300B etc. both on the roll chart and in the supplementary tube data manual. Included in this sale are the following: The tester. A grid cap lead, a larger plate cap connector so you can build a lead that will allow you to check tubes such as an 811A without holding the grid cap lead to the plate cap(see picture) a copy of the operations manual and a copy of the Obsolete Supplementary Test Data Manual, and the Daven 4416B Self Bias Decade Resistor. In my opinion, the condition of this unit is very good both cosmetically and functionally. The cabinet is clean inside and out as is the tester itself. The face of the tester has ... moresome light scratching and the repainted cabinet has some scratches also(see pictures) All meters, switches and pots work well-roll chart does too. The only fault I could find with any of this is that the far left filament switch is a little stiff in a couple of positions, but I think that this is more from lack of use than anything. I deoxed it and lubed it and that helped. I tested tubes in what I think to be the most used sockets and had no problems with connectivity(specifically the octal, 4, 6, 7, 9, pin sockets) Taken all together, with the way the switches and pots work and given the tightness of the tube sockets plus no distinguishable wear around the thumbwheel for the chart roller I don't believe that this tester has had a great deal of use. Mercury 2000 Mutual Conductance & Emission Tube & Transistor Tester NICE
Here's a very nice Mercury 2000 mutual conductance and emission type tube tester that also does transistor testing. It's been lightly used and stored most of the time for many years. You can see the tester itself is beautiful, although the case has a few scuffs in it. Also the front two feet are missing- I actually removed them years ago so it would tilt ever so slightly toward me in the shop to avoid a light reflection. I always thought I'd save them and put them back on sometime, but that obviously didn't work. near as I can tell this is still working perfectly, I tested a couple known good tubes and got the results I was expecting. However since there are nearly an infinite amount of settings and combinations it's hard to say with 100% accuracy that it's perfect. And you probably know that for serious, hard core ... morework, these really need to be restored to bring them up to 100% spec. But for the typical hobbyist these are really good machines, and I believe share a circuit with a Hickock model, I can't remember exactly but someone did tell me that. Superior TV-11 Tube Tester with the Original Manual and Tube Data The tester has been tested thoroughly and we have tested many tubes on it. It does have a calibration potentiometer for the mains voltage and it has been calibrated. And some old resistors and capacitors replaced to ensure to be trouble free for years to come and can test almost every tube type. A 5R4 is being tested in the pictures for quality and filament continuity on both sections. The tester also has a noise test that uses a regular headphone jack(1/4 inch) and it works as well. That any tube is tested in the diode mode. It is a way to go, and I have found some that are working amazingly well, like for instance the Superior Instruments TV10 or TV11. They look so old fashioned, you would not give much for it. However they have all modern sockets, even a subminiature socket. They have a quite complete roll chart, plus a calibration potentiometer for the mains voltage. The rectifier for the meter is a tube with the TV10, and solid state for the TV11. It means you have to pay some attention to the TV10's and TV11 rectifier circuit, which measures the mains voltage. The TV10 and TV11 separate the bad tubes from the good ones in a reliable way, and leakage test is working very good. lamp must go one below 300.400k Ohms) The wooden case is solid oak wood, which can be restored very nice. Calibration instructions: Set the potentiometer until the rated voltages appear on the transformer. Vintage EMC Electronic Measurements Corp. Radio Tube Tester Model 213/15 Works!
EMC vintage tube tester measures 8.5 x7.25 x 3 inches. This is one of four vintage tube testers I found in an old house I recently purchased. I had a successful auction of a non working tester last week. I have little knowledge about electronics and was reluctant to use a liquid cleaner on tester. I'm sure it can look a little better. The only physical defect I can see is what I call the top of tube tester. One end has a chip. see photos 10 and 11) I checked 4 tubes from a vintage working Motorola radio and followed the manual instructions very carefully. you can download complete manual from internet. just search EMC tester manual) One tube was questionable on the shorts test.
