The posts just under the meter that normally would read voltage drop across a solid state diode(which now days can be done with any digital multimeter) have been modified to allow current readings without circuit interruption so its possible to match tubes like power tubes for guitar amps with this unit. Conar 223 Tube Tester Tested Working
Conar 223 Tube Tester. Several tubes have been tested and this appears to be in good working condition, shown testing a type 41 tube, a 12AU7 and a 5U4 all known good tubes. Includes the Assembly and User manual, the 221-223-C Supplementary chart, a Coletronics 5-2-67 New Tube Releases chart and several other papers that most likely came with it when it was new. This is a very versatile tester that test tubes from the old 4& 5 pin types to the newer Compactron and Decal types. The first socket accommodates the early 4, 5& 6 pin types, the second socket is a small 7 pin for 6B7 type tubes but will not accommodate the large 7 pin types like 53 or 59, while these types are listed in the tube chart one would need to make an adapter to test these tubes or replace the socket, the tester also has the more common mini 7& 9 pin sockets ... moreas well as the Octal, Magnavol and Loctal sockets, the roll chart is good and easily turns. The case is solid but shows its age, the tolex has some rips and tears and it looks like some paint has run down one side as seen in the last photo, the handle is good, the inside panel looks good and all switches and controls do work but but there are tiny dark speckles on the panel and meter possibly from paint over-spray, these may or may not clean up, due to its age this is sold as-is. Vintage PRECISION APPARATUS CO Series 920 Electronamic Tube and Set Tester
For your consideration is one vintage Precision Apparatus Company series 920 Electronamic Tube and Set Tester. It weighs almost 15 lbs. unpacked. The case laying down is 12 3/4" wide x 13 3/4" deep x 6" tall. The wood case has scratches from use and one tiny chip. Shown in the pictures, but is intact. The AC cord is dried out and should be replaced. The"line adjust" control and knob are missing, the 2 wires that were attached to it inside are taped off. The cabinet had 2 sets of 4 rubber feet originally. The four when sitting horizontally are all removed. There is one of the four missing for vertical position. It looks like there was a metal label on the outside gone as well. I don't see why someone with a little electronics savvy wouldn't be able to fix this with little effort.

The unit is missing some of the plastic knobs, as well as two screws that hold the tester within the cabinet(simple to replace) The face is cleaner than the cabinet, but over it looks far better than some I have seen! This unit was acquired from a gentleman who used to repair/restore older tube radios as a hobby. It has been several years since he has tinkered with any of these. Hickok 533AS Tube Tester
I have recently found a Heathkit TT-1 which works better for me. So I'm selling this 533AS. I have refurbished this tester a little about 2 years ago. I replaced the power cord with a grounding cord and cleaned/lubed the switches and mechanisms. The unit shows some wear on top but is in overall very good condition. The paper roll works great and the chassis is very clean inside. I just tested the 5Y3GT and Type 80 tubes in it on my TT-1 and they both test very good. The tester has three gm ranges: 3000, 6000 and 15000 micromhos, and also a pass/fail(English) selection. I have used it very little testing some tubes for old shortwave receivers I occasionally work on. Included are an eleven page copy of the Operator Manual and a two page copy of the Calibration procedure. I have never calibrated the unit but it seems to test ok. Up for auction is a clean used Weston 981 Type 3 Tube tester. I purchased this tube tester 3+ years ago to test VR(voltage regulator) tubes and to more accurately test other vacuum tubes. At the time I only had a small Sencore tester. Two years ago I sold off all my Hallicrafters equipment. And last year I sold off all my Collins and Drake tube equipment. Therefore. This fine tube tester is now surplus to my needs. I have had it in a closet for the past year because it is just a sweet piece of test equipment and I did not want to part with it. Vintage Superior Model TV-11 Tube Tester. Tester powers up and meter moves to center of dial. I followed the instructions carefully to test for a short. But first tube glowed for a second and then went dark. 2nd attempt had the same results. I removed tester from it's case and found inside a part in terrible condition. see photo 7 with arrow) I am not into circuitry, but it could be a voltage regulator. I could not find any other visible defects or burn sites in the wiring, but again I have no knowledge in this area. I do know if tester cannot be repaired. it is full of useful parts, and the cabinet is very solid. Photo 5 shows one missing rubber foot. And photo 6 shows 2 missing rubber feet. Heathkit Vintage VTVM Model V-7 Voltmeter (with aluminum handle)
Here we have a vintage Heathkit Vacuum Tube Voltmeter. Model V-7. The meter is in very good shape. Outside is dusty, inside is very clean, with no battery damage. There are a couple of scuffs on the meter cover, but no cracks or breaks. The ac power cord has tape on the plug end as well. I cannot tell if the meter is accurate, since I do not have the probes, but it does power up when plugged in, as the indicator light comes on. Still, since I don't know anything about it, the auction is for an AS IS item. Please check out the other vintage electronics I currently have listed. I will ship international. But rates vary. Western Electric KS-15750-L1 Tube Tester KS-15750-L1 is make by Hickok for Western Electric. This KS-15750-L1 Comes with: original manual- copy of the manual- calibration procedure- tube test data The KS-15750-L1 can test the vast majority of WE tubes and other brands. The WE 205D. 101D, 102D, and other WE tennis ball tubes can be tested as well in the 4-Pin socket. I think the KS-15750-L1 is better than the 539C and TV-7D. The KS-15750-L1 has the Jumbo 9-Pin(Magnoval) Tube socket. Therefore. The KS-15750-L1 can test WE 437A. 436A, 418A etc. The case is aluminum. Unlike the cheap case of the 539C. I recently serviced and calibrated this tester. All the voltages are correct. The Gm values in all ranges are correct. It is in excellent working condition and is accurate. Signal Corps I-177-B Mutual Conductance Tester W/NOS HS-16A Headset!
For sale is a used Signal Corps I-177-B Dynamic Mutual Conductance tester"and" a NOS/NIB HS-16A headset. This tester is in good working condition overall. I acquired it recently with little history so performed the following procedures: Put it on a variac and started at 40 volts to 120 volts over a two day period. Replaced the fuse bulb with an NOS bulb(after I broke the original working bulb) Tested a sample of tubes including rectifier and power in 80% of the sockets and compared results to my calibrated(by Dan Nelson) TV-7D/U tester. Performed a light surface cleaning In general I would say the tubes tested on the I-177-B came out a little lower(5%15% than my TV-7. However I have 3 calibrated TV-7's and this one is the higher testing of the three. In other words, the I-177-B wasn't very far off the mark. The tester does ... moreshow signs of light oxidation and a few paint chips, but the sockets were tight and made good contact. The original documentation is very weathered but usable. The power cord is very pliable and should not need to be replaced. The metal case is decent with no major damage/dents. Serial Number is#6693. The headset as you may know was originally intended to test for noise on these testers as well as TV-7's and Hickok 539's. I have never performed this type of test but might give it a try. Your headset will come in an original unopened paper foil package. The one you see pictured is one my others so you can get the idea. Please note this an"as is" auction and you understand the issues with vintage electronics. This unit and headset will be packed with great care. The Roll Chart is in good working condition. It turns freely and smoothly. Photocopy of User's Manual, Test Data will be included. The tester is working condition and has been calibrated recently. The meter is original and accurate. The type 83 rectifier for Plate voltage supply and 5Y3GT for Green& Bias voltage have been replaced with strong tubes.
