This is an original Readrite model 710 vacuum tube tester. Measures 10.75 x 8 x 3.75 in case. Sold as is. Nearly all of my items are one of a kind and are not new unless stated. Down to the cloth covered cord. This item is from the estate of a person who used it to help repair old radios and suchlike. 1930's Readrite Model 430 Tube Tester
This is 1930's tube tester. This tube tester was made by Readrite Meter Works of Bluffton. Ohio. This is a small instrument housed in a wooden box that measures 8 inches wide, 8.5 inches deep and 7 inches high with the top closed. When opened, the instrument face slopes from the back to the front. It is powered by regular household current with voltage ranging from 103 to 125 volts. The tester can test most 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 pin tubes of the 1930's era and earlier. A paper card that came with the meter has a list of tubes it can test, operating instructions, and a theory of operation.This card can be seen inside the lid in the photo. The instrument is turned on with the pointer knob on the lower right. Turning the knob clockwise turns the instrument on and you are to rotate the knob until the shadow line on the shadow meter aligns ... morewith the line marked on the meter face. The shadow meter can be seen in the photo above as the illuminated oval in the top center of the panel. In the photo, the instrument has been turned on and the shadow line is just to the left of the mark. According to the theory of operation that came with the meter, aligning the marks, ensures the metering circuit is supplied with exactly 30 Vac. The voltage is critical to ensure accurate tube emission measurements. You can tell this is an old piece of equipment, the paint is fading but it call all still be read. There are cracks in the wood where it looks like it was dropped so it doesnt close all the way but i think a couple small nails would solve this problem rather easily. You are bidding on a very old tube tester. READRITE 245A, with original paper work and original power cord and adaptor cordage. Overall in good condition. You will notice, however, that the center meter has a broken glass face. This is a vintage vacuum tube tester chart for a 1930's Readrite Tube Tester.The Model 432A was made by Readrite Meter Works in Bluffton.Ohio.The 8' X 7" chart was affixed in the lid of the tester box.This one has been placed in a brass and glass frame.The frame,which was made somewhat crudely,has an aged patina and adds interest to the chart.The glass has no cracks which is surprising considering its age.This could be a great addition to a TV or radio collection or to display in a shop or mancave.Thank you for looking.

VINTAGE READRITE MODEL 442 TUBE TESTER WORKS
Very nice early tube tester Readrite model 442 in good condition. The metal case has scuffs and chipped paint but it is whole, no dents or deep scratches so it can be refinished nicely. It powers up and it is easy to adjust the line voltage for measurement. No manual or tube charts, but I was able to test a good and a weak O1A, and it showed the measurements accordingly, please see pictures. That's the extent of the test I have done, so other than these results, it is sold AS IS. Avery compact and nice piece of equipment to have in your tube radio repair bench. This is for a vintage Readrite model 431 vacuum tube tester. This tester comes with 4 Supplementary chart papers. The box measures 8.5" x 8" x 7" The box is solid oak.
