This is a very rare original watch fob from the Fairbanks Morse Company showing their railroad speeder car. It measures about 1 1/4 inches in diamter and is in great shape for being 100 years old. It has some characteristic wear from its years of service but just enough to give it character. Old Sunlight Generator Briggs WMB Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor Magneto WOW
This is a really neat and unusual Sunlight 110 volt portable generator. It was made by the Sunlight Electrical Manufacturing Company in Warren. Ohio. It has a Briggs and Stratton WMB engine on it for power. The engine is kick start and turns over nicely with great compression. The generator turns over nicely and seems to be in good condition. It is missing one of the doors on the back side but the other one is there for a pattern to reproduce one. The original gas tank is there and is in decent shape with a couple of small dings. Surprisingly the engine has it's original muffler which is almost never seen! I think with just a little cleaning this could be a running setup. I personally have never seen another one but I'm sure there's a few out there. Old Hercules Hit Miss Gas Engine Sales Brochure Steam Tractor Magneto Oiler WOW
This is a very unusual original sales brochure for Hercules gas engines. It is a foldable pocket brochure that has been unfolded and laminated sometime in the past to protect it from wear. It measures about 7 x 10 1/4 inches and shows the 1 3/4 Style E. F, and G, connected to different kinds of pumps. It also shows the portable tilting table saw outfit as well as the drag saw. The back of it shows the complete list of nationwide repair parts service stations and it also has a list of"dealers who have large stocks of repairs" I have seen lots of interesting and rare original sales literature but have never seen this particular piece. It is in good condition for its age with the exception of the missing piece in the lower right corner which doesn't affect much more than the eye appeal of the piece. This is an extremely scarce. If not rare, original advertising celluloid pocket knife sharpener featuring the Waterloo Boy kerosene tractor and engines. It also advertises US huskers and silo fillers, Letz feed grinders, and Russell threshing machines. It is quite large and measures 1 3/4 inches in diameter. It is from the Arbuckle Ryan Company in Toledo, Ohio. It is in great condition considering it's almost 100 years old with some minor staining and foxing around the edges. Old Original John Lauson Hit Miss Gas Engine Ammeter Steam Tractor Magneto WOW
This is a very rare original John Lauson ammeter. It is from the same John Lauson Company in New Holstein. WI, that built the Frost King hit and miss gasoline engines. They were used to test the strength of the batteries that were being used to run the engines. It is in great condition considering it's over 100 years old and I see no reason why it wouldn't work. It has the original cloth covered wire on it which is a bit tattered but it will work the way it is. It measures about 2 1/8 inches in diameter and the only thing I see wrong with it is the glass is missing. I'm sure this would be available rather inexpensively at a local clock or watch repair shop. Old 1877 Crosby Brass Steam Engine Tractor Train Whistle Hit Miss Magneto WOW
This is a rather unique early Crosby brass steam whistle. It measures about 2 1/4 inches in diameter at it's largest point and about 8 1/4 inches long. It is completely made of brass or bronze except for the lever which is cast iron. There are three separate chambers in the top part of the whistle. There are no cracks. Breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of and other than a few dings and minor dents to give it age authenticity. It was made by the Crosby Steam Gage and Valve Company in Boston, Massachusetts. It was patented on January 30, 1877. I'm not sure if the top finial is original or not as it doesn't thread on any further although the threads on the stem and in the nut are in good shape. The valve works as it should. The unfortunate part of this whistle is that it has been cut off just below the valve. I'm sure ... morewith a little time an talent this could be corrected. This is a very hard to find original catalog from 1909 from the Fairbanks Company for their Power Transmission. Elevating, and Conveying machinery. It is in good condition for being over 100 years old! It measures about 5 3/4 x 7 3/8 inches with 328 pages. It is heavily illustrated with all of the products they offered for this particular part of the market from lineshaft equipment, belting, canvas, gears, cast iron and other pulleys up to 120 inches in diameter! elevators, conveyors, scales, clutches and much more! They even offered the rare"Almond" right angle lineshaft coupling. There is a page with their engine offerings on it. This is an original hit and miss gas engine diecast toy made by Irvin's Model Shop several years ago. They were made in limited numbers and aren't real easy to find today. Original 1 1/2 IHC Type M Hit Miss Gas Engine Antique Motor Steam Tractor WOW
This is a pretty decent original and barn fresh 1 1/2hp Type M International Harvester gas engine. It seems to be in pretty good condition but needs some restoration. It has a larger belt pulley on it with some old belt dressing built up on it. It is missing the magneto. Handhole cover and a few other small items. It has a homemade reproduction gas tank that looks great. The bottom of the fuel pump needs to be repaired or replaced. There is also a very old repair on the rocker arm. The engine is loose and shows very little wear on the governor fork. It should be a pretty straightforward restoration project and has some decent original paint on it yet. This is a real nice original cast iron funnel that was factory equipment with some of the early prairie type tractors like the International Harvester Titan and Mogul. I believe that they also came with several other tractors like Case and other steam traction engines. It is in excellent used condition with no cracks. Old 3 1/2hp Lauson Alpha Hit Miss Gas Engine Antique Motor Steam Tractor WOW
This is a 3 1/2hp John Lauson/Alpha Model W hit and miss gas engine. It is a true hit and miss engine and was built by the John Lauson Company for the DeLaval Dairy Supply Company. It is a restoration project that was started and needs to be finished. It is mostly complete except it is missing the Wico EK magneto as can be seen but these turn up quite frequently here on Ebay. It has the correct hinged cast iron crank guard. The piston and rod are out because the wrist pin came loose at some point and scored the cylinder. The grooves have been JB welded and it needs to be honed back out. The fella that did this had very good luck with this method on several other engines. There is a repair on the detent pivot and on the rocker arm as can be seen. The head has already been repaired. The engine has been repainted at some point in its working ... moreday. It needs some other small generic engine parts like valve springs. Keepers, and some new head studs as three of the originals are twisted off. With a little patience and time this should be a pretty straightforward project. These are very good running engines when they are dialed in. The 3 1/2hp is the largest of the W series and is quite tough to find compared to the 1 1/2 and 2 1/2hp sizes. The pictures tell the story. This is an old Maytag 92 single cylinder air cooled hit and miss gas engine. It is in good condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind that I could find or know of except for a chip on the carburetor flange which I have detailed in the pictures. The engine will still run with this chip. The engine is stuck with the piston near the top of the cylinder and I'm sure with some minimal effort this engine will run again. It was run several years ago at local shows and has been sitting in a dry building since so I doubt it is stuck very badly. Old 3hp FAIRBANKS MORSE Z Red Line Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor Magneto WOW
This is a rather hard to find 3hp Fairbanks Morse Z that left the factory as a hit and miss engine instead of a throttling governor as most of the Z's are. These were commonly called the"Red" line engines. It is an older repaint and turns over nicely with very little wear anywhere. It has excellent compression and has been run in the last few years. There are no cracks. Breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of except for a very well done repair on the rocker tower which I've pointed out in the pictures. The engine has the factory belt pulley, oiler, and coil box on it, all of which are usually missing. The original gas tank looks to be in great shape as well. The original starting crank is with it. Old BROWNELL Horizontal Steam Engine Boiler Hit Miss Tractor Magneto Oiler WOW!
This is an original horizontal steam engine and vertical boiler combination that was used in industry many years ago. I don't know what make the engine is but it looks very similar to an Atlas. The vertical boiler has"Power Mining and Machinery Company International Mixer. Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Brownell Company, Dayton, Ohio casted into it. The boiler measures about 28 inches in diameter and about 66 inches tall overall. It seems to be in good decent condition with the exception of the broken door frame which shouldn't be real tough to repair. It is stamped from the factory on the side"BROWNELL HS 60, WIS SPECIAL 409, WP 100 B1. The base of the engine measures about 23 inches wide x 70 inches long. The head cover is about 10 1/2 inches in diameter. The pulley flywheels are 40 and 20 inches in diameter with 10 1/2 inch faces. ... moreThe overall with of the crankshaft with the pulleys is 50 1/2 inches. The engine is stuck and will need some level of restoration. It is complete with the exception of the eccentric that runs off of the crank to operate the admission valve but I don't think it would be a big project to come up with something that will work and look correct on this engine. Included is a smokestack but I don't know if it was original to this setup. It was together when I got it. I think this combination would be pretty straightforward project. Original 3hp Fairbanks Morse Z Hit Miss Gas Engine Cart Truck Steam Tractor WOW!
This is a rather hard to find original cart for a 3hp Fairbanks Morse Z hit and miss gas engine. It has the original handle which is a bit wrinkled but could be straightened. The wheels measure 12 inches in diameter with a 2 inch face. The angle iron rails are 31 inches long. It is in excellent original condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. It has some minor wear but this is to be expected from something that is nearly a century old! This cart work was used under a 3hp Zfrom the factory and will work for any engine of the 1-3hp size. Factory carts like these are pretty hard to find in the wild or even at swap meets so don't miss your chance on it. It would certainly make moving your engine around easier! Original FULLER JOHNSON Hit Miss Gas Engine Cart Truck Steam Tractor Magneto WOW
This is an extremely hard to find original cart for a small Fuller and Johnson hit and miss gas engine. It has the original handle on the front axle. I'm pretty sure it has the original wood board on it but may have a few extra holes in it. The wheels measure 8 inches in diameter with a 2 inch face and all have the J482 part number on them. It is in excellent original condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind and is ready to be put to use under an engine. This cart was used under the 1 1/2 and 2hp Model N engines from the factory and probably the Multi Motor and will work for any engine of the 1-2 1/2 hp size. Factory carts like these are pretty hard to find in the wild or even at swap meets so don't miss your chance on it. It would certainly make moving your engine around easier! Old 4hp DOMESTIC Sideshaft Hit Miss Gas Engine Motor Steam Tractor Ignitor WOW!
This is an old 4 horsepower Domestic sideshaft hit and miss gas engine. It is a true hit and miss gas engine. It has been through a fire but has survived quite well. Everything seems to be loose and moves as it should. There are no cracks. Breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of other than the gear guard over the gear on the crankshaft. Both of the sideshaft gears look to be in great shape. Other than needing new babbitt bearings, springs, a serial tag and some small miscellaneous items it should be a pretty straightforward project. The piston is loose in the cylinder and the cylinder should be great after a light honing. The brass rod bearing has some melted babbitt in it but the brass looks great. It has the original crank guard and muffler which are almost always missing. The flyheels measure true so the crankshaft appears to be straight. ... moreIt is spark plug fired and will need a Wico magneto which was lost in the fire. It shouldn't take much work at all to make noise with it! All in all this is a pretty nice project engine that won't require several hundred dollars of parts or machine work! Original PERU WATERLOO Hit Miss Gas Engine Cart Truck Steam Tractor Magneto WOW
This is a very hard to find original set of horse trucks for a hit and miss gas engine made by the Peru Plow Company in Peru. Illinois. They were used under Waterloo engines and many other companies as well. The wheels measure 34 and 26 inches in diameter with a 4 inch face and are in great condition and roll very nicely. It is in great condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It needs new wood for the pole. It is is ready to be put to use under an engine just as it is. There is some pitting on some of the steel but nothing that takes away from it's functionality. The rails are 6 inch channel iron and are 13 1/2 inches apart to the outsides and 96 inches long. These can be adjusted in width rather easily. These trucks should work for a larger 4hp engine up to an 8 or maybe a 9hp engine. Original SANDWICH Hit Miss Gas Engine Cart Truck Steam Tractor Magneto Oiler WOW
This is a very hard to find original cart for a small Sandwich hit and miss gas engine. I believe it is all original except the pull handle but this handle gets the job done. I'm pretty sure it has the original wood board on it but it has a few extra holes in it. The wheels measure 10 1/2 inches in diameter with a 2 1/8 inch face and are all cast iron. It is in great original condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind except for one wheel which has a pretty good old repair and could be dressed down a bit. It is is ready to be put to use under an engine just as it is. it has a nice old look to it and has lots of original grease and oil on it as can be seen. This cart was used under the 1 1/2 and 2hp Sandwich engines from the factory. It will work for any engine of the 1 1/2 to 3 or maybe 4hp size. Old MANZEL 3-Feed Hit Miss Gas Engine Oiler Lubricator Steam Tractor Magneto WOW
This is a real nice original 3-feed mechanical oiler or lubricator for an early gas engine. Tractor, or other piece of machinery. It was made by Manzel and is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. The original sight glass is in good condition. The unit ratchets as it should and seems to pump oil from two of the three pumps. I don't know why the other pump doesn't pump but it may be a stuck check ball. I don't think it will be real tough to get it to pump judging by the overall condition of this oiler. This oiler has the original name tag on it. It mounts with two holes about 7 1/4 inches apart on center. These oilers are extremely difficult to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you've been looking for one don't miss your chance on this one. Original WEBER Kerosene Hit Miss Gas Engine Sales Poster Steam Tractor Oiler WOW
This is pretty scarce if not rare original sales advertising poster for the Weber kerosene engines made in Kansas City Missouri. It measures about 4 x 9 inches and unfolds to a poster size of 12 x 18 inches. It is in good condition for being nearly a century old but does had some wear and separation on the folds but very little that takes away from the displayability of the piece. It shows all of the specifications. Variations, features, and accessories for them. It also has a chart for prices for the engines and it appears that prices have been slashed for the introduction of the engine! It has a nice color lithograph of the Weber engine on skids and would look great in a frame displayed with your engine or on the wall of your workshop or library. Hit and miss engine sales posters in general don't come along very often and original WEBER ... moreadvertising hardly ever turns up in the wild or even here on Ebay so don't miss your chance on this one.
