Alright folks here is a rare find. This is I beleive vintage circa 1955! Superior Instruments Company model 82A vacuum tube tester. If you play electric guitar with a tube amp you might want this. If you repair tube equipment this is a must have! That is why I have it. Vacuum tubes give you the sound that only a tube can produce. Sure the newer digital amps are great and do simulate the tube sound well but. Side by side with a real tube amp you can tell the difference instantly on the first note even if you are not an audiophile. This unit is obviously used and comes with the original instruction manual and an extra. the tube interchangability guide and the original but deteriorated case. Rapid Tube Tester Model 820/82A by Superior Instruments Co. This item was estate-found. Looks like like it's had lots of use(or maybe abuse) over the years. It may still work.Untested for functionality. But I was able to get the"short indicator" light to turn on when turning switches. So it gets power. The handle was poorly repaired, but it is sturdy enough and functional. The lid or cover has completely fallen off. I will leave it to the next owner to repair it as he sees fit. In very nice working condition. You have here a Superior Instruments Tube Tester. The cover is complete but separated from the piece, see last photo. The plug, although it works, needs a cover to prevent a little zap now and then when plugged in. This tester is in rough condition. But it seems to be working. The vinyl covering is missing- just the wooden case is included. Comes with a photocopy of instructions and tube settings. Meter has been replaced. But the meter face is original. Sold as is.

I decided to list another one of my own tube testers that I acquired few years ago. I sold many testers lately. Just thinning my collection. Cosmetic conditions is excellent. It doesn't appear as it was used or if it was used.shows very little of it. Many sockets don't even show any wear! I don't have any manuals or documents with it and case is also gone.
