Old Webster JY IHC Famous Titan Hit Miss Gas Engine Magneto Steam Tractor HOT!!
This is a real nice original Webster JY magneto for a hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind except for one small ear of the body being chipped off. The piece is there and it would be tough to notice with a little space age adhesive. I didn't notice it when I took the pictures. This is a BIG magneto that has many applications in the gas engine world, most notably the big International Harvester Famous and Titan line. It mounts on a 2 1/2 x 2 13/16 inch bolt pattern and the mounting threads are in great shape. It has new springs and three new rollers on it. It has been recharged and puts out a hot, fat, blue spark that is sure to run your engine if it is set up properly. It has the original leadout cover on it but it has some chips out of it. Old Barnes Brass Cylinder Water Pump Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor Magneto
This is a really neat original Barnes hand water pump. It was made by the Barnes Manufacturing Company in Mansfield. Ohio. It stands about 21 inches tall and is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It has a brass pump cylinder that would polish up nicely! Everything moves as it should. Old Sunlight Generator Briggs WMB Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor Magneto WOW
This is a really neat and unusual Sunlight 110 volt portable generator. It was made by the Sunlight Electrical Manufacturing Company in Warren. Ohio. It has a Briggs and Stratton WMB engine on it for power. The engine is kick start and turns over nicely with great compression. The generator turns over nicely and seems to be in good condition. It is missing one of the doors on the back side but the other one is there for a pattern to reproduce one. The original gas tank is there and is in decent shape with a couple of small dings. Surprisingly the engine has it's original muffler which is almost never seen! I think with just a little cleaning this could be a running setup. I personally have never seen another one but I'm sure there's a few out there. Old Hercules Hit Miss Gas Engine Sales Brochure Steam Tractor Magneto Oiler WOW
This is a very unusual original sales brochure for Hercules gas engines. It is a foldable pocket brochure that has been unfolded and laminated sometime in the past to protect it from wear. It measures about 7 x 10 1/4 inches and shows the 1 3/4 Style E. F, and G, connected to different kinds of pumps. It also shows the portable tilting table saw outfit as well as the drag saw. The back of it shows the complete list of nationwide repair parts service stations and it also has a list of"dealers who have large stocks of repairs" I have seen lots of interesting and rare original sales literature but have never seen this particular piece. It is in good condition for its age with the exception of the missing piece in the lower right corner which doesn't affect much more than the eye appeal of the piece. Old Smith Great Western Haish Hit Miss Gas Engine Ignitor Steam Tractor Magneto
This is a very rare original ignitor for a Smith Great Western hit and miss gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks or repairs of any kind. It is part number E240 and mounts to the engine with two 1/2 inch holes 3 inches apart on center. The points look like they have been replaced with nails many decades ago. These would be easy and inexpensive to replace if you so choose. This is a very hard to find part for a very hard to find engine so if you need one to finish a restoration or just for a spare on the shelf don't miss this one. Old Lasure Hit Miss Gas Engine Clutch Pulley Steam Tractor Magneto Oiler NICE!!
This is an extremely nice and very hard to find original clutch pulley for a hit and miss gas engine. It was made by the Lasure Friction Pulley Company in Watertown. Wisconsin and fits on a 2 1/4 inch diameter crankshaft and could be bored to fit a 2 1/2 inch shaft. It could also be bushed to fit anything smaller. It has a 6 1/4 inch face and is 10 1/4 inches in diameter. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs and everything works as it should. It snaps in and out very nicely and is ready to be put to work on an engine. These clutches rarely turn up in the wild or even at swap meets and they surely make it easier to use your engine to run belt driven implements! The pictures tell the story. Old Spiegel Chainsaw Fairbanks Morse Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor Magneto
This is a very unique and rather hard to find original Spiegel chainsaw. It seems to be in very good condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. It has a big 20 inch bar on it. It has a Fairbanks Morse recoil which needs some minor attention as it doesn't retract all the way and it also needs the link between the finger throttle hooked back up. The pieces seem to be there to do it. It turns over nicely with super compression and I'm sure it wouldn't take much to make noise with it! Old Original John Lauson Hit Miss Gas Engine Ammeter Steam Tractor Magneto WOW
This is a very rare original John Lauson ammeter. It is from the same John Lauson Company in New Holstein. WI, that built the Frost King hit and miss gasoline engines. They were used to test the strength of the batteries that were being used to run the engines. It is in great condition considering it's over 100 years old and I see no reason why it wouldn't work. It has the original cloth covered wire on it which is a bit tattered but it will work the way it is. It measures about 2 1/8 inches in diameter and the only thing I see wrong with it is the glass is missing. I'm sure this would be available rather inexpensively at a local clock or watch repair shop. International Harvester IHC TYPE L Steam Gas Engine Tractor Magneto Oiler
A really nice International Harvester Type L magneto. This mag fits the IHC M engine. There are no cracks. Breaks or welds to be found, except for the bolt mount on the bottom of the mag(as pictured) but this shouldn't be to hard to fix. Old Cretors Popcorn Wagon Steam Engine Hit Miss Gas Tractor Magneto Oiler NICE!
This is an old Cretors popcorn wagon steam engine that was offered by Paul Breisch several years ago. It measures about 23 1/2 inches long and has a 8 1/2 inch flywheel. It turns over nicely and I hooked it up to air and it runs just as it should. It has lots of brass parts that would look great all polished up. I don't know who did the machine work on it but it was done pretty nicely. It does need some"period" looking fasteners but this would be pretty simple. Old Original Marsh Steam Engine Tractor Water Pump Hit Miss Gas Magneto Oiler
This is a pretty nice original Marsh steam pump built by the American Steam Pump Company in Battle Creek. Michigan. It is in good condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can find or know of. Everything on it moves freely as it should. The only flaw that I know of is that it needs a piston on the big end and the cover for that end along with a few fasteners. These should be easy to make and then you'll have a perfect pump. It measures about 17 inches long and about 12 1/2 inches tall. These pumps certainly don't turn up very often in the wild or even at swap meets so if you've been looking one don't miss your chance on this one. It's a pretty nice one. Old 1877 Crosby Brass Steam Engine Tractor Train Whistle Hit Miss Magneto WOW
This is a rather unique early Crosby brass steam whistle. It measures about 2 1/4 inches in diameter at it's largest point and about 8 1/4 inches long. It is completely made of brass or bronze except for the lever which is cast iron. There are three separate chambers in the top part of the whistle. There are no cracks. Breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of and other than a few dings and minor dents to give it age authenticity. It was made by the Crosby Steam Gage and Valve Company in Boston, Massachusetts. It was patented on January 30, 1877. I'm not sure if the top finial is original or not as it doesn't thread on any further although the threads on the stem and in the nut are in good shape. Old Fairbanks Morse J Allis Chalmers Tractor Magneto Hit Miss Engine Steam Oiler
This is an original Fairbanks Morse Type J4B73 four cylinder flange mount magneto for an Allis Chalmers tractor. Power unit, or other application. It is clockwise rotation and the impulse works perfectly. The magneto is fresh out of the estate of an early Allis Chalmers collector. It is untested for spark. It does need a distributor cap as there are a couple issue areas on it but it would probably work the way it is. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs anywhere else on it. Original Fairbanks Morse 2hp T Hit Miss GAS Engine Magneto Steam Tractor NICE!!
This is an outstanding original 2hp Fairbanks Morse Vertical T hit and miss gas engine. It is in excellent condition as can be seen in the photos. It is very unusual in that it is a factory natural gas engine as it came from the factory. It has a very unique fuel system on it. There are no cracks. Breaks, or repairs that I can find or know of. It has the original muffler, and correct early style Michigan cylinder oilers and belt pulley on it. It is on a homemade cart that makes it easy to move around. It has a gear driven water pump and screen cooler that is not original but work as they should. Nothing on the engine was altered to add these and they could easily be removed if you didn't like them. This engine has tons of original paint on the crankcase and flywheels. I believe the cylinder and head were repainted MANY years ago and the ... morepaint matches perfect. It is actually flaking off of the the original nickel paint that was used on the head at the factory. This engine has excellent compression and very little wear in the bearings or anywhere. A previous owner went through it very thoroughly and ran it at several shows. I've never run it but see no reason that it wouldn't start right up. These are very desirable engines and this unique one would be a sure attention getter at the shows! These engines don't turn up for sale very often and they are almost never this nice and original. You are bidding on an exceptionally nice single bar Webster M magneto. This mag is about as good as I have ever had. There are absolutely no cracks. Chips, or problems with this magneto whatsoever. Has lots of the original gold paint on it, and a real nice name band. The studs in the bottom of the mag are perfect and nice and tight. Comes with the original nuts. Even has the original wire, which is just fine yet. Finding one of these pot metal Websters in this condition is very rare. Original Small ATLAS Rock Crusher Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor Magneto NICE
This is an extremely nice original and very hard to find small sized belt driven rock crusher. It is an"Atlas Crusher" made by the Nelson Machinery Company in Vancouver. British Columbia. It is in EXCELLENT original condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind except for one of the grease fittings being broken off. I had it out to grease it and it will be easy to replace. It turns over nicely with no noticeable wear in the bearings or even on the jaws! It certainly could not have seen much use! The jaw opening is 5 1/2 inches. The overall size of the machine is 20 inches wide x 16 inches long x 20 1/2 inches tall. It has 13 and 14 1/4 inch flywheels on it. One flywheel has v-belt grooves machined into it as it was when it left the factory. It would work just fine with a flat belt on it for show purposes. The flywheels ... morehave the name in raised letters and the crusher has some decent original paint on it yet. The only thing that will require some minor attention is that both adjustment knobs are stuck but I'm sure with a little heat these would loosen up. Everything else seems to work as it should. Original WOOD Dynamo Generator Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor Magneto NICE!
This is a very hard to find original WOOD dynamo or generator. It was built by the Fort Wayne Electric Works in Fort Wayne. Indiana. The last patent date on the serial tag is 1894. I'm not an expert on these but it seems to be in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs. The fella I got it from said he removed it from it's original installation just last year. It turns nicely with very little wear in the bearings. I don't know if anything is missing on the working end so look at the pictures carefully. There are two original brush holders on it and the other posts look like they never had anything on them. The dynamo measures about 21 inches tall, 18 inches wide, and 31 1/2 inches long overall. The original serial tag says that the generator is a 125 volt, 5kw, 40 amps, 1800rpm, and it has an Exciter. Nice Original AC Magnet Magneto Charger Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor WOW
This is a very hard to find original factory built magnet charger made by the Indiana General Company. It is in excellent original condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. It has the original name tag on it and also nice original paint and the cord is in excellent condition. It measures about 10 inches wide x 5 inches deep and is 8 1/2 inches tall. It was used very recently in the shop of a fella that rebuilt aircraft magnetos and works just the way it should. Old 3hp FAIRBANKS MORSE Z Red Line Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor Magneto WOW
This is a rather hard to find 3hp Fairbanks Morse Z that left the factory as a hit and miss engine instead of a throttling governor as most of the Z's are. These were commonly called the"Red" line engines. It is an older repaint and turns over nicely with very little wear anywhere. It has excellent compression and has been run in the last few years. There are no cracks. Breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of except for a very well done repair on the rocker tower which I've pointed out in the pictures. The engine has the factory belt pulley, oiler, and coil box on it, all of which are usually missing. The original gas tank looks to be in great shape as well. The original starting crank is with it. Old BROWNELL Horizontal Steam Engine Boiler Hit Miss Tractor Magneto Oiler WOW!
This is an original horizontal steam engine and vertical boiler combination that was used in industry many years ago. I don't know what make the engine is but it looks very similar to an Atlas. The vertical boiler has"Power Mining and Machinery Company International Mixer. Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Brownell Company, Dayton, Ohio casted into it. The boiler measures about 28 inches in diameter and about 66 inches tall overall. It seems to be in good decent condition with the exception of the broken door frame which shouldn't be real tough to repair. It is stamped from the factory on the side"BROWNELL HS 60, WIS SPECIAL 409, WP 100 B1. The base of the engine measures about 23 inches wide x 70 inches long. The head cover is about 10 1/2 inches in diameter. The pulley flywheels are 40 and 20 inches in diameter with 10 1/2 inch faces. ... moreThe overall with of the crankshaft with the pulleys is 50 1/2 inches. The engine is stuck and will need some level of restoration. It is complete with the exception of the eccentric that runs off of the crank to operate the admission valve but I don't think it would be a big project to come up with something that will work and look correct on this engine. Included is a smokestack but I don't know if it was original to this setup. It was together when I got it. I think this combination would be pretty straightforward project. This is a VERY hard to find original owner's manual and parts book for the Associated hit and miss and throttling governor gas engines made in Waterloo. Iowa. It measures about 6 x 9 1/4 inches with 36 pages and is in excellent condition for being nearly a century old! It covers all of the engines they built from 1 3/4 to 25hp. It is heavily illustrated with the parts and would be a great reference piece in your library or also a nice display piece along with your engine at the shows. Old SPROUT WALDRON Stone Mill Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor Magneto NICE!
This is a very hard to find original Sprout Waldron stone grist mill or grain grinder. It is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. It stands about 34 inches tall and made almost entirely of cast iron. Everything seems to work as it should and there doesn't seem to be much wear anywhere on it. It has an oscillating action for the shaker pan. This has to be one one of the most unique designs for a grinder that I've seen and it's one of the smaller ones so it's easy to move around! This would look great powered by a hit and miss engine or steam engine to grind corn. Just think of the ground corn you could sell at the shows! Original TAYLOR Dynamo Generator Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor Magneto NICE!
This is a very hard to find original Taylor Signal Company dynamo or generator. It was built by the Tayor Signal Company in Buffalo. New York or Chicago, Ilinois. It is a rather early design and is very narrow field frame. I'm not an expert on these but it seems to be in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs. It turns nicely with very little wear in the bearings. There is some end play in the shaft but I really don't think it would affect its performance. The dynamo measures about 16 inches tall, 16 inches wide, and 24 inches long overall. It has some decent original paint on it as can be seen. The original heavy cast brass serial tag says that the generator is a 110/150 volt, 1kw, 7.5 amps, and 1400 rpm. Original 3hp IHC Type M Gas Engine WICO EK Magneto Steam Tractor Ignitor Oiler
This is a real nice original barn fresh 3hp International Harvester Type M gas engine. It is a throttle governed gas engine. It turns over nicely and has excellent compression even though it hasn't run for a few years. It has Wico EK magneto on it and also a nice large belt pulley. It has the original gas tank in it and it seems pretty solid. It has a very old repair on the rocker stand and on the fuel pump but both are fairly hard to see because the fuel pump is tucked under the magneto. the original muffler should probably be replaced as can be seen. This engine has a good amount of original paint and decals on it and more to be found under the grease. Judging by the overall wear on the moving parts of this engine. Especially the governor fork, it's a pretty low hour engine. It is on the original skids and although they have some ... morescars on them they also have most of the original lettering on them! Original 20hp FAIRBANKS MORSE Z Gas Engine Type R Magneto Steam Tractor Ignitor
This is a very hard to find 20hp Fairbanks Morse Z gas engine. It is a throttle governed gas engine. It spent it's working life in a Southeastern Wisconsin train depot. Judging by the wear on it I don't think it saw very much use and I think the depot was electrified shortly after it's installation. The gears are nice and square and there is hardly any noticeable wear anywhere. It was painted a few years ago and the project wasn't completed. It has the Fairbanks Morse Type R magneto on it and also the original crank guard which is almost always missing. It has the original gas tank in it and it seems pretty solid. The connecting rod is disconnected from the crankshaft so it could be moved around. The piston was out of it at the time it was painted. There are no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind that I can see or know ... moreof. It has a nice factory clutch pulley on it. It also has a set of original wheels and axles with it that it would have came from the factory on. These need steel rails and some miscellaneous hardware to be complete but the major components are there. The engine itself is missing the fuel pump lever and the throttle rod but both of these should be quite easy to find or borrow to reproduce. The engine has the auxiliary water pump with it and the original drive pulley is seen on the inside of the pulley side flywheel. It shouldn't take very much work at all to make noise with it! These Fairbanks Z engines are very well built so if you're looking for engine to run something here it is! It surely would be a great attention getter at the shows! Old STANDARD Cream Separator Air Cooled Gas Engine Motor Magneto Steam Tractor
This is a nice old air cooled Standard cream separator engine made in Milwaukee. Wisconsin. It turns over nicely and has great compression even though it hasn't run for a few years. It is on the original base and has the original magneto on it which is almost always missing. It doesn't seem to have excessive wear in the main bearings. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of other than one chipped cooling fin and the bottom of the gas tank has been fiber glassed at some point. I have never had gas in it so I don't know if it leaks but I'm sure some sealer would take care of it if it did. The points housing on the magneto has a repair on it that seems to work the way it is. This is a very hard to find original Waterloo Gas Engine Company belt driven pump jack. It is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind except for two small cracks as I've pointed out in the photos. It has most of its original green paint on it and is covered with grease just like it left the farm! Old HOCKING VALLEY 2-HOLE Corn Sheller Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor Magneto
This is a very hard to find original 2-hole Hocking Valley corn sheller. It is in old. Used condition and needs some sturdying up or new wood but it does work just the way it is. It stands about 42 inches tall and has a nice cast iron flywheel on it. The bottom wooden feet are missing and the top wood needs to be replaced. Also, one side of the blower housing is missing as well as most of the sheet metal shroud for the fan. All of these should be fairly easy replacements. It has a little bit of original paint and lettering on it. It has very little wear in the bearings and I don't think it was used very much. It has been sitting in a Wisconsin dairy barn for many decades and that's probably how it weathered the way it did. Original PERU WATERLOO Hit Miss Gas Engine Cart Truck Steam Tractor Magneto WOW
This is a very hard to find original set of horse trucks for a hit and miss gas engine made by the Peru Plow Company in Peru. Illinois. They were used under Waterloo engines and many other companies as well. The wheels measure 34 and 26 inches in diameter with a 4 inch face and are in great condition and roll very nicely. It is in great condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It needs new wood for the pole. It is is ready to be put to use under an engine just as it is. There is some pitting on some of the steel but nothing that takes away from it's functionality. The rails are 6 inch channel iron and are 13 1/2 inches apart to the outsides and 96 inches long. These can be adjusted in width rather easily. These trucks should work for a larger 4hp engine up to an 8 or maybe a 9hp engine. This is a very hard to find original cart for a small Sandwich hit and miss gas engine. I believe it is all original except the pull handle but this handle gets the job done. I'm pretty sure it has the original wood board on it but it has a few extra holes in it. The wheels measure 10 1/2 inches in diameter with a 2 1/8 inch face and are all cast iron. It is in great original condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind except for one wheel which has a pretty good old repair and could be dressed down a bit. Old MANZEL 3-Feed Hit Miss Gas Engine Oiler Lubricator Steam Tractor Magneto WOW
This is a real nice original 3-feed mechanical oiler or lubricator for an early gas engine. Tractor, or other piece of machinery. It was made by Manzel and is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. The original sight glass is in good condition. The unit ratchets as it should and seems to pump oil from two of the three pumps. I don't know why the other pump doesn't pump but it may be a stuck check ball. I don't think it will be real tough to get it to pump judging by the overall condition of this oiler. This oiler has the original name tag on it. It mounts with two holes about 7 1/4 inches apart on center. These oilers are extremely difficult to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you've been looking for one don't miss your chance on this one. It gives 50 reasons why a potential customer should buy an Eli engine to do some of their work back in the earlier days on the farm.
