Both items are in extremely beautiful condition, and are truly some awesome surviving remnants of America's past, specifically its participation in World War 2. Both units are still equipped with the original documentation which they came with. The Voltmeter is dated November of 1921 while the Ammeter is dated May of 1937. Similarly. Both units are stamped on the outside of their wooden case with Serial/Model numbers, as well as the Manufacturer's information and the patent dates, the most recent of which is 1901, while the oldest is 1888. Antique "WESTON D.C. MILLIAMMETER MODEL 45", Excellent Original Condition, NR!
This is a great old piece of electronic testing equipment. I've never seen one better. It was made by"Weston Electrical Instrument Corp. Newark, NJ, USA. The plaque on the front also lists Patent Dates ranging from Nov 6 1888 to July 16 1901. It is Model 45 and No. 60169. According to the Certification card inside, it was last inspected for service on March 24, 1950. Nearly"perfect" With just a couple scratches to the oak cabinet. Inside is practically mint. This has obviously seen very little use. It measures 8" wide, 11: high, 5" deep, and weighs about 11 pounds. The handle and all the hardware/bumpers are like new. The side tag reads"M-1206-1-0-750MA DC" Again, this piece is nearly flawless. Low starting bid, and no reserve!

Here is a real old vintage meter. It was made by Weston Electric in Newark NJ. USA. The pat. date is Nov.8 1888. For as old as it is it is in fairly good shape. I don't know if you would call the face brass or not. It is a heavy metal like brass but has more of a chrome color to it with may be a little brass in it.One of the little rubber feet is missing for when you set it up the one way. This would make a good display piece.It is not very often you find them as old as this.The meter goes to 140 volt. It can read positive or negative. I put 14 volts to it and the needle did move. The I reversed the polarity and the needle moved the other way. I believe it is in working order.I think the case is oak. it all most looks like Tiger Oak. Feel free to email questions or comments.

This is a beautiful antique piece that was designed to test the voltage of various electronic equipment. This piece was made in 1918 by the Weston Electrical Instrument Company in Newark. New Jersey. The piece is built into a beautiful wood case(likely oak, but we're not certain) with brass latches and hinges. The case opens up to reveal a lower panel with the original company paperwork tag that gives details on usage and the range it can measure. The top part of the interior is a textured metal panel with the volt meter in the center. Just below the badge is a"Correction" mechanism which allows you to calibrate the machine. This is a beautiful antique piece that would be great for any collectors of antique electronic equipment! Condition: This piece is antique and used with some wear. The piece has not been tested and we cannot confirm if it works or not. The wood case has some wear from use and age. Including some scratching, light dents and and chips in the wood.I believe there was another cap on the negative side at one time, no longer there. The interior is relatively clean with some light tarnishing from age and some fading and discoloration on the paper label from age. There may have originally been a leather handle on the exterior, but that piece is not included. Overall this is in nice condition for its age, and has a nice antique patina which gives it a classic look. This is for a Weston Electrical Instrument Corp D. C. Ammeter Model 45 patent date 1901. This was calibrated in October 27. 1919. I hooked up a battery and the meter registered a reading. This is in a heavy oak box without the leather handle. Clasp are in very good used shape. This is 8" by 8" by 4 1/2" and weighs 10 lbs 7 oz. It does have all the rubber grommets on the feet. There are a few small pieces of veneer missing or loose. Once screw cap is cracked. Please review photos and they are part of the description.

Vintage Weston DC Voltmeter. Model 45 Serial Number 56833, Dated Sept. 1946 A few specific things you should know about this voltmeter. It is in really good condition. It has all the original knobs and leather handle. It is hard to find one that still has the knobs and handle. The Serial number is 56833 and it is hand dated and signed on September 17. 1946. The case has a few wear marks on it, that I believe would clean up nicely with some wood polish. I did not clean it up myself, so that the next owner had the option to clean it up or not. There are 2 little, looks like screw marks on the front, as if it had another metal label on it. This could be filled if you wanted with some wood filler. Weston electrical instrument company model number 44 number 25035. This is in used condition show signs of use and is an antique. The leather strap is in tact but in bad shape. This is not tested and is not known if it works or not. Box is all there but is showing sign of age. Some of the pads to stand level are missing see photos.
