Old Original John Lauson Hit Miss Gas Engine Ammeter Steam Tractor Magneto WOW
This is a very rare original John Lauson ammeter. It is from the same John Lauson Company in New Holstein. WI, that built the Frost King hit and miss gasoline engines. They were used to test the strength of the batteries that were being used to run the engines. It is in great condition considering it's over 100 years old and I see no reason why it wouldn't work. It has the original cloth covered wire on it which is a bit tattered but it will work the way it is. It measures about 2 1/8 inches in diameter and the only thing I see wrong with it is the glass is missing. I'm sure this would be available rather inexpensively at a local clock or watch repair shop. This would be a great addition to your early agricultural memorabilia collection or would really look nice displayed with your John Lauson engine at the shows! Vintage Lauson RSC-591 Engine, Perfect for Go Kart Mini Bike
This engin was taken out of a real barn with hay and everything here in Oregon just last week. It has been stored inside and looks real good. I can spin the shaft but it has no compression. Im sure it needs rings or piston rebuilt. I did not pull the head or wrench on anything, im leaving it just as i found it as it looks like it's in original condition. The fuel tank is clean and it's not rusted. I did drain the oil and it looked normal, no metal or anything like that. I think it's a compleat engin, i don't see anything missing aside from two screws that holds the fan couling cover. These are the perfect motor for the mini bike. It's 11 1/2 wide X 12 X 15 high and it's fairly light, about 32 pounds. The weight makes shipping a little hight but im trying to keep it at cost. Very nice running 1 1/2hp Lauson hit & miss gas engine on skids show ready L@@K!
You are bidding on a very nice. 1 1/2hp Lauson. The engine runs great and is mechanially very nice. It has great compression, and NO cracks breaks or welds that I can find. The previous owner went through this engine and he did a great job. It is mounted on incredibly nice, oak skids. It has a very nice gas tank. The pulley on it has been bushed, to fit the crankshaft but whoever did it, did an amazing job. The only drawback to this entire engine, is it's missing the nameplate, but I'm sure somebody is making them new. The engine is totally complete, with the pulley, crankgaurd, and muffler. This engine has never been abused. The only thing that it could use is maybe a new wristpin and bushing if you don't want to hear a little clunking. The only reason you can hear the clunking like you do is because the solid flywheels amplify ... moreevery noise inside the crankcase. This engine is about as nice as you could hope for. If you don't mind a little wrist pin noise, which 90% of engines have, then this engine is ready for the shows. This was an engine in my personal collection, but need to sell off some engines to fund other projects. Brand new grease cups on everything, and it has the hard to find tin oiler! I can deliver this engine to Portland, IN swap meet or show, as well as Coolspring, PA show for $35. I can also strap this engine and deliver to Fastenal to be shipped for $40. Lauson Antique Gas Stationary Engine - Motor
This 1939. Lauson Built, cast iron motor was sold as a Montgomery/Ward product. The Lauson name is cast into the crankcase, but MW put their name on the ID tag. It starts with one pull and runs very well. No smoke, no misfires. It runs just like it should. I completely restored it and painted it while disassembled. The round gas tank has some small dents that I was unable to remove due to lack of internal access. Mounted on a solid oak board. Great show engine if you belong to a club. Old 3 1/2hp Lauson Alpha Hit Miss Gas Engine Antique Motor Steam Tractor WOW
This is a 3 1/2hp John Lauson/Alpha Model W hit and miss gas engine. It is a true hit and miss engine and was built by the John Lauson Company for the DeLaval Dairy Supply Company. It is a restoration project that was started and needs to be finished. It is mostly complete except it is missing the Wico EK magneto as can be seen but these turn up quite frequently here on Ebay. It has the correct hinged cast iron crank guard. The piston and rod are out because the wrist pin came loose at some point and scored the cylinder. The grooves have been JB welded and it needs to be honed back out. The fella that did this had very good luck with this method on several other engines. There is a repair on the detent pivot and on the rocker arm as can be seen. The head has already been repaired. The engine has been repainted at some point in its working ... moreday. It needs some other small generic engine parts like valve springs. Keepers, and some new head studs as three of the originals are twisted off. With a little patience and time this should be a pretty straightforward project. These are very good running engines when they are dialed in. The 3 1/2hp is the largest of the W series and is quite tough to find compared to the 1 1/2 and 2 1/2hp sizes. The pictures tell the story. I can deliver this to Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year for free. I can also ship it quite reasonably through Fastenal. He took it to several tractor shows. He has had these engine in storage for the past 12 years. The engine has very little run time on it. Lauson Side Shaft Engine HB30B Complete Good Compression Mini Bike
Here is a Lauson Horizontal shaft aluminum block engine. Tag numbers are HB30B 30246 and"no" 7898231. It has lots of compression and the fuel tank looks real good inside. All the carburetor parts are free. It does not have spark and part of the air cleaner is missing. This is a great little mini bike size engine for any type of project. I have never seen a Lauson like this in 30 + years of collecting small engines. It is probably some of the last they made. The engine does have quite a bit of a oil dirt mix on the exterior and some of it hardend which helped"preserve" it. To box it for shipping I removed the fuel tank and carburetor. The linkages are marked so you can see where they came from originally. Every bolt I encountered loosened ok. The shut off metal stop lever broke( my bad) so I provided a good used one. This is an old LAUSON engine cart in very good condition. I can find no cracks. Breaks or welds. Just add your own rails and your in business. This cart has the 1 ½“ solid steel axles that are 32“ wide so it should handle a sizable engine. The rear wheels are 17 ½“ dia. X 2 ½“ wide and the fronts are 13 ½“ dia. X 2 ½“ wide. I am not sure if the handle is original or not but it is an original formed steel handle in very good condition and works well. This is a very nice set of engine trucks. Vintage Lauson 4 cycle engine vertical shaft
This is an old Lauson 4 cycle engine. It has a vertical shaft so you should be able use it on a minibike or go cart. Very cool looking and old school. I do not know how much compression it has. The shaft moved so I believe it is not frozen up. Please email me with any questions in regards to the motor. I have 25 of these motors that I will be listing. Engine turns over and had 50 psi compression until the intake valve stuck and it now has no compression. has good spark and the fuel tank is clean and does not smell varnished. It does appear to have tank sealer in the bottom. the air cleaner plastic is warped slightly but not cracked. Continental AC-6. SPEC. 702T this engine was used on a carnival ride made by the pony tractor company in Lincoln Nebraska. local pickup is ok. I think there are some missing parts like the gas tank and maybe more. Some of the fins on top are broke off and there are a couple of chips broke off on the front recoil rope pulley. antique kick start Lauson RAY gas engine
For sale is what I think is a Lauson RAY- it is missing the tag. I'm pretty sure it is the wrong carb on the engine(the intake tube has been welded) Two of the lugs are broken off the base. The engine turns over but does not seem to have much compression. These engines are a little hard to find. I have to many projects and will likely never get around to this one so it's time to send it down the road. Vintage Lauson Techumseh Engine Motor Running Restored
Bought at auction recently still has some stale gas in it. Has great compression and fire so I know with just a little cleanup it will run. Looks to be complete and a recient repaint and decal job. Nicely done but I think it's probably Chevy orange and I doubt it's a 4 hp but I'm no expert. Original plate it's still legible.
