2 VINTAGE MATCHING LARGE CAST IRON HIT & MISS ENGINE CART WHEELS-20" DIAMETER
Up for auction is a pair of two matching vintage original Hit& Miss Engine cart wheels that are 20" diameter with a 3" face and a 1 9/16" hub diameter. Each wheel has 10 spokes and there is rust and some pitting but no broken. Thin, or missing spokes. There is a piece out of one hub that is clearly visible in photo#4. These are extremely well made, heavy duty wheels and the one small piece missing in the one hub will not affect their use in any way and could easily be repaired. Old Original Sparta Economy Hercules Jobber Hit Miss Engine Cart Truck Steam
This is a real nice original jobber style engine cart or truck for a hit and miss gas engine. I believe it was used under the 1hp Sparta Economy and several others. It would look great under any 1-2hp engine and would certainly make moving it easier. It is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind and includes the original pull handle. The wheels measure 8 1/2 inches in diameter with a 2 inch face. The wheels are nice and tight on the axles and the cart is ready to set an engine on and use it. 4 Antique Cast Iron Scale Wheels for Hit Miss Gas Engine Cart, 5 in, old vintage
Here is a great set of 4 matching antique cast iron wheels. They each have 6 spokes that curve slightly. Giving them an attractive look. These wheels are 5 inches in diameter with a 1 7/16 inch tread or rolling surface. The axle hole is 11/16 inches in diameter. When we got them they were rusty, but we have cleaned the rust off of them with a wire brush and buffing pad. A small amount of light rust remains in the center holes and in between the spokes. These wheels are embossed with PA13 on one of the spokes. They came off of an old industrial scale cart. They would be perfect for a hit and miss engine cart, antique machinery display, or industrial furniture project.

Hit and Miss engine with 2 cart wheels up for auction. It is a Hercules Economy Engine with a possible 2- 3 hp. The fly wheels move freely and the piston goes back and forth smoothly. This engine needs restoration as it is not running. It has points but they need some work. It also needs a coil and battery. Here are the measurements: Cart wheels- 17 1/2" by 3" wide. This is a nice JD model E 3hp gas engine on a steel wheeled cart. I am selling the motor for a friend and he said it ran great when it was put into storage a few years ago and shouldn't take much to get it running again. The original gas tank is rusted out and will need a new tank. The guy that I'm selling it for just hooked up a different tank to run it. He had the motor stored in his barn and it was always dry in there and he kept them lubed and always turned them over from time to time. He took good care of them! And the cart is in nice shape too. 1 1/2 HP John Deere Hit and Miss Engine on Original Factory Cart
Up for sale is a nice little 1 1/2 HP John Deere hit and miss gas engine. This is a nice complete engine on the original factory cart. The original factory Deere carts are even rarer than the engines! I've sold these carts for $600-$700 before. But this one is in excellent condition and goes with the engine. The serial number is 319964 making it a 1930 model. I don't see any missing or broken pieces on this engine. No repairs that I can see. I also looked and didn't see any freeze cracks. That all being said, this engine is 83 years old and has to be sold as it due to the age. I turned it back and forth a little bit and the engine seems to be nice and smooth and tight(no knocks) but I didn't want to turn it over before the magneto and rocker arm/valves are loosened and oiled. I took this engine out of a shed where it had been ... moresitting for probably 40 years. It is a nice original barn fresh engine that would make an excellent project for someone. It shouldn't take a lot of work to have it up and going. The fuel tank even looks really good from the outside. About the only thing I can see that is worn is the pulley. It has some holes in it from having a belt wrapped around it and being wet, but it shouldn't hurt anything for just being a show piece. Up for bid is a neat old horizontal steam engine. The unit moves freely and smoothly and there are no breaks or repairs I can see. I could not find any name on this unit. It does come with a Lunkenheimer. Acme, and an Essex oiler. Flywheel is 10" x 4-1/4" wide. Crank wheel is 7" diameter. The whole unit measure 34" long by 21" wide by 28" tall. The unit with wooden base weighs 180 lbs. The unit is mounted to a nice roll around pull cart. The unit is dirty and is as found. The previous owner also spray painted these very haphazardly. Antique Hit And Miss Fairbanks Gas Engine With Great Original Truck Or Cart
For sale a nice 11/2 hp Fairbanks Morse hit and miss antique stationary gas engine. Engine is loose and is an older restoration and was run a few years ago. But I have not tried to run it. Everything looks good and should run with little work. I could not find any visible cracks or welds. Motor is an early igniter fired engine that runs on battery and coil and has no magneto. Motor looks fairly complete and should make a nice show piece. Pulley has one rust spot on it but is usable. The cart is original fairbanks not homemade and has always been on the engine. Nice 12 inch wheels, has some wear but like the engine in pretty good shape for about 100 years old. These carts sale for good money by themselves but want to keep with engine so will not separate. Sandwich 2 ½ hp tulip top hit miss gas engine. This engine has probably been indoors all its life. I started cleaning engine and I would say under all the grease it probably retains 80 to 90 percent original paint but still needs a lot of cleaning. I believe all it needs is the rod bearing and it will be ready to go. The rod and crank throw are in good condition. I reworked mag but did not clean it to retain original appearance. MAG IS VERY HOT. I have been in the hobby for 20+ years and am now going back to my old cars and it all will sell. I built the quality cart for easy transport but it is not original. Personally I thought the small original carts were unsafe for this size engine. Not many like this one are around. Sort of a odd ball engine rear gas fill. Wet head.Valves side by side instead of up and down. Rocker was welded a long time ago. Lot of org paint under the grease. Wico mag is hot. It's missing one tooth on crank gear and the crank gear is loose on the crank. Easy fix. Also have the org starting crank. Cart wheels have small chips in them rolls good. Restored Domestic 4HP Hit Miss Engine with Pump on Factory Cart
This is 4hp Domestic hit miss engine that I restored. It is mounted on a factory cart with a high-pressure pump. I bead blasted the engine to bare metal. And primed with epoxy primer. The paint is PPG urethane single-stage. The cart was bead blasted and powder coated satin black. The rings and piston look to be factory. The main bearings are newer and very tight. I rebuilt the magneto with original coils, and the spark is very strong. The side shaft and all moving parts are not painted, they are covered in clear grease to keep them from rusting. The faces on the flywheels are nice but not 100% perfect. There are no cracks or welds on the engine. The high-pressure pump was repaired in the past, after the parts were bead blasted I went over every repair to make sure it was done well. The pump has a new piston and seal, the 4 pump plugs could ... moreuse some attention. I shot the video while the engine was cold, I have only ran the engine for about 2 hours since I finished the restoration. It runs great and sounds like a Domestic with lots of clicks and clatter. I think it could run even slower with some tweaking. Take a look at the photos for the condition of the pump parts, and if you have any questions please let me know. I enjoy repairing and restoring antique equipment, I think it's a privilege to work on machines that have been around for nearly 100 years. This cart has cast iron axles and some cast on the wheels. The remainder of the cart is steel. It has been bead blasted and it has a light coat of grey primer. It is 53 inches long without the handle. 26 inches wide to the outside of the wheel tread, 17 inches tall, Handle is 50 inches long. It has the"Illinois G USA" on the angle iron frame as seen in the second picture. There is a crack in the rear angle iron frame as seen in the 7th picture. The person I got this from said it had a wood deck on it at one time and the some of the bolts that held the wood to the metal frame are in the plastic jar as seen in last(9th) picture. Other wise this cart is in excellent condition. I would estimate the weight of this cart at 80 or more pounds. Gear Running Wagon Antique Steel Wheels Hit Miss Cart McCormick Deering Old Good
Antique McCormick Deering running gear in super nice condition very straight and only one small repair that I have noticed. The repair is on the rear bolster where the reach ties in, can be seen in the pix below. McCormick Deering painted on the rear bolster is faded and hard to read but there. Wheels have some play but not bad, rolls very nicely. Measurements are approximate. Rear wheels 34" in dia. front wheels 27" dia. width outside rim to outside rim in 63" The wheel base hub to hub is 83" and it looks like the adjustable reach will allow at least 3 feet more in length of wheel base. Antique Primitive Hit Miss Buzz Saw Steam Engine Trailer Cart 20" wheels OBO!
WOW! Here is a rare pull behind trailer made of all steel and all original! Not sure of brand? There is a stamp on the tongue but not sure what it means. The tongue has a number#2317 L. Each wheel has a number#2313 L. Each wheel is 20" diameter. The tongue can separate from the axle and go on a Ball hitch. The axle has a ball on it that the front of the trailer sits on. Measurements are as follows: Width of the back outside of wheels is 53 1/2" wide. Front is 21 5/8" wide to outside of wheels. Length of trailer is about 5' long. The main area in the back to mount something on is 25" x 42 1/2" I am not sure if it had a hit miss motor on this or a buzz saw. The front wheels are offset for either one. Original FULLER JOHNSON Hit Miss Gas Engine Cart Truck Steam Tractor Magneto WOW
This is an extremely hard to find original cart for a small Fuller and Johnson hit and miss gas engine. It has the original handle on the front axle. I'm pretty sure it has the original wood board on it but may have a few extra holes in it. The wheels measure 8 inches in diameter with a 2 inch face and all have the J482 part number on them. It is in excellent original condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind and is ready to be put to use under an engine. This cart was used under the 1 1/2 and 2hp Model N engines from the factory and probably the Multi Motor and will work for any engine of the 1-2 1/2 hp size. Old FAIRBANKS MORSE Z Headless Hit Miss Gas Engine Cart Steam Tractor Ignitor
This is a nice old 1 1/2 horsepower Fairbanks Morse headless Z gas engine. It is a true hit and miss gas engine. It turns over nicely and has great compression even though it hasn't run for a few years. It has the original crank guard which is almost always missing. Each of the mounting ears on the crank guard has a very well done old repair on them and they work the way they should. It has an authentic reproduction gas tank and muffler on it. There are no cracks. Breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. It is missing the fuel line which would be pretty easy to make or can be obtained from several of the hobby suppliers. It is ignitor fired and can be run with a battery and low tension coil. It shouldn't take much work at all to make noise with it! It is on the original cart that it left the factory on and the cart is in excellent ... morecondition as well. All in all this is a pretty nice package with a true hit and miss engine with an open crankcase and on the original cart. HIT MISS STAIONARY ENGINE/factory cart-nice one for sure!!
I bought this cart several; years ago and it was in bad shape. Cleaned it up. Repainted it, rebuilt the decking using 3/4" rock[sugar]maple boards screwed down on to 2" square rails using U.S. made stainless steel screws. Wheels have Zerk fittings, roll very easily, and have rubber on the rims which is great if you have a sealed blacktop drive way! The handle is bent as you can see but can be fixed if need be. It measures 47 1/2" long, is 23 1/2" wide. stands 14 1/2 high, and the handle with the tung is 45" long. This cart is extremely well designed and made and will be of good service for many years to come. I hate to have to sell this but find I must do so. 4 vintage cast iron hit miss industrial cart wheels 3 7/8 + 4 1/4 inch diameter
A group of 4 cast iron wheels that that were removed from a vintage ARCADE stove or pallet jack type cart. The front wheels are apr. 3 7/8 inches in diameter and the rear wheels are apr. 4 1/4 inches in diameter. The face of the wheel is apr. 15/16 inch wide. The axle hole is apr. 5/8 inch in diameter. One side of the wheel is flat. The other side of the wheel has a raised rib design. We gave the wheels a very basic cleaning to look for any cracks etc. none was found. May need a further cleaning depending upon your use. Plenty of lighting was used to show as much detail as possible. The item may have glare spots or look shiner than what it really is. Any? Stover model T 4.5HP hit miss engine on cart - very nice original condition
Stover Model T hit/miss engine- tagged Bracket. Shaw, and Lunt. Dated from mid-teens. VERY nice original condition, all original paint, traces of original hopper decal visible, original brass tag there and 100% intact. Engines starts easily and will run all day. Fired by a Webster low-tension mag and internal points. Bearings are tight, compression is strong, engine sits on a heavy steel custom built cart with cast iron wheels. Water jacket and head had a minor crack in them, about 2" long. I v'd the crack out and drilled the ends, cleaned it with acetone, and patched the crack with Fasteel. Very hard to see, doesn't leak, doesn't affect the engine's function in any way at all. Has original muffler and period correct brass oiler, may original, but I have no way of telling. Engine is VERY heavy. Probably 1500+ lbs with ... morethe cart. Pick up in Monroe, CT.

Original PERU WATERLOO Hit Miss Gas Engine Cart Truck Steam Tractor Magneto WOW
This is a very hard to find original set of horse trucks for a hit and miss gas engine made by the Peru Plow Company in Peru. Illinois. They were used under Waterloo engines and many other companies as well. The wheels measure 34 and 26 inches in diameter with a 4 inch face and are in great condition and roll very nicely. It is in great condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It needs new wood for the pole. It is is ready to be put to use under an engine just as it is. There is some pitting on some of the steel but nothing that takes away from it's functionality. The rails are 6 inch channel iron and are 13 1/2 inches apart to the outsides and 96 inches long. These can be adjusted in width rather easily. These trucks should work for a larger 4hp engine up to an 8 or maybe a 9hp engine. This is an old LAUSON engine cart in very good condition. I can find no cracks. Breaks or welds. Just add your own rails and your in business. This cart has the 1 ½“ solid steel axles that are 32“ wide so it should handle a sizable engine. The rear wheels are 17 ½“ dia. X 2 ½“ wide and the fronts are 13 ½“ dia. X 2 ½“ wide. I am not sure if the handle is original or not but it is an original formed steel handle in very good condition and works well. This is a very nice set of engine trucks.
