New-Way 3 HP ?? Stationary Hit & Miss Gas Engine Gasoline Steam Vintage
This is a somewhat rough New-Way engine that I saved from being scrapped recently. I can find no serial number plate on it anywhere so I am guessing that it is of about 3 to 4 horsepower or so. The flywheels on this engine measure 24" in diameter. It appears that it went through a fire many years ago that melted out the babbit main bearings. The crankshaft appears to be bent a bit because the flywheels are about 2 inches closer together at the top than they are at the bottom. Restoring this engine will be a big task but it can be done. I figure it will be most useful for a parts engine. The flywheels. Base, cylinder, connecting rod cover, magneto mounting base and magneto drive gears appear to be useable. I will add more information soon. Essex Hot Air Engine, Vintage Stirling, Stationary Engine
I am offering a vintage and rare Essex hot air engine. These engines were used to drive store displays. Peanut roasters and dentists tools(so I have read) Stamped on top is"ESSEX PAT MCH 24 1903. It is mounted on a crudely cut piece of wood with a hole for applying heat to the furnace. Some of the furnace insulation is missing and as you can see from the photo, the furnace wall has rusted through in a couple of locations. Otherwise, the engine is in very original condition and runs great. You can see it run at using a propane torch for heat. These engines may have come with a small kerosene container and heat source. This motor does NOT have that feature. The motor with board weighs 14lb and is approximately 20" long and has a 6" flywheel. Let me know if you have any questions. You are bidding on a wonderful VINTAGE RESTORED 1946 MAYTAG STATIONARY ENGINE. This engine is really beautiful. It was gone over from head to toe. It has cloth wrapped EISEMANN PLUG WIRES AND NEW PLUGS. The engine was tested to be fine. The original gas tank was cleaned. The paint and decal is good and there is no damage. Flywheel is solid and has no cracks. Because of the age of this engine I am selling without warranty. The collector I purchased it from said it worked fine and in checking it over I see no reason why it shouldn't. It has compression and spark. This a Magneto I saved off an old bailer I scrapped last summer. It looks good but I don't when the bailer was last running. So selling as is, it's probably in good working order) This came off a Wisconsin VH4D. Tag on magneto reads, CW in first box. Type, 27 in 2nd box, next box. FM, here the tag has a scratch by the first number, and there may not even be a number, if it is a number, it is a 1, then it reads, X4B7A, next box. 5405494. Last line, MFD FOR. Y-97, I saved the actual engine tag also. It reads. VH4D, 3 1/4 3 1/4, 256597, 4085087 I have the Zenith carb also if someone would like it listed. Just ask. Hercules 1 1/2 Hit and Miss gasoline engine. This is an earlier design with the oval hopper and the ignitor" make and break" ignition.Using a Webster Tri- polar Oscillator magneto. I've been collecting,repairing,buying and selling one cylinder engines for about 30 years,long enough to be able to know that,nice original, unmolested,engines are getting harder to find. I've sold several"Restored" engines to folks that later have indicatd they would like to also have one that is still original and in good running condition. I have several such engines in my collection,and am offering this one for sale,only because my space is maxed out. I hate to leave an engine outside under a tarp. Everything about this engine is original,including the Hercules cart it's sitting on. The gas tank needed to be replaced and the ... morelubricator was added other than that this is the real deal.It starts on the second pull of the flywheels and once its warm it coasts from 12 to 14 clicks between firing( thats 24 to 28 revolutions) There are no cracks or repairs,and compression is good. I put some gasoline in the tank and it started up with no problem. It runs very smooth. It was running when I took the close up pictures of the flywheel. I could not slow the shutter speed on my camera enough to show it running. There is a weld(braze) on the starter kick pedal as can be seen in a couple of the pictures. The repair was done very well, but nevertheless, it was repaired. This is an underslung type mount. There is a wrench included which is also shown in the pictures. This engine is used and is being sold as/is. Anyone in the 43402 area is welcome to contact me and inspect this engine.

You are bidding on a wonderful VINTAGE BRASS STATIONARY ENGINE FLY BALL GOVERNOR MECHANISM. This unit is AWESOME! It was attached to either a model hit miss engine or electric motor. As the shaft spins the governor opens and operated the arm which moves back and forth along the wooden tray. I'm not sure what the tray held or the purpose but the unit functions great. Heavy Vintage Steam or Gas Stationary Engine Model w Boiler & Motor Tall Stack
For auction. A stationary steam engine and boiler with a tall stack. It is very heavy for its size and measures 14" wide x 16" long across the base and 19" tall to the top of the tower. Honestly. I don't normally sell this type of item; however it looked really cool. There appears to be some wires missing because the parts all don't have connections. The paint is in pretty good condition. Tin litho is heavy gauge and deeply stamped with a brick pattern. The wheel is brightly painted. This is something that needs some parts, I'm sure, but would be a fun restoration project. Vintage ACME Stationary Hit Miss Gasoline Petrol Engine Rawleigh Schryer
This is a 2 1/2hp hit miss engine tagged as the Acme Engine Company from Lansing Michingan. It was actually built by Rawleigh Schryer of Freeport Illinois. It turns over and has decent compression. Mechanically it is in pretty good shape but does have some issues. The head has been welded and will need to be cleaned up. A nut has been welded to the mixer for needle valve to screw into. Part of the rocker arm mount flange has broken off- I do have the piece that broke out. Governor collar and detent roller are rather pitted from rust. Biggest issue is that all the poured in place babbitt bearings have been melted out. The mains now have babbitt inserts laying in the rough cast bearing pockets and are crudely shimmed with washers. Rod is the same way but has bronze inserts. This is poorly done and proper babbitt must be poured before the engine ... morecan really be run. I did get it to pop a few times by squirting gas in the mixer but didn't want to chance things anymore than that. I've not had this engine apart or been further into it other than quickly cleaning the ignitor. Yes this engine needs work but I don't think it will be a difficult project. Look at all the photos very carefully and feel free to ask questions. Payment is either greenbacks or certified cheque unless prior arrangements are made. Willing to exchange this engine for another unusual hit miss engine or vintage Indian motorcycle parts. Let me know what you have. Engine is located in Mocksville North Carolina.
