Hit miss Briggs and Stratton gasoline engine FH Straight Fin 1920s
I believe this to be a late 1920s briggs and Stratton model Fh straight fin. It looks to have been out in the weather for some time it is stuck however most of the bolts came loose easily. The flywheel has 3 fins with the corners chipped but looks to be in great shape other than that. See pictures for condition. Up for auction with no reserve.

Antique 1929 Briggs and Stratton FH engine - Completely restored
Antique Briggs and Stratton FH engine. S/n 573XX which makes it a 1929. Completely restored by previous owner. Mechanically and cosmetically. Has correct muffler, asphaltic wire loom, comes with 2 kick pedals, on straight, the other angled. This engine has NOT been run in over 5 years. Everything is free and moving. But you will likely have to clean the points and possibly the carb, just give it a little TLC. Buyer pays for shipping from 06615. Or you can pick it up locally in either Stratford or Monroe, CT. Buyer pays $25 crating/packing fee. The engine will be bolted to a plywood base and have a cage built around it to protect it during shipping. DO NOT pay until I get you the final shipping charge. As the engine has to be packed and weighed to get an accurate shipping charge.

Antique Briggs & Stratton Motor MODEL FH Hit and Miss washing machine gas engine
This is a really rare. Nice old kick-start washing machine motor made by Briggs and Stratton. It is Model# FH Serial# 50538. The Patent Date is: 9-21-26. I tried looking up the serial number, and the information I found says it was actually manufactured in 1928. This little engine is truly a barn find that I picked up years ago. Other than the oil I put in the cylinder after pulling the spark plug, it is just as I found it, spider webs, dust and dirt and all. It turns over well, seems to have good compression, and gave me a jolt when I grabbed the plug while turning it over. I didn't try to start it because I have been told it is not good for older engines like this that have been sitting for a long time to try to start them before cleaning up the gas tank, carburetor, etc. It looks like an easy restoration with no dents, dings, or damage ... moreanyplace that I can see. If you want a rare engine that is a true survivor from the good ole days for that special project, washing machine restoration, or unique antique engine collection this may be just what you are looking for. 1927 1928 1929 Briggs & Stratton MODEL FH project motor Pot Metal Carb Slant Fin
Up for auction is a Briggs and Stratton Model FH. I only have the parts you see here. This FH is a slant fin block with a pot metal carb of which only about 3.000 were built and few examples remain. From what I understand, Pot slant fins serial numbers ran from about 26437 to 29705, accounting for only a few months of production. The engine is locked up from sitting, but the flywheel still turns, I'm guessing it has no key anymore, but I have not taken anything apart to look. From what I can see, it is missing the shroud, the muffler, and the intake tube that bring air to the carb. From what I can see, there are no numbers stamped on this engine. A couple of the cooling fins are damaged as you can see in the photos. Before I got it. It was under a work bench for about 40 years. It still has a tag on it from when it was supposedly abandoned ... morein a small engine repair shop decades ago. I bought it intending to restore it. It will probably take very little to get it running. I have to many Garden Tractor Projects right now to get into this engine. The Original Shroud/Blower Housing is included. Old Original JACOBSEN Four Cycle Briggs Stratton FH FI Hit Miss Gas Engine NICE!
This is a very hard to fine original Jacobsen four cycle double push rod/rocker arm air cooled gas engine. It was original used on the putting green mower they produced for golf courses. The engine turns over nicely and has some compression but I think there may be a little dirt under a valve. The original gas tank and air cleaner is still on the engine which is quite a rarity. There are no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind that I can see or know of. ALL of the cooling fins are in great shape which is VERY unusual. This engine was Jacobsen's answer to the popular FH and FI models that were being made by Briggs and Stratton at the time. From the information that I've been given around 1700 of these engines were produced and their mortality rate was quite high! It is missing the shroud as can be seen but these turn up occasionally ... moreand are usually marketed as a Briggs shroud. Included in the sale is the ORIGINAL Jacobsen Putting Green Mower serial tag from the mower that this engine came off of. These serial tags are even more scarce than the engine! This engine should be a pretty straightforward project and would be a great and rare addition to your air cooled engine collection or display! I can deliver this for free to Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year. I can also ship it quite reasonably through Fastenal. Here is a Briggs and Stratton engine. It is a model FH or FHI. I am not sure which. This is from an estate and I did get the original paperwork with it which is listed in another auction. It would be nice if they went together but I realize some people might not be interested in the manuals. This motor had always been on the same farm since new. It appears to me to be mostly complete. It turns over, the carb throttle is free and the pushrod/ valve opens and closes as you turn it over. It is missing some screws for the flywheel cover and the flywheel scrapes on the cover as you turn it over. Looks to me like this would be a great winter project. Someone with some know how and tinkering skills could probably get this running pretty easily. This is very heavy and somewhat large. You are bidding a Antique Briggs& Stratton Engine Model FH. The Brass tag has 1926 on it. The Man who restored this engine had a passion for restoring Oliver Tractors. It came out of his Oliver Collection. So the color speaks for its self. Who knows this engine may have come off some Oliver Implement back in the day. This engine was restored 12 years ago and went to two tractor hit& miss shows and has been stored in a controlled environment ever since. I put fuel in it and it fired the first kick and started and ran perfect the second kick. Then started first kick everytime after. The engine has less than one hour run time since it was restored. The motor is show quality in every way. Sits on its original cast iron gas tank and mounted on a solid oak plank. This motor and crate weighs 100 pounds. BRIGGS & STRATTON FH, PUMP, ON CART
BRIGGS FH ENGINE. PUMP, and CART FH runs good and I know of no problems with it. Last run about 2 years ago at show. It drives a 2 piston exposed(newer) pump for show. Valves in pump need to be cleaned and gauge does not seem to work. I believe it could pump liquid with a little TLC. SHIPPING: I could put it on a l skid and get it to the local Fastenal Store for $20. But buyer has to make shipping arrangements, or local pick up, or it can be delivered to the LeSueur, MN April 2015 swap meet for free.

Here is a very nice old Briggs and Stratton FH. It looks to be in very nice original condition. I bought this engine several years ago and ran it then but I have not tried to run it lately. I imagine the fuel check valve may need cleaned but maybe not. I check it for spark and it is has very good spark. It has excellent compression and turns over fine. The starter pedal works just as it should. I cannot see any breaks. Cracks, or welds. It is an old antique and is being sold"As Is" no returns or complaints.
