Old Original Dayton Iron Oil Field Hit Miss Gas Engine Yellow Dog Shop Torch WOW
This is a real nice original cast iron"yellow dog" or lamp that was commonly used in the oil fields as a source of light. It was made by the Dayton Malleable Iron Company in Dayton. Ohio and is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. The cover screws off nicely. It could use a new wick as the original is deteriorated quite a bit but these should be available from several sources rather inexpensively. This lamp measures about 4 inches in diameter and about 7 3/4 inches tall. It would be a fine addition to your early engine or oil field display. This is a very hard to find original cardstock calendar from July 1912 advertising the Bessemer gas engines and their reverse clutches. It measures about 5 1/4 x 10 inches and is in decent condition for being over a century old! It does has some tape repairs on the back from a previous life but the front is still pretty nice. It would be a fine addition to your early engine advertising collection or display. It would look especially nice hanging in your oil field pumping building near your engine! Oil Field Engine Chimney and Burner
This is a Oil Field engine hot tube Chimney and burner. Not sure what engine it came off of Bessemer? Half breed? The burner stands 16" tall and the mounting flange has 3 1/4" centers and 7/16" holes. The burner is 1/2" and it seems the 1/4" threads at the end are broke off.ID of the hole on the flange end is 1 5/8" and the top of the chimney ID is 1 7/8" and there is a cast mark in the chimney(4A12) Chimeny has no breaks or welds. 1920's 25 Horsepower Bessemer oil field engine hitt and miss
Mid 20's Bessemer gas engine. 25 horsepower. I bought it 5 years ago in pieces. Spent the last few years putting it back together. sand blasted, cleaned and painted most parts. Cleaned bore and piston reassembled. Magneto makes good spark. Lots of work done to the cylinder head as in machining. Built a nice stand/ skid for engine to run on. Needs all plumbing and piping to make run. Flywheels are around 64 inches in diameter. Engine turns over easily. All the hard work has been done. I have changed direction in my hobbies and or spare time and to not have time to make run. Please e-mail any questions. Loading this engine on your trailer is not a propblem for me.

Old BESSEMER Oil Field Hit Miss Gas Engine Parts Book Clutch Pulley Letterhead
This is a rather hard to find original parts catalog for the Bessemer oil field type gas engines. It measures about 6 x 9 inches with 80 pages. It appears to cover all of the parts for the 15-80hp single cylinders and the 35-165hp twin cylinder engines. It also has a parts break down for the clutches for these and also the 8 and 12hp engines. There is a section devoted to the belt driven Bessemer air compressors. The KW magneto attachments for them, and also the air start system that was available on them. There are a couple pages of parts for the early star wheel ignitor, as well. The catalog is heavily illustrated with the parts as can be seen. Along with the parts catalog is an original Bessemer company letterhead. Here is a casting kit for a Reid oil field engine by Burns and Horner. As far as I know these kits are no longer being produced. I have owned a couple of these as finished models and I can tell you they are very sought after. What you see is what you get. I think it is complete but I don't know that for sure. I do not have any plans or blue prints but I think some could be had one way or another. I think these were offered in two sizes, this is the larger one. Some of these also had an aluminum main frame this one is cast iron as you can see. This is a very hard to find casting kit. 14-1/2" diameter flywheels. Heavy 112 lbs. 1915 BESSEMER Gas Engine Operator's Manual - Oil Field
This is an original operator's manual for Bessemer gas engines. It is not dated. But there first page displays a gold medal the company won at the 1915 San Francisco Expo, so it dates to around that time. Contains several dozen photos and diagrams. See the pics for the full table of contents. CONDITION: Shows mild edge wear and a bit of age toning. There is a small tear to the upper edge of the rear cover and a 3/4 inch split at the head of the spine. Shipping is on me.
