Prometheus Audio Apollo passive/active tube preamp - 220/240 volts
Selling a used and excellent sounding Prometheus Audio Apollo passive/active tube preamp. This is the company's higher range model and it is a 2 in 1 dual mono preamp where you get both passive TVC mode and active tube mode. In passive mode it is transformer couple(TVC) to give a neutral sound without sounding weak unlike other normal passive preamps. If you like tube sound then just flip on the power mode from the separate tube power supply and you get full warm musical sound. There are 3 sets of inputs( 2 rca and 1 XLR balance) as well as 3 sets of preouts( 2 rca and 1 XLR balance) Please refer to the picture for actual set sold and do note the 3 large wooden knobs. The knob in the center is the selector for the 3 inputs. The knobs on the extreme left and right are separate Left/Right volume knobs. It uses a single 12AU7 tube and the entire radio runs off off of any 12 volt DC power source making this a safe and fun tube radio. The set covers approximately 5-15 MHz and includes a nice vintage set of high impedance headphones. The construction is very very good for a homemade piece and displays nicely. You will need a good wire antenna to use with this radio. A 50 foot wire is recommended along with a good earth ground. I received several stations strongly acroos the tuning range. Battery Replacement for Portable Tube Radios (67.5 or 90 Volts)
This auction if for an inverter to provide 67.5 or 90 Volts for tube type portable radios. Many antique. Vintage, and portable radios built in the 1940s and early 1950s used special"B" batteries in addition to a low voltage battery for filaments. Although you can still buy“B” batteries, these high voltage batteries have problems. They are expensive, costing anywhere from $20 to $40 each, and they don't last long. Substitute batteries can be built up from common 9 Volt transistor radio batteries. Unfortunately, the cost of the 9 Volt batteries, assembly effort, and packaging, make such do-it-yourself batteries problematic. As an alternative. The hand built inverter being auctioned here uses four cheap AA batteries(about $.50 each) in a package slightly smaller than the original 67.5 or 90 Volt"B" batteries(Eveready ... more467, 490, RCA VS016, Burgess XX45, Ray-O-Vac 4367, Philco P67, Batrymax B101, and others) Four AA alkaline batteries will power a conventional four tube portable radio for approximately 10 to 20 hours. Inverter input voltage requirements are wide enough to allow use of single use alkaline, carbon/zinc, rechargeable NiCd, or rechargeable NiMh batteries. In addition, this inverter has a special design feature that automatically turns off the inverter when the radio is turned off. There is no need for radio modifications or a separate inverter on/off switch. The inverter senses the tube load when the tube filaments are active. So, the four AA batteries can be left in the inverter once it's installed in the radio. The inverter will be shipped with four fresh AA batteries installed. The two output leads are tinned Teflon coated wire. The red lead is the positive and the black lead the negative for the output. Either 67.5 or 90 Volts can be selected by a slide switch next to the battery holder. A small screw driver or other tool would be necessary to change the switch position(see photos) Unfortunately. Raytheon Type 0B2WA VR Tube - 108 volts, Qty. of seven (7) Used, Tested Good
This auction is for seven(7) pieces of Raytheon Type 0B2WA voltage regulator gas diodes in 7 pin miniature style base. The tubes are USED. But in very good physical and electrical condition. See photos. This type is rated for a nominal 5 to 30 mA of cathode current and regulates at 108 volts. All of these tested good in my TV7/U military tube tester. These tubes would be of interest to those restoring any number of test and communications equipments from the vacuum tube era. And they would be useful as working spares or replacements. Typical usage was in test equipment, receiver and transmitter VFOs, and similar applications requiring stabilized DC operating voltages. They are marked as"JRP-0B2WA" in ink, plus the glass is marked as"0B2WA" As you can see from the photos. The glass envelopes are in excellent condition, ... morewith no nicks or scratches. The base pins are straight and on-glass markings are as shown in the photos. Some of the ink stamped markings show slight signs of wear, but all are legible. The tubes are marked"Raytheon" with various date codes. A note about these tubes: Since these tubes have a controlled gas atmosphere inside the glass. They do have a purplish glow when operating. These came from a mixed lot of tubes I acquired awhile ago. And I did discard a few of the tubes as being weak in conductivity. All of these are fine. It must be remembered that the best and most valid test for a particular tube in a particular application is to insert the tube into the specific equipment which uses that type. With most tubes. Testing in a tube tester only confirms that the the tube conducts and is free of shorts. Note that this tube is gas-filled by design and has some pins internally shorted together by design. Due to the wide variety of possible uses and applications. Output 660VCT 85ma(we wrote 720CT on the transformer, testing it with 125V input, which is typical at our house) 6.3 volts 7.5A. 6.3V? amps(paint chipped) 5V 2A(for 5Y3GT. 5AR4, 5R4, or Ruby 5U4G's weighing over 10 pounds. If you are not using near the 7.5+? amps for the 6.3v, I would not worry about running this at 100ma zero signal, for something like a quad of 6L6s(which would be about 4A total on the 6.3v with some 12ax7s) For screamer 6L6 or EL34 pair. Plate voltage might be close to 330*1.41= 450v. The cabinet is fragile and/or brittle but opens and should be done so with care. You are bidding on 2 new old Sprague capacitors. Type TVL-3651.8 with their original boxes. Each has an 80 MFD element rated at 400 volts, an 80 mfd element rated at 200 volts, and a 200 mfd element rated at 25 volts. They are 1.5 inches in diameter, and three inches long, not counting the terminals. These came from a closed down electronics repair shop, and I’m not sure of the age, so rejuvenation may be needed prior to use. Vintage Crosley Tube Clock 117 volts 1100 watts AM Radio ~ Works
This highly desirable and collectible measures 8 inches tall, 8 inches wide and 7 inches deep. No cracks. This shows some light scuffs and surface wear. The clear front shows some minor scuffs and some cloudiness. Both the clock and radio features on this work very good. See the last photo for the lighted tubes. The only issue is with the black knob on the on/off switch. It is not tight enough to turn. As of now you have to take the black knob off to turn. Should be a very easy fix. This will be on the"on" position when receiving it. I do not know if the alarm feature on this works as I can never quite tell how do do it. I am assuming it does but cannot say for certain.
