This is very cool old voltage tester. They knew how to make things last back in the day. This tester. Has not been tested. I tend to blow fuses with my voltmeter, and then I have to reset clocks, the oven, microwave, re boot the computer that lost all the pages I forgot to save. Electro-Guard Model 451B Galvanometer, Volt Meter, Continuity Tester
This is a Lab-Volt Electro-Guard Model 451B DC Galvanometer and combination Continuity Tester. Volt Meter and Ammeter. It also has the names Buck Engineering Co and General Electric Co. on the meter face. The meter has four functions. Switch selectable with the control knob. The first function is a continuity tester using an internal 1.5 volt C-cell battery and the two input test connections. The second function is a 0.5 VDC meter. The third and fourth functions are a 5 MADC galvanometer and a 0.5 MADC galvanometer. All functions work. There is an internal potentiometer which I assume can be used to calibrate the meter. I do not have a manual or any other information about the meter. No test leads are included. It is in very good physical condition and works electrically. Shipping to USA destinations only.

This auction is for a vintage Simpson Load Type Battery Tester Voltmeter Model 245. Made by the Simpson Electric Company of Chicago. Illinois, U.S.A. Its case, measuring about 5" x 3" x 2" deep. Is made from red bakelite. The DC voltage ranges are: 2 V, 4 V, 8 V, 50 V, 100 V. And 150 V. The higher voltage ranges are for"A" and"B" batteries found in vacuum tube radios. If desired. An internal load can be applied to the battery under test. For example. The 2 V range has a resistance of 2 Kohms with LOAD OFF, but 7 ohms with LOAD ON. This load resistance increases as the voltage range increases. The LOAD ON setting should be used briefly as it quickly drains a battery and generates heat inside the tester case. The condition of this battery tester is as follows: A known test voltage was applied to the probes. ... moreWith LOAD OFF. This is a Heathkit Volmeter that is from the early 1940's and is a very nice working unit that is missing the red poss test lead. It has a small crack on the upper left of the plastic window over the gauge and the plug also has a crack in it. I plugged it in and the light comes on instantly and bright. It has some paint specks on the side but will leave the cleaning to the buyer. This is a must have for any collector or anyone that works on old vintage equipment.
