This auction is for a NRI Professional Model 67 Radio Tube Tester. The Serial Number on this machine is 1750. The case has a few very small dents in it. But none o f the pa int has come off expose the metal to rust. This machine has been in storage for a couple of years. But was in working condition the last time we tried it out. VINTAGE NRI MODEL 70 TUBE TESTER WOOD CASE
I DO COMBIND SHIPPING Built by Precision Apparatus Co for NRI. The high-quality craftsmanship of the NRI Professional model 70 tube tester is readily apparent. It has a beautiful hardwood case(appears to be oak or birch) with finger-joint construction. Eight rubber feet protect your desktop in both the working position and the standup position. Internally, the tester uses a large beefy transformer and quality Pace(Precision Apparatus) meter movement. The tester has very small size, measuring only 10.75 x 10.75 x 6.25 inches(27cm x 27cm x 16cm) and weighs a hefty 10.4 lbs(4.7 kg) Most of the weight is due to the large transformer and hardwood case. The NRI 70 has eight built-in sockets consisting of 4-pin, 5-pin, 6-pin, 7-pin large, 7-pin miniature, octal, loctal, and 9-pin miniature. All sockets use standard wiring(1-to-1, 2-to-2, etc. and ... morethe control lever numbers correspond to their RTMA pin numbers(Lever 1 controls socket pin 1, Lever 2 control socket pin 2, etc. The makes operation much more simple than testers using non-standard socket wiring because each operating lever corresponds to its RTMA pin number(eg: moving lever 5 engages pin 5 for the tube) Standard RTMA wiring also allows you to easily make a Novar or Nuvistor socket adapter if so desired. n.r.i. professional tube tester. Model 70 in a beautiful restored classic wood case. the top exterior is in ex-cond this tube tester is from around the late 1950s.this tester seems to be in working condition as i tested it with only one tube that i could find. the roll chart is in good cond. the control switchs are good and power cord,cap wire good also comes with other original booklets,tube charts and instructions from n.r.i. all in all i don't know the condition of the capacitors and resistors in this tube tester I am not a expert at this but at some time they should be replaced being that they are over 50 years old. because of the age of this tube tester it is being sold in as is condition.thanks for loooking

Excellent Rare Old Vintage NRI ~NATIONAL RADIO INSTITUTE~ Model 68 Tube Tester
This is a great looking old model 68 tube tester from the old radio tech's estate. Thia had been in a box for years. The metal holder case is great shape with no dents or bad scratches in it. The latch on the lid works perfectly and holds lid tight closed. Hinges are tight and not loose fitted. This still has all 5 rubber feet that are soft and not cracked or broken. The face plate of this is nearly perfect with no scratches or dirt. The gauge is not cracked or broken and it works. The wires of this are not cracked or broken. I tried this out on a couple different tubes and it worked great on them. All knobs are present and they all move as they are suppose to move. The paper orerating instruction book in the lid is not the best of shape. Some pages are torn and loose from the staples. The leather holder stap on the top of the lid is ... moresoft also. It is not broken and stitching around it is not cut. This is just as I got it so I cannot guarantee it. You are buying this as you see it. It is heavy also. Vintage NRI Professional Tube Tester. Serial 2779. comes with picture tube adapter too. Also has Supplement to model 70 tube tester roller chart. Tube chart works fine. I did get the fil.short light to leakage check to light with a 6AS8 tube in socket for testing. All seems to be working just fine. This could use a new ac cord has some cracking in places of the shielding jacket.

This is a old model 44 meter manufactured by the national radio institute of waging ton D.C by the Triplett elect intr. Co. Of Bluffton. Ohio.Initially,NRI offered a very basic mutimeter with the courses and the"Professional"line of meters generators,etc which did not come with the courses and were always sold separately. These were made by Precision Apparatus Company in some cases while Triplett made others all with the title"NRI Professional" on the exterior. They were far better than the original course-supplied meter but priced within the reach of begining radio shop owners and supplied in built up form. This is not one of the models produced by students when they took the course. It has some scratches on it but is in working order. U.S buyers only. Here I have a vintage NRI Professional Vacuum Tube Tester Model 70. Serial no. 1375 for parts or repair. Bottom case is pretty solid but is missing the top cover. Knobs turn, levers go up and down, roller at the bottom turns both ways, glass covering the meter is dirty underneath and loose. The two windows at the bottom are also obscure.
