Shown is a nice old' ANTIQUE VOLT/ AMP DOUBLE METER' Brass housing with an aluminum back plate. 7" x 3 3/4" x 2 3/4 inches. Maker marked to the' Roller Smith Co. Bethlehem. Pa USA' I have no way of telling if this is in working order- could still work perfectly. But selling as a display item. Both needle move when the meter is moved. There is an internal light bulb- see photo. Paper label on the back has what appears to be a date of 89' or 09' which looks to be about the right time period. Nice looking instrument. I present here two beautiful WORKING meters removed from a high voltage laboratory power supply from times past. The Volt meter has scales from 0-1.0. 0-10, 0-20 and 0-50 volts dc. The amp meter has scales from-3, 0, +10, 15, 0, +50, 30, 0, +100, 150, 0, +500 Amps DC. The amp meter zero's up from the bottom of the scale at the zero point. Both meters can be scaled with resistor voltage dividers to any one of these or any other desirable measurement scale as long as the actual movement does not exceed the 1.0 ma. full scale rating of the meters as is common to most meters of this vintage. I am offering them together because they both came from the same power supply and should maybe be used together for a nice presentation on the front of a piece of equipment. The actual meter face measurement is 4-1/2 inches diameter and the hole size ... moreis 3-5/8 inches diameter. The +/ connections are labeled on the back and are the UPPER connectors not the lower ones. The meters are factory sealed. These are really nice high visibility meter faces and scales. This is a vintage General Electric clamp-on a m meter and voltmeter with a rotating scale in working used condition. It comes with its original leather case in somewhat rough shape but serviceable. The leads have been soldered to the base of the meter- don't know if this was original or a modification. But have just tested them and they do function. This is a heavy duty piece of equipment. Although I dont have leads to test anything, so I cant guarantee it is 100% working but I have no reason to believe it isnt. It looks to have been used very sparingly and well taken care of. The case is in pretty nice shape. The marks on the front of the top are just tape residue which can most likely be cleaned off. This is a great looking unit, hard to find. Dont miss out! Here is a real old vintage meter. It was made by Weston Electric in. USA. This would make a good display piece.It is not very often you find them as old as this.This is a malty meter. It must have had a strap on it for caring it around. The case has a few cracks with the pieces missing look at photos to see what I mean.It would still make a good display piece. don't know what shape this meter is in but I do know some one took the battery out so the in sides look good. HP 3440A Digital Voltmeter with 3444A DC Volt-Amp-Ohm Unit, Works
The HP Hewlett Packard 3440A Digital Voltmeter was one of the top selling products sold by HP during the 1960s. It was designed to measure DC voltages from 1 millivolt to 1000 volts and to be used with plug-in units for other measurements. Used with the model 3444A DC Multi-Function unit. It provides 5 full scale range measurements of 100 millivolts to 1000 volts, 100 microamps to 1000 milliamps and 1000 ohms to 10 megohms. Included in this auction is a HP3440A with a 3444A plug-in unit with power cord. I tried out the unit and everything I tried worked. I measured a variety of resistors from 15 ohms to 10 Megohms which exercised all 5 ranges of the unit and got results within the tolerance of the resistors. I made some voltage. Resistance and current measurements on the 10 volt/100K/10ma range which were compared to same measurements on ... morea newer digital voltmeter with comparable results(see pictures, the newer meter is not included) The inside seems quite clean and other than a few scratches, scraps and scuffs, the outside cabinet is in good condition for being probably 40 years old. There is some writing on the bottom which is probably from when the item was sold in a surplus sale. It looks like it was last calibrated in 1972. I did no testing at all of the remote control or the recording option. The unit with its handles and mounting brackets measures approximately 19" wide, 13" deep and 5-1/4" high.
