Both items are in extremely beautiful condition, and are truly some awesome surviving remnants of America's past, specifically its participation in World War 2. Both units are still equipped with the original documentation which they came with. The Voltmeter is dated November of 1921 while the Ammeter is dated May of 1937. Similarly. Both units are stamped on the outside of their wooden case with Serial/Model numbers, as well as the Manufacturer's information and the patent dates, the most recent of which is 1901, while the oldest is 1888. Sold as-is- not sure if it works. I don't know much about this unit other than the listing title! Model 56. Serial number 2925. Last patent date is 16 July 1901. The case has scuffs and is missing a chunk where one of the hinges used to be, but it's still a cool-looking device that I never got around to playing with. I am basically giving it away because it would be sad to have to recycle it.

They were first produced in 1929 and these particular models feature Bakelite cases. The Voltmeter measures up to 150 volts. The Ammeter has a low range of 0-3 amps and high range of 0-15 amps. This item is in good condition for it's age and I would say the case is in very good condition for the age. There are some minor scuffs but no cracks or tears and all the stitching is in tact. It includes two leads and the instruction card. The one flaw is that the back cover retaining screw mount is broken and the back cover is held on with tape. see pictures) This doesn't effect it's operation at all. It is clean and neat looking. The paper in the front that tells about the tester is dated March 6, 1951. And that box is very interesting. Very heavy about 14 pounds.

This is for a Weston Electrical Instrument Corp D. C. Ammeter Model 45 patent date 1901. This was calibrated in October 27. 1919. I hooked up a battery and the meter registered a reading. This is in a heavy oak box without the leather handle. Clasp are in very good used shape. This is 8" by 8" by 4 1/2" and weighs 10 lbs 7 oz. It does have all the rubber grommets on the feet. There are a few small pieces of veneer missing or loose. Once screw cap is cracked. Please review photos and they are part of the description.

It looks to have been opened up at some time and something was wiped off of the center and lower right of the face. The age and origin is unknown to me. This is another estate item from my grandfathers collection of antique auto parts. It's possible that it may not be identified correctly or just don't know where it came from or what it goes to. I have no clue of how to test them so I am selling them as not working for parts or restoration only. The gentleman I got these from says the 15 amp and 150 shunt goes with Model 45#10657. Only other information I can give inform ation will be my visual observation. The handles on the meters are dry rotted and broken. And the model 45 voltmeter#40790 is the one with the age crack. This listing is for a Weston Electrical Instruments Model: 433 Ammeter and the Model: 756 Light Meter. You get both! The ammeter was used at Allied/Signal AiResearch labs before they bought out Honeywell and changed their name. You can still see the calibration stickers. The unit has definitely been used and shows normal wear. And the strap is drying out. It needs some cleaning. It does work and is also great for display. The light meter will be a non working unit. Unable to test it as I do not have the probes. This little guy needs TLC as he has adhesive from labels and a small area of paint overspray near the bottom.

This is unrestored- came right off the manufacturing floor into the storage room many years ago. There is a chip at the bottom of the back(1/2 inch) It will clean up immaculately. But since some people want that original look, I have not even wiped it down. Comes with nicely lined leather case. Some stitching problems at corner and strap is dried. Antique or Vintage Weston Ammeter Model 301 Measures -30 to +30 Amps
This is a very nice. Very old"zero center" ammeter made by the Weston Electrical Instrument Company of Newark, NJ. The model number is 301; the serial number is 96883. The following is stamped on the face plate just below the upper rim: Pat. NOV. 6'88, APR. 29'90, FEB. 17'91, OCT. 4'98, July 16'01. The black painted metal case(I believe brass) has moderate surface abrasions as pictured but is in generally nice condition with no discernible dents or damage; the face plate(a silver or champagne tone metal) is in excellent condition; the glass is intact with no cracks or discernible scratching. There is minor internal debris. I don't have an easy way to test this. So it is being sold as is, however, the needle does move freely from side to side and their is a recalibration screw on the lower front. Approximate ... moredimensions are 2.75" wide x 1.25" deep not including the back bolts.
