Waterloo Boy 2 H.P. Type H Hit and Miss Gas Engine, John Deere Engine
Up for auction here is a 2 horse power Waterloo Boy hit and miss gas engine. This is known as the John Deere built Waterloo Boy and has the JD cast in the block. There are no cracks breaks or welds I can find anywhere on the engine. It is not locked up but I have not had it running. It will need a new fuel line. It has the Wizard magneto. Both the mag and igniter are good. The magneto has been rebuilt by Adrians's Magneto Service out of Lancaster. MN. at a cost of $212.00 I have the receipt for the mag rebuild which will be included. This engine also has a good drip oiler, belt pulley, and will come with a tin crank guard that bolts to the engine block. There are 2 nice brass tags that are very readable. Selling my 1911 Waterloo Boy to fund another project. It runs well but is not perfect. The engine is on a home made cart but does take a fair bit of energy to move. Carb for a 1 1/2hp Waterloo Boy. Eatons or other contract engines made by Waterloo Boy, needle valve turns freely, 3/4 inch pipe thread, original pick up tube and check valve, it has been repaired where gas pipe threads into carb, but it threads in good, not an easy carb to come by. AS IS I will combine shipping when more than one item is bought. For overseas buyers, please take into consideration shipping time if you want surface shipping, I have had some claims against me when the part did not come when the buyer thought it should, I have no control over how long it takes. Old Waterloo Boy Tractor Hit Miss Gas Engine Celluloid Knife Sharpener Steam WOW
This is an extremely scarce. If not rare, original advertising celluloid pocket knife sharpener featuring the Waterloo Boy kerosene tractor and engines. It also advertises US huskers and silo fillers, Letz feed grinders, and Russell threshing machines. It is quite large and measures 1 3/4 inches in diameter. It is from the Arbuckle Ryan Company in Toledo, Ohio. It is in great condition considering it's almost 100 years old with some minor staining and foxing around the edges. The stone on the back side is in near perfect condition. This would be a very nice addition to your early agricultural advertising collection especially if you like John Deere. ENGINE MOUNTED STAND FOR FLYWHEEL MAGNETO FOR WATERLOO BOY ENGINES
This is a cast iron stand that bolts to those 2 little hole on the base on the igniter side of the engine that you wonder why they are there. It's purpose is for mounting a friction flywheel driven magneto to fire the engine. It was on an 8 hp Waterloo Boy engine when I bought it. It also fits on the engines clear down to the 1½ hp engines. The slots on the mounting surface allows for a range of different magnetos to be used. Waterloo boy Hit and Miss Engine on a self propelled running gear
This is a waterloo boy hit n miss motor. I'm not sure what year it is or what the exact model is but it is in very nice shape and has very good compression. It hasn't been started in 3 years though but ran great when it was put into storage! The motor has a different carburetor on it and it looks like the carb came off of a smaller tractor but it does work great on the motor. The ignition has also been changed. It has a 12 volt electrical system with alternator for charging. And it also has a coil and points for the spark. It all works really good and it ran and started really good. The motor is mounted on a home made self propelled drive train and is hooked up to a older four speed transmission and then that is hooked up to a older car rear end. It all works good and it gets lots of attention in parades and shows! NICE Unrestored Waterloo-Boy 1-1/2 HP hit & miss stationary engine one lunger
Here is a very nice and unmolested Waterloo Boy 1-1/2 horsepower engine with an igniter ignition. I do nit have a gas tank but I'll throw in the coil that seems to put off a good spark at the igniter contacts. I had it running for a little while as I didn't have a proper tank to use. It is a quiet and sweet sounding engine and in good shape. It held water fine outside of a bad petcock which needs replacing; I filled it up and looked it over and there are no cracks, compression is ok but it was sitting a long time and already got better while running it. It has been in the family a long time. I can have a vehicle going out from Massachusetts to Chickasha Oklahoma, leaving around the 15th of March and can possibly arrange to meet up along the way or have someone meet up at the Chickasha Prewar meet from the 19th to the 21st. NICE 2 1/2hp Banner hit & miss gas engine on trucks runs excellent Waterloo L@@K
You are bidding on an exceptionally nice. 2 1/2hp Banner engine on a nice cart. I have been told by three fellow engine collectors, that the cart is early, and 100% original. Even has the original wood tongue. I am not a Waterloo expert, but I think they are correct. The engine itself is practically new mechanically. The gears have NO slop and the piston looks like new, same with the valves. I don't come across many engines that have this low of hours. The battery box is 100% original, and has the correct square gas tank built in. Original starting crank is also included. The engine is 100% complete(minus an oiler, one in pictures is not included) with factory crankgaurd, muffler, and pulley. Flywheels run straight as an arrow, and compression is super. I know it sounds like I'm making this engine out to be more than it is, but it ... morereally is in great shape. Only selling to fund another purchase. Only repairs are a weld on the head, and a small dab of solder on the carb which I don't understand why its there. If your looking for an engine that is totally unmolested except for the paint job, you will be hard pressed to find one any nicer. No suprises or rebuilding of any kind required with this engine. Unrestored Waterloo Boy hit miss ignitor engine John Deere runs good 2 1/2hp
This is an original un-restored Waterloo Boy engine that was found in a collapsed barn in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It likely was belted to a water pump that was found nearby. The cylinder head has had a very nice braze-over of a frost crack from the old days. And there are no leaks. The repair looks like a complete recovery from a well-earned battle scar. Waterloo Boy Gasoline Engine Co. was sold in 1918 and it's assets and designs became the John Deere Co. The engine is bolted to skid timbers that rest in the engine cart frame rails. The engine on skids can easily be slid off the cart to rest on the ground for solid belt work. Or the belt can be tensioned by staking the cart to ground- owners choice, and a nice option. A 1922 John Deere Waterloo Boy 3HP Model H Hit & Miss Old Gas E Engine D B
This relatively late John Deere produced 3 HP Model H Waterloo Boy gasoline engine has a serial number of 228.881. Both of the fragile original brass tags are in very nice original condition. According to the site this engine was built in 1922 with production ending in 1923 when John Deere introduced the Model E 1-1/2. 3 and 6 HP gasoline engines. This engine is stuck and is missing the mixer. Igniter, fuel tank, governor cover, connecting rod guard, intake valve spring and cylinder drip oiler. As is often the case, someone a long time ago substituted a spark plug for the original ignition system. This engine is worthy of a restoration so any help in locating these missing parts would be greatly appreciated. The speed control lever still moves but everything else seems to be seized up. The cylinder head has been frozen and broken and arc ... morewelded with nickel rod. The cylinder water jacket and water hopper appear to be fine with no cracks or welds. The very fragile and often broken original rocker arm is fine. The pivot for the rocker arm is broken but both of the pieces are present. One piece is still bolted to the cylinder head while the outer part is attached to the original rocker arm. I have looked very carefully at both flywheels and am very confident that neither one have any cracks in them anywhere. Someone drilled and tapped a pair of holes in the back of the top of the water hopper to attach a pair of strap iron pieces that may have held a gas tank at one time. These straps also attached to the back of the engine base where the connecting rod cover originally attached. I removed the straps because I am sure they are not original to this engine but they are included if the new owner wants them. This engine still has traces of it's original John Deere paint intact and appears to never have been repainted. If you collect John Deere tractors or engines. Old WONDER Cement Mixer Waterloo Fuller Johnson Hit Miss Gas Engine Sales Poster
This is a really neat original and probably pretty scarce sales poster from the Construction Machinery Corporation in Waterloo. Iowa, advertising their WONDER cement mixers and other products. It measures about 13 1/2 x 20 1/2 inches and is heavily illustrated. It has some wear and tear from being nearly a century old with wear along the creases and staining but it would still look great in a frame and hanging on your wall or displayed with your engines or equipment. Original PERU WATERLOO Hit Miss Gas Engine Cart Truck Steam Tractor Magneto WOW
This is a very hard to find original set of horse trucks for a hit and miss gas engine made by the Peru Plow Company in Peru. Illinois. They were used under Waterloo engines and many other companies as well. The wheels measure 34 and 26 inches in diameter with a 4 inch face and are in great condition and roll very nicely. It is in great condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It needs new wood for the pole. It is is ready to be put to use under an engine just as it is. There is some pitting on some of the steel but nothing that takes away from it's functionality. The rails are 6 inch channel iron and are 13 1/2 inches apart to the outsides and 96 inches long. These can be adjusted in width rather easily. These trucks should work for a larger 4hp engine up to an 8 or maybe a 9hp engine. Factory trucks like these are pretty ... morehard to find in the wild or even at swap meets so don't miss your chance on it. It would certainly make moving your engine around easier! NICE 5HP MAJESTIC ON CART HIT & MISS GAS ENGINE WATERLOO JOHN DEERE L@@K!!!!!!!!
You are bidding on a very nice 5hp hit& miss Majestic engine. The engine looks to be in quite good shape. There are three negatives about the engine. One is it's missing the original carburetor, somebody has built a carb, from scratch, I'm sure it works fine. The correct carb for this would be a Lunkenheimer which can be bought new and used any day of the week for $75-$125. The other thing is the governor weights are homemade, somebody did a fabulous job making them, and I know they will work just as good, but they are homemade. The last thing is the governor yoke that holds the weights is welded in one spot. There is really nothing else wrong with the engine that I can see. The inside of the hopper is like new, no rust scale or pitting. The man I bought it from had antifreeze in the hopper, so I assume it runs, but I've never ... moretried it. Has the original ignitor and trip assembly. It it mounted on a good, heavy, well built cart with a nice handle to pull it around. Has the original nameplate, and it also has a cast brass grease cup on the rod. I believe the pulley is correct, or if it's not it will work just as good. The engine has a large straight exhaust stack on it, I'm sure it makes a nice sound when it fires. Take a look at the pictures and decide for yourself. Not an easy engine to find, and I'm sure it's not far from show ready, if it were mine, I would buy a Lunkenheimer for it though. I can store the engine here for 6 months for no charge, we are located 100 miles north of Detroit. I can also deliver it to Portland, IN and Coolspring, PA events next spring and summer for $35 gas charge. This is a very hard to find original Waterloo Gas Engine Company belt driven pump jack. It is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind except for two small cracks as I've pointed out in the photos. It has most of its original green paint on it and is covered with grease just like it left the farm! Everything seems to work as it should and there doesn't seem to be much wear anywhere on it. It has the original wooden uprights and cross tie on it. This would look great powered by a hit and miss engine pumping water at the shows! For sale a very rare and unusual pump jack for a Waterloo antique stationary gas engine. Pump jack plate that holds the well pump is marked waterloo gasoline engine company. I have not seen another one like this and would be a great addition to a waterloo or john deere collection. Pump is loose but missing small gear and pulley. I can not see any cracks breaks or welds and item has lots of green paint. This will make a great show item with your antique engine. I can deliver to Le Suer.
