Alamo Large 6-7 hp hit&miss Engine
Greetings up for auction is a large Alamo 6-7 HP hit and miss engine.Unfortunately there is no tag, has approx. 6" bore 31" flywheels, rebuilt fuel pump, newer stainless steel fuel tank. ignition system is spark plug fired that has been copied from original it works quite nicely this setup can be seen in one of the Alamo manuals offered by hit and miss enterprises, has a timing advance/detent lever for easy starting,carburetor and choke system all original, has a nice large Oil Rite drip oiler, crank guard has been home built and made of steel but looks good, there is an older repair to the head looks to be a nice job, can probably be dressed down by a good grinder man and painted to look nice, the rocker arm has been welded, I know of no other repairs to the engine, now I'm not weak by any means but I cannot roll the engine ... moreover without using the compression release I would rate the compression as excellent,it DOES NOT blow oil pass the piston AT ALL, the flywheels run true with very little or no wobble,it comes with its own dedicated coil so all you do is hook your battery up and go, there is an extra set of governor springs that come with it can be seen in one of the pictures, the belt pulley measures about 10" dia 7" face, I have taken this engine to one show and left it on the trailer and it drew quite a crowd when the engine would fire the whole trailer would bounce and shake and squeak up down pretty entertaining!I have not had this engine very long I'm moving and am forced to thin the herd other wise I would keep it, anyone wanting to come by and see it run is more than welcome, I would prefer local pickup but if need be I can bolt it on a large pallet shrink wrap it For a $50.00 charge and take it to Fastenal, buyer to pay for all shipping expenses ships to the lower 48 states only please, this engine is sold as is due to old age, watch for other engines I have for sale soon Thanks

Heres a 6 HP Alamo Blue Line Hit Miss Gas Engine.Had this running today and really runs well.Has a 6 inch bore with 35 inch flywheels and a good working 12 inch clutch pulley.It has a 1 1/4 lunkenheimer mixer on it instead of the original mixer and fuel pump but really sounds good with the stack.Everything is free working and no cbc s that I have found.It comes with the homemade cart it is setting on with 28 inch wheels and no tongue.Stands tall and proud at 56 inches to the top of the flywheels from the groung. This listing is for a 1926 John Deere 6 HP Model E His Miss Gas Engine. The serial number is 260923. 1926 was the first year for the John Deere Model E 6 HP engine. The following repairs have been done to this engine: block was bored and sleeved back to the original 6" bore; new intake and exhaust valves. The guides where sleeved and the valve seats reworked; new valve springs where installed; new main bearings installed; new points installed in igniter. Also had a new spring installed; new brushes installed in magneto; new fuel line and check valve installed; new needle and seat installed in carburetor; the original steel fuel tank was resealed and reinstalled; new camshaft and governor bushings installed; new piston rings installed; new oil pan installed; new decals from K& K; engine was then repainted. Do have all receipts for ... morerepair work done and all parts purchased for this engine. There are no welds or cracks on the engine block or head. Just rebuilt the Rings.Gaskets,Spark Plugs and wires, and Bearings. It runs GREAT! It's a little hard to start because of the new rings. As the rings wear in,it will pull easier. I have the original oilers, but they need new glass. The Model number# 6009, and is an American Bosch Magneto This engine is a 11/2- 6 hp.It will run on either piston. Or both. You can shut one down,and the other one will run it.
