This is a really nice Vintage military vacuum tube voltmeter. I plugged it in and The unit powers up and the white and red lights light up when I move the toggle switch. It has the probes and even some extra fuses and bulbs. The outside covers have some paint and l rust but inside is really nice. This meter also measures DC Milliamps and Capacitance in uF and pF. The Milliamp function is usefull for biasing tube amplifier output tubes. The large 9" meter makes peak to peak aligning of audio or ham equipment a breeze and is something that cannot be competently performed with a digital voltmeter. Vintage radio hobbiest or anyone working on vacuum tube circuits The B&K 177 was a workhorse of the electronic repair shops in the 1960s through 1980s. It has a large seven inch mirrored scale for accurate easy-to-read measurements. This meter is completely refurbished. Fully calibrated and accuracy verified on all ranges. It is supplied with a calibration data sheet showing the accuracy on each range. It is fully guaranteed to meet or exceed the original manufacturer’s specifications. This meter is factory assembled(not a kit) and has a large 7 inch meter with separate low ac volts scales. It exceeds the manufacturer’s specs on nearly all ranges and readings. Spec is 3% of full scale on dc and 5% on ac. This one is within 1% on ... moreall but four checkpoints and 3% on those four. See the calibration data sheet picture. This instrument is in good cosmetic condition with the exception of the escutchen. Which shows wear(see photo) however everything is readable. The meter face is clear. The case has been re-painted. This VTVM was factory-designed with no need for an ohms battery or a rectifier tube for ac volts. It has only one tube. The 12AU7. AC volts use silicon diodes and the ohms function is powered from the filament supply. Here is a vintage Hickok model 209A VTVM vacuum tube voltmeter and capacitance capacitor tester meter. In good to VG physical condition, and sort-of-working electrical condition- both the"center zero" and regular"zero" functions work fine, meter needle moves smoothly and evenly throughout entire range, all tubes test strong, and all components(except power cord) look original so may well need some replacing of out-of-spec capacitors and resistors, so selling as a to-repair set- but you're off to a good start with this one. Used HP 410B Vacuum Tube Voltmeter. Purchased from electrical engineer's estate that had a shop/lab of test equipment used for his projects. He looked very meticulous and therefore would assume working just fine. Only testing performed was powering up and rotating selector knob. When tubes warmed up. Selector on" needle shot to right then drifted back to about.1 volts, then moved selector to"+" and needle went below zero volts, then moved selector knob to AC and it when to about.05 volts, then moved selector to ohms and it moved all the way to the right and held there. Vintage radio hobbyist or anyone working on vacuum tube circuits This is a large instrument with a six inch meter. It is more than twice the size of the smaller 4.5 inch Heathkit VTVMs you commonly see. Heathkit marketed it as their“Service Bench VTVM” because of some unique features designed for that application. It has separate ac voltage scales for the two lowest ac ranges for greatly improved accuracy on those ranges over the smaller 4.5 inch meters. It also has multi-turn zero and ohms adjust controls that make adjustment much easier than on most VTVMs. This instrument has a bracket that rotates a full 360 degrees(see photo) which can be used as a stand(as shown) or a mounting bracket to mount the instrument to the wall or the bottom ... moreof a shelf. Thus saving shelf space. This particular instrument was assembled by someone who really knew how to build electronic equipment. See the photo showing the wiring. This VTVM is fully calibrated with accuracy verified on all ranges.
