Here is a Hickok 752 tube tester(circa 1962) in working condition. It comes with the following: Copy of the original manual with schematic- Supplemental manual for testing older and european tubes and a print out of the tube data roller- Adapter for testing additional tubes- Tube pin straightener- Extra line and bias fuses I will remove the rectifier tube and main tube and package them in bubble wrap for shipment. I just compared test resultes between my Amplitrex AT1000 and this tester on a 6SN7GT and the results were within 2% Tester is in good working condition. All the controls are smooth and do what they should. Tube chart will need some work as it is sometimes loose and then it gets tight. As you can see from the pictures. It is quite clean. The front panel looks VERY good. Cabinet does show wear typical of a 50 year old instrument. All tubes are tested using my Calibrated Western Electric KS-15750-L2(Similar to Hickok 539B) or my Amplitrex AT1000 The tubes will be individually wrapped and packed safely for shipping. HICKOK 752 Mutual Conductance Tube Tester VG Condition/ Works/ Great for Audio Very nice Hickok model 752. These are the famous FAA type tube testers. Clean inside and out. Excellent panel and working roll chart. There is some normal wear around the roll chart thumb wheel and short switch otherwise looks great. The outer black fabric case is in much better shape than normally found. Please see the pictures for condition. Clean. Original chassis. Tested fine with several typical audio tubes. The 752 has some special features not found on most Hickok tube tester. One of these features is the ability to check double section tubes(like 12AX7) without resetting the selector switches to test the second triode. You simply push the"Plate 2" button and the quality of the second tube section is automatically registered on the meter. This ... moremakes this tester an ideal one for the audiophile market as audio equipment is typically loaded with double triodes. Hickock replaced the 539 with the 752. These still used the basic Hickok GM two tube circuit and the 752 was considered a laboratory tester and had additional functions such as the second grid setting and capability to test multistage tubes without reconfiguration. Item: Hickok 752 Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester Tester w Manual and Charts. The unit was powered up and tested some 12AX7 and 12AU7 tubes. It seems to work as it should, tested a new 5V3 tube and it tested it as new. I'm not a tech, so it was not checed for calibration. Most likely it will need control pots cleaned and calibration to bring it to new specs. Some wear is seen on the face and case. Extra bulbs included. Allows testing of 12AX7 tubes both sections without resetting the machine. This is vintage audio gear. It has not been refurbish or restored in anyway. The testing involves plugging it in, hooking up speakers and an input source if needed then describing as accurately as possible what I see. I unscrewed the front metal faceplate(note that 2 wood screws are missing but could easily be replaced) and took a variety of photographs of the electronics inside the unit. Here is a used vintage Hickok Model# 752 tube tester. Manufactured by The Hickok Electrical Instrument Company. Originaly purchased in 1959. Purchase includes an additional used paper tube sheet reel. Has a custom black hinged case with rear storage compartment. Front handle, and 2-latches on front; has metal protective pieces on all corners. Approximate measurements of the case: 18-1/2" x 17" x 7-1/4" some dings, but for the age, pretty good condition. Approximate weight is about 22 pounds Designed to be used using 115-Volts AC at 50-60 Hz. Serial number under the handle reads: 241 10138 Included with the tester are a couple of small adapter cables. I'm not sure what these are used for. The instruction manual is not included. Vintage Hickok Model 752 Tube Tester With Manual And Accessories
Here for considering is a vintage Hickok Model 752 Tube Tester. This tester comes with its original manual. And the accessories that were left in the rear storage compartment of the case. I am offering this as-is, because I am not sure if it is fully functional. It does power up, and I did a line test, and it does work as well(photo 3) All the knobs and buttons do function properly. The roll chart is present, and there are no issues with it. It does scroll up and down, with no problems. The tubes that are with the other accessories are untested, so I am not sure if they are good or not. But they came with this, and will stay with it, if sold. Overall, this is in cosmetically good shape. The metal protective corner pieces, latches, etc. do have surface rust. Latches and handle are intact, and do function properly. The case shows wear that ... moreis consistent with age and use, but still in pretty nice shape. Please look over the photos provided, for a better idea of what is being offered, and its condition. This really is a nice tester to think about, and I wish I could positively state if it works or not. If there is another type of test I could do for you on this, please let me know. Many of you who are real tube aficionados will instantly recognize the brand-name Hickok. The big Hickok"laboratory" models. The 752 series and the 539 series(along with the military version of same, the TV-7 model) are widely considered the most durable and accurate testers ever sold to the general public. They were also sold to the US Government by the thousands, to be used in critical applications, such as planes, tracking equipment, etc. so you know they had to be built to work, and keep working. There are many stories out there, some apocryphal, I'm sure, about these testers surviving floods, mud-slides, extreme rust, extreme heat, you name it, then being plugged in- only to find out they still ... moreworked. Oh, make no mistake, they do and did break down- but it usually took a lot of use and/or abuse to cause that. This tester has some very nice features. Including a test for(relative) remaining tube-life, the ability to test dual-triodes without changing settings, the ability to set exactly accurate plate-voltage that the tube was designed for, the ability to measure the tube's reading in micromhos, test and measures shorts and leakage in the tubes, and much more. One thing it will not do: it will NOT cook your dinner for you(you need a significant other for that) well, maybe it would cook your dinner ONCE- but then, you'd need a new tester.Seriously, though, this really is considered a professional unit. This unit was sent to the well-known Roger Kennedy of All Tube Testers dot com. Who inspected, cleaned and calibrated it in May of 2014. It is in relatively decent condition cosmetically for an instrument which is more than 50 years old.
