Vintage Weston AC Amp Meter Model 156 100 amp
Up for auction is a vintage Weston AC amp meter with 100 amps full scale. It is a model number 156 with serial number 58413. I used a AA battery to test it and it did deflect the needle but do not know about the calibration. This meter has Patent dates of June 1892. July 1894 and April 1913. The face Measures approx. 6 1/2" across and the back flange is approx. 7 1/4. The meter is 3" from front to back with the 1/2" studs for the connection extending another 2" The meter itself weighs in at almost 7 pounds. Thanks for looking and happy bidding. Two Large Vintage Amp Meters, Weston and Ziegler
Found in my father's estate are two vintage large Amp meters. About 5 to 6 inches. The Weston Meter is quite heavy. The Ziegler Meter is on a wooden base with three terminals and looks to be made of aluminum. The needles move but I don't know how to test them to see if they work. They will be sold as is. My father collected many meters as he was an electrical engineer and collector of old radios. I am trying to find them a new home with somebody who may be interested in old meters. 1937 Weston Electrical Instrument Corp Amp Meter Model 430 w/ Zero Correct Works
This item is a Weston Electrical Corporation D.C. Amp Meter. Model 430. The meter still functions perfectly. It has a Zero Correction Knob, as well so you can calibrate it to fit any of your needs. The four knobs on the top are for Ground, 0.1 V, 1V, and 10V source measurements. The first calibration shown for the device was August 28th, 1937! It was used in a physics lab until recently, and has been maintained and calibrated during that time by the department's equipment curators. It is great little meter, and a piece of history. They don't make them like this anymore.I bought a multimeter a couple years ago and it is already broken. This beauty is still accurately measuring amperage after 77 years! It may need a little bit of external cleaning. I believe the exterior is Bakelite, so you can shine it up, quite brilliantly, with some ... morelightly abrasive metal polish. I have a few of these meters that I have collected over the years. Which are now collecting dust. So I am putting several of them up for sale to good homes. Please only purchase this item if you plan to use it as a museum or even simply as a conversation piece. While I appreciate the artistry of the Steam Punk movement. I would feel a tinge of sadness knowing that this item was dissected for its"old timey" parts. These meters, in working condition, are becoming quite rare, and it is definitely something any electronics, antique, or even Steam Punk enthusiast can appreciate in its original"w hole"form. This is unrestored- came right off the manufacturing floor into the storage room many years ago. There is a chip at the bottom of the back(1/2 inch) It will clean up immaculately. But since some people want that original look, I have not even wiped it down. Comes with nicely lined leather case. Some stitching problems at corner and strap is dried. Vintage Lot of 3 Weston Electric Amp and Volt meter, Steampunk electrical gauge
This is a small lot of 3 Weston Electric meters. I have no way of testing these meter but they do appear to be in good condition with no dents. Dings, chips, cracks, or rust, but there are some scuffs and scratches from use. The smallest meter marked U.S.N. TYPE CV-22427 ZERO POWER LEVEL 6 MW. 600 OHMS. MODEL 506 has a diameter of 2 11/16" across the face. The other gauge marked MILLIAMPERES D.C. MODEL 616 no. 2897 measures 3 1/4" across the face. The last gauge is marked WESTON VOLTMETER MODEL 301 NO. 319095 and measures 3 1/4" across the face. These would also work great for an industrial or steam punk style art project.
