Here is a model AEH 6 hp Wisconsin engine that I had the good fortune to find at a farm estate auction. The low serial numbers on this rare collectible gasoline engine dates it to 1946 and the gas tank on this vintage motor has the remains of a Gibson Lawn Tractor decal. As near as I can tell the carburetor and part of the muffler are the only missing parts on this seldom seen engine that is not stuck and turns over fine. Recent high scrap iron prices have sadly put an end to many of these heavy duty old engines and parts alone are increasingly harder to find. Witte side shaft hit and miss engine 9hp circa1905/1910 hopper cooled
This is a 9hp Witte side shaft engine dated between 1905/1910 as the factory records were lost. From a list compiled that is as near as the date can be established. There are eight 9hp engines known and some are tank cooled and this one is hopper cooled. The flywheels measure 39 1/2" and the serial number is 5041 and they are stamped from the factory to show valves opening and closing as well as the ignition. Most all the numbers i can find on the parts match the serial number. It has a round connecting rod that can be adjusted for the amount of compression needed for the fuel used and it has a lot of compression. No know cracks. Breaks or welds on the engine and the gasoline valve was just replaced. I have ran the engine but not since the new valve was installed. It is ignitor fired with a coil and battery. A couple of things that could ... morebe fixed are the intake valve could use a new bushing and the roller for the exhaust valve is worn but neither of these will affect the running. Also a couple of spokes are rusted almost through from sitting in the dirt but it does not hinder from pulling the engine. I replace eight bolts that hold the axles on one side as the old rivets were rusted almost through. I would get it to a shipped in Dallas or Fort Worth at no cost for shipping overseas but would not be responsible for any shipping arrangements or crating costs or shipping. It can be stored here for a while but must be paid for at the end of auction. This engine has been in collectors hands for many years and just now is coming up for sale. Antique Thompson Engineering Co Hit Miss Gas Engine Air Cooled Portable Motor
An Antique Thompson Engineering Co Air Cooled Portable Motor in"as found" condition. We don't know much about this small motor and it it being sold"as is" just as we found it. It has a large flywheel that measures 4 1/2" in diameter with a small notch at the end. Has an overhead valve with a bronze rocker arm. Down below is a roller and cam setup. The roller on the push rod is stuck with old grease. There is a compression release valve on top that works when pressed down. When you turn the engine over you can hear light compression. This motor has a very tiny Champion spark plug just like in the gas powered aircraft motors. The fuel tank is loose and sits on an angle. It has a small painted red knurled brass cap. The side of the motor has an opening where you can see the connecting rod move up and down. It has ... morewhat looks like a car condenser attached to the ignition device. Another small electrical device encased in hard rubber was found near by and came with the motor. The base is aluminum and measures 6" by 4" The motor stands 8" high. The number"045" is cast in the base under the flywheel. Overall. A very interesting little motor. Sort of resembles the very first Briggs& Stratton lawn mower engine only smaller. This auction is for a vintage 2 cylinder air cooled Maytag top mount hit n miss model 72-D engine. It comes with the top mounting bracket. The engine has compression and spark. I didn’t start this engine, gas tank needs cleaned, no leaks. Engine is in good physical condition with no cracks, breaks, or welds of any kind that I could find. Allmen built by debolt machine 1989 1991 production. The Allman inverted engine was designed in the 1890's. Our engine is a 1/3 scale copy of the 1 H.P. It has a 9" flywheel 1 1/4" bore. With a eccentric type Cam system. It utilizes the cast iron radiator for cooling and has high tension(Spark plug) ignition system with a unique spark saver. The governor is hit and miss type which allows the engine runs with smooth and effortless movement. This is engine runs very good. Its been sitting in my model engine display case for 3 years. Old GILSON Hit Miss Gas Engine Motor Cooling Fan Air Cooled Steam Tractor Oiler
Here's an item that doesn't come along very often! It's an original cooling fan for an air cooled Gilson hit and miss gas engine. It is in good used condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. It measures about 15 inches in diameter and the drive pulley is about 3 3/8 inches in diameter. It has the original mounting bracket with it along with the original oil cup on the end of the shaft. This cup has an"E" prefix part number. The fan seems to work as it should but it looks like some of the fins could be straightened or adjusted a bit. This should be a pretty easy task and it should be ready to cool an engine! These are often missing on Gilson engines and I can't say that I've ever seen a loose one for sale so if you need one to complete a restoration don't miss your chance on this one. Super Original Briggs Stratton PB Air Cooled Engine Steam Tractor Hit Miss Oiler
This is an extremely nice original Briggs and Stratton PB air cooled gas engine. It is in excellent original condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind that I can see or know of except for a small chipped fin near the exhaust hole. It has most of its original paint as can be seen. I haven't run the engine but the fella that I got it from last year ran it. It has good compression and I don't think it will take much to make noise. It has the original gas tank on a nice homemade steel stand. The tank has a few dents in it but has the original bronze saddles and fuel cap on it. This engine is a true survivor and would be a great addition to your early Briggs or air cooled engine collection. It would also be a great way to upgrade from the PB that you have in your lineup!
