1936 to 1941 Briggs and Stratton model WM gas engine
This auction is for a Briggs and Stratton model WM gas engine. According to my reference search this would be a small 1/2 hp motor for a washing machine era 1936 to 1941. Pretty much the same era of the old Cushman motor scooter origins. This has the data plate on it showing the type. Model, and serial number. I don't know much about these type engines but I can turn it by hand and can feel the cycle of the piston so it is not stuck. It has a Champion sparkplug. The little carb is intact and comes with a gas tank. This is rope start. Please take a look at the photos and email me with any questions. I prefer for a pickup here in Denver. Up for bid is an old running briggs and stratton model n with the rare kick start& rope backup pulley. Don't know much about these but I was able to look up it's serial number of 80850 to find that it was manufactured between S eptember and October of 1942. This is also supposedly a WWII military era/issued because of several things including.kick start option. Brass id tag with screws not rivets and the od green paint. I was able to put gas in it and she fired right up.idle was adjusted lower after this video as well. Please see video of engine running below. RARE BRIGGS & STRATTON MODEL NP MOTOR GAS ENGINE VERY GOOD ORIGINAL CONDITION
This is a 100% complete briggs model NP it has been in storage for a long time the original breather glass gas bowl and decals are in great shape. I have not put gas in it or tried to start it but it has really good compression and no play anywhere. I have no doubt that this would make someone a good running engine. This is a really rare. Nice old kick-start washing machine motor made by Briggs and Stratton. It is Model# FH Serial# 50538. The Patent Date is: 9-21-26. I tried looking up the serial number, and the information I found says it was actually manufactured in 1928. This little engine is truly a barn find that I picked up years ago. Other than the oil I put in the cylinder after pulling the spark plug, it is just as I found it, spider webs, dust and dirt and all. It turns over well, seems to have good compression, and gave me a jolt when I grabbed the plug while turning it over. I didn't try to start it because I have been told it is not good for older engines like this that have been sitting for a long time to try to start them before cleaning up the gas tank, carburetor, etc. It looks like an easy restoration with no dents, dings, or damage ... moreanyplace that I can see. If you want a rare engine that is a true survivor from the good ole days for that special project, washing machine restoration, or unique antique engine collection this may be just what you are looking for. 1927-1929 Briggs & Stratton MODEL FH with EARLY FE flywheel machine gas engine
Up for auction is a Briggs and Stratton Model FH. I only have the parts you see here. This FH is a slant fin block with a pot metal carb of which only about 3.000 were built. From what I understand, Pot slant fins serial numbers ran from about 26437 to 29705, accounting for only a few months of production. The engine is locked up from sitting, but the flywheel still turns, I'm guessing it has no key anymore, but I have not taken anything apart to look. The engine is missing it's shroud and also serial number tag. Before I got it. It was under a work bench for about 40 years. It still has a tag on it from when it was supposedly abandoned in a small engine repair shop decades ago. I bought it intending to restore it. However, I've picked up a project that is going to require more of my attention then I thought. I wish I could describe ... morethis better. But I think the photos do a better job then my words could. From a very helpful ebayer: Just thought I would point one thing out about your engine. I noticed. the flywheel is the early style. Used on the FE's and really early FH's. If you took it off and compared it to a later flywheel. Say from a late FH or a Model A Briggs you would see the difference right away. The magnets are bolted in on this flywheel. That's what those two bolt heads are sticking out between the fins are for. Earlier bolt in flywheels for F and FB's had the magnets held in place by a stud that went in through the face of the flywheel. If you have any questions. Please feel free to email me. Vintage 1933 Briggs & Stratton Model A gas engine
1933 Briggs& Stratton engine. Type 60260, model A, serial No. 756. Probably 1 HP; not marked on engine; this is best guess after talking with experts. It is a crank-type starter, which is rare. Missing parts are: crank, gas tank, muffler and air cleaner cover. One mounting base ear is broken off and missing. Engine needs a valve job, but it comes with a new exhaust valve. Antique Old Briggs & Stratton Engine Model PB Hit Miss Gas Motor Tillotson Carb
This is an antique Briggs and Stratton model PB gasoline engine which was recently discovered during a barn clean- out. This motor is in'as found' condition and has not been cleaned or worked on. It does not run and is being sold for restoration or parts use. It appears to be mostly intact and does turn by hand. The exterior has it's share of dirt and rust and looks to have some cooling fin damage(see pictures) The model tag is attached to the shroud and in good shape. The ignition wire is present but not attached to the old champion spark plug. And the exhaust pipe looks to be half gone. The Tillotson carburetor is intact although it swivels easily on its' mounting. Please study the pictures carefully, as I have little knowledge of these engines. Rare Briggs and Stratton Model FG Gas Engine Vintage Briggs & Stratton Antique
Very rare Model FG Briggs and Stratton engine. Engine appears to be complete and all parts move freely. I have pulled the spark plug and checked it has good spark. When I pulled the rope to check spark it sounds like it has compression and will most likely run. I did not try to start this engine. It looks like it has not had fuel in the tank for a long time. This is so rare and I am not a small engine collector, I thought I would leave running it to someone who knows the correct procedures. This is a Briggs and Stratton model NPR1.39D. The PTO on this Briggs turns opposite the crankshaft. This was a military engine. You can see the OD green paint under the old re-spray. here is a nice. Clean, just sandblasted and primered. drive pulley for the Briggs and Stratton models WM and WMB. It has the correct 1/2" left hand tread. So you turn it counter clockwise to screw it on the flywheel side of the engine to adapt a V-belt which essentially drives whatever you desire.washing machine. Ice cream churn, generator. The pulley diameter is approx. 2 3/8" which corresponds with the Briggs parts manual under# 29743. I've seen(and have) plenty of little Briggs engines. However, it seems just few have these pulleys still installed.
