Everything is fine on this meter and it looks like it has been well cared for. The original leather handle is attached and in super shape. All the rubber feet on the back and bottom of the meter are in fine shape. I plugged this meter on my calibrator and it was working within a few percent on all three ranges. Brass plaque could use a buffing to brigten it up and make it a bit more easy to read. Very sturdy. Well made box, and the instrument is SECURE in it, no wobbling or movement. Handle appears to be a WRAP of some sort. But it is strong, and I have seen these before with similar handles, so original. Looks old. And box shows much age, but NOT abused, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if it still WORKS! I don't know, though, I have no way to test it. I put a few other notations in the pictures above. Accuracy said to be ¼ of 1% of Full Scale. Resistance at each range is 1098.4, 2196.8, 4393.6 at 25 Deg. C. 75 V terminal knob was replaced. Crack in Bakelite at upper right of panel at +/ terminal has no effect on the instrument. Some scratches on the box. Leather on handle is strong but outer layers flaking. Wt is 11 lbs 6 oz.

This is 7 ¼ inches in diameter and 7 ½ inches deep. It measures to 130 Volts AC. It has dirt and wear. I do not know if it is working. I do not mess with electric. On th eback there are 2 smaller terminals. One has a wire attached. There is a second wire but it is not attached to the second terminal. Maybe it should not be. Here is a real old vintage meter. It was made by Weston Electric in Newark NJ. USA. The pat. date is Nov.8 1888. For as old as it is it is in fairly good shape. I don't know if you would call the face brass or not. It is a heavy metal like brass but has more of a chrome color to it with may be a little brass in it.One of the little rubber feet is missing for when you set it up the one way. This would make a good display piece.It is not very often you find them as old as this.The meter goes to 140 volt. It can read positive or negative. I put 14 volts to it and the needle did move. I find these old pieces fascinating. I bought two of these at auction some time ago. Now I'm moving out of Victorian to a beach house and there just isn't enough room. Instruments such as this were used by trained technical/scientific staff for precision laboratory measurements of electrical current. And as secondary standards for calibrating other meters. The mirrored scale makes it easier to read the instrument to a given accuracy by enabling the user to eliminate parallax errors. This particular instrument was specified to be accurate to ±0.5% The instrument in housed in a 7" x 6-3/4" x 3-1/4" walnut case with a mahagony looking finish. It has a leather handle. Vintage Weston Benchtop AC Volt Meter Model 904- Beautiful w/ Leather Handle This is a Weston Model 904 AC Volt Meter that is in beautiful condition. It has individual taps for 3. 7.5, 15, 30, 75,150, 300, and 750 Volts AC. A lot of the model 904s didn't have all of these taps. Meter face is clear and the back display has a beautiful mirrored reading arch. I checked at 120 VAC(line voltage) and it worked great. This meter is very solid and weighs in at over 7 lbs. There is a small chip on the bottom of the unit and can be seen in the photos. You can't see this when the meter is in it's normal sitting position. The handle is a black leather and is not cracked or hardened. This came from my father's workshop/lab. He had tons of electrical equipment and TV repair stuff that I will be listing soon.
