Vintage Collectible- Heathkit IM-17 Solid State Voltmeter + carrying case
Heathkit IM-17 Solid State Voltmeter + plastic carrying case. The Utility Solid State Voltmeter IM-17 came on the market in 1967 and was produced until 1977. In 1979 the IM-17 was replaced by the IM-5217 and was produced until 1987. There is only minor differences between the two and it is mostly a matter of look and feel. This was my farther in laws and he wrote on the plastic case OFF? I don't know if this works or not. The batteries have been removed so there is no battery damage. pictures say the rest.

This is a utility solid state voltmeter in a case, it has 3 lead that come out, one with a alligator clip(probably for ground) and 2 that have probe tips(one red, one black) It seems to be in working conditions, when I touched the leads to a battery I got a reading. Nice compact meter- originally it used a 8.4 V mercury battery to power the meter- these are no longer available, I tested and adjusted it with a standard 9V battery instead(and the usual 1.5V C cell for ohms) I can supply a 9V battery connector if you don't have one of your own, just ask upon checkout, I'll charge another dollar to provide the connector and solder it in for you. VINTAGE HEATHKIT Solid State VOM Model IM-25 Voltmeter
This Heathkit IM-25 is not in working condition. It looks professionally wired- may have been wired at the factory. Missing one screw that holds down the top. There is some rust on the plated screws. And a previous owner has engraved his name on the front and back panels. Missing several stick-on feet. The end caps for both battery holders are present. But are broken. Several of the wires to the battery holders are broken. The unit is dirty. But appears to be unmolested and original. Otherwise. The unit is complete, and has all unbroken knobs. The meter face is clean and undamaged. Sold as-is. For parts or repair. Included is a CD containing a PDF copy of the assembly manual with parts list and schematic.
